You can purchase the software and install it on your computer, there are many options. Just look for BMW ISTA on ebay. The forums will show you step by step how to set it up

Glad you liked the video, the glue idea is great, but the issue with the material the filter is made of. That thing literally disintegrated, I just checked on mine, and the leaves were all around the outside waiting to go inside the house 😆. I'm thinking of removing the box again and applying a mesh on the outside I might also use your idea of the glue, will definitely help.

Hey Robert, my original issue was rough idling and the car ran like crap. The way I troubleshot it was to clean MAF sensor, then replace the pcv valve. I then moved to replacing the VCG which helped a bit but the issue remained. The last thing that fixed the issue was the precat sensor. If you have the squealing noise you might want to start with the PCV if your VCG is still good and not leaking (mine was done for). It's important to remember that the entire VCG is part of the PCV system and sometimes might get clogged. You would know if you replace just the PCV valve. I have videos for all 3 projects posted on my channel. Hope this helps. The squealing noise I wasn't sure if it was pronounced like others I've seen on yourtube.

@@nyst8fmind Thank you for that info. I replaced the entire valve cover (URO brand) and I'm still getting a squealing noise when the car comes up to operating temperature. Not sure what else to tackle if I'm being honest to get rid of the dreaded noise. I did a PCV test with the flame and it wasn't sucking in air through the little hole, so I'm assuming my VC/PCV isn't the issue.

@FailofWar127 this reminds me of a squealing noise I was getting when my car was around 60k miles, can you tell me if the noise is coming from the exhaust turbo side? Pass side to be precise. If so I suspect your issue is the turbo boost solenoid. @@nyst8fmind I think I might have a few noises going on. I get some chirping from the pulleys, but really the most pronounced one is whenever the squeal from the pcv/valve cover or main seals which is driving me crazy. An interesting observation, when the car is cold the negative vacuum is not as strong, however, after the car is fully warmed up the vacuum seems a bit stronger and the squealing noise starts, especially when you rev the engine

around 2 min the fabric looks white in color fine filter, whereas the FCP EURO one looks different coarse filter though. which one do you recomend?

You're very welcome. Honestly, I took my sweet time. It was like 5 hours, maybe a bit more. It makes it so much longer when you're recording. I remember the most painful part was trying to fit the harness back in. I had to undo the wrapping around it, once the you're dealing with individual cables versus a think harness, it becomes manageable. Hope this helps.

I would think your 2014 didn't have any proximity unlocking. It might sound crazy but I think it's just a coincidence. I would say start by figuring out which handle it is when approaching the car and disconnecting it. And just start from there. Don't forget to subscribe, please. Thank you!!

Good to hear the video was helpful, that's the goal. Regarding your codes, it sounds like a fuel mixture issue. If you don't have down pipes or any tune, I would start by unplugging the MAF sensor, clear the codes, and drive and see if the codes come back. You will have a code for the maf because a usebits unplugged. Otherwise, it might be a bad post cat O2 sensor

@@nyst8fmind thank you for the quick response! Ill try running without MAF and see if those codes come back. The car seems to drive and pull just fine, even idles good. It has aftermarket air intake, catless downpipes and bigger intercooler. Thats how I bought it a year ago. The seller tuned it to MHD stage 0 and i have been driving like that for a year without any issues. Is it possible driving with stage 0 tune with all the upgrades is causing issues?

@enayetkhan9397 unfortunately the MAF suggestion was only if you didn't have DP and a tune, having those together is definitely going to cause this kind of error codes. Perhaps you can get a hold of whoever installed the tune to code them out (I wouldn't hold my breath though). Sorry I couldn't be of any help

When you remove the acoustic cover you will see two square plugs right above the location of the sensor. They sit on top of the valve cover gasket on the pass side.

I think you meant to fix the issue. It was the Pre cat O2 sensor which I cover in this video th-cam.com/video/z_XDLSRvh08/w-d-xo.html

OH THANKS FOR THE INFO yes i replaced mine, too..how did the PVC valve holed up ??? i heard u attach a small vaccuum pump to pcv nozzle..if it doesnt hold vacuum the diaphram is bad or ripped..thanks@@nyst8fmind

My biggest issue now is the dust accumulation on the fans and inside. But I'm ok with it, I kinda anticipated it.

I'd say at this point I would unplug that door handle and see if it stops doing it, then you would know for sure it's a bad door handle you got. If no change, then move to the door handle in the front passenger side and unplug it, and see if anything changes. Let me know...

Yes if the video is not encoded using the right size, it will look stretched. On the unit on my BMW when I play TH-cam video it looks fine, but for videos I put on the thumb drive I had to edit them using the right specs for my screen, it was a hassle but not an issue for me. So it depends on your tolerance and what usage you have for the unit.

I don't think you can, because it is a little different than the one I installed when I had my 525i xdrive E60. But best to message the seller and he can either confirm fitment or recommend a different unit.
