Browning 1895 vs. Winchester 1895 (Both Miroku-made)
This is a comparison of a Browning 1895 .30-06 with a Winchester 1895 .270. Both of these rifles were built out of the Miroku factory in Japan.
The Browning was produced in 1984 and is a very close reproduction of the original 1895s.
The Winchester is a more recent production and has a few key features added to it.
Both rifles are excellent and very well-made, but if I had to choose I definitely have a preference.

New Walther PDP Review!
มุมมอง 3.8K3 ปีที่แล้ว
A review of the new Walther PDP in 9mm. I also compare it to the PPQ, P99, and P99 Compact. Forgot to mention in the video, but another upgrade of the PDP over the PPQ/P99 is that the slide has been redesigned by Walther to help reduce recoil a bit. The other upgrades are the lighter trigger, aggressive slide serrations, aggressive grip texturing, and the fact that it's optics ready out of the ...
Ruger LCP II Review!

My review of the Ruger LCP II in .380 ACP, a fantastic deep concealment handgun. This is a major improvement over the original LCP thanks to its vastly superior trigger and ergonomics. I had a lot of malfunctions with it out of the box, but I sent it back to Ruger (they replaced the extractor, barrel, guide rod, recoil spring, takedown pin, and magazine release) and it has been totally flawless...

Walther P99 and P99 Compact Review!
มุมมอง 13K4 ปีที่แล้ว
The P99 series of pistols from Walther has become my go-to handgun platform for home defense, concealed carry, and tactical use. These pistols are incredibly reliable, well-made, and ergonomic. Honestly I feel the P99s are highly overlooked and underrated in today's market. In this video I go over the P99 and P99 Compact, in addition to the PPQ (all in 9mm). Instagram: nick_oetken
Smith and Wesson 442 Review!

My review of the Smith and Wesson 442 in .38 Special. This is the version without the ridiculous safety lock. All in all a solid option for concealed carry. Note: since this video I've sent in the LCP II to Ruger to have it fixed, and it's been 100% reliable since (they replaced the extractor, magazine release, and the barrel).

Still have my blued 380 PPK/S which I purchased new in 1976 for about 227.00. It has "Made In W. Germany" factory engraved on the slide. Took it to the range recently and ran Hornady critical defense flawlessly through it's three different magazines. Only negative I have had is the heavy first DA trigger. Carried it off duty & used it as a backup on-duty OTJ in the 70s.

Super cool. I have actually since sold the PPK/S I showed in the video and got a W. German PPK/S as well, though in .32 ACP. It's a sweet gun and I loved the blued finish and lack of the 'beavertail' but likewise the DA trigger pull is heavy.

@@nickoetken1122 PS; Forgot to mention I have the same problem with the trigger guard. I have an old expired credit card that I slide between the guard and the frame when I take it down. I also don't have large paws so slide bite isn't a factor.

.380 has less recoil. Agree on the spotty reliability of the LCPs. I have the Max and it has the spontaneous magazine eject issue.... Yeah..... Not great. The deal is, snubbies technically aren't perfectly reliable either. You can short stroke a revolver. Cylinders can freeze if you don't clean your gun. They are trickier to shoot well. And .38 special out of an airweight revolver feels like hitting your hand with a hammer after a box of 50.

In my opinion there’s zero comparison. One will fire every time with everything you put through it to include lead round nose ammo, hollow points, wadcutters, etc. and the other might fire with just the right ammo…maybe! People can say what they want, but the good ole J-Frame is still a very relevant CCW option, even in todays world of “wonder 9’s”

Nice review! Excellent demonstration of the AS trigger mode. Walther P99 is a great pistol. The standard model and compact are both ideal choices for ccw. 2023 was last year of production for this pistol. Definitely a star for many years in Walther's production.

This gun is in no way was the "hard to shoot" for me even with +p ammo thanks to the excellent stock grip. I out shot everyone in the CA CCW qualifications. I also own a Sig p365 and I can't even keep my hands on the tiny grip and require an extended mag. I am 6'4 with large hands, this gun is sick right out the box. Light, compact, very easy to conceal. Remember, you can talk all day about stats, but if you buy a gun that too big, uncomfortable or too heavy to carry and your dont carry every single day, your voice doesnt matter. Buy a gun that you will carry every day without hesitation regardless of the caliber, brand, etc. Whatever fits you best. Hope that helps. All the best to the pro gun community. Stand strong for our rights to bear arms.

I really wanted to expand my ccw choices beyond my 442 and 686.I have had my 442 for 3 years now and I love it. I was looking at the M&P Shield. I love those however can never get over the fact that I have seen so many shots fail on the range when others have malfunctions. It could be bad ammo, poor maintenance, incorrect ammo, too many spring adjustments, magazine failures, after market accessories and so forth. During qualification I have seen semi's fail many times. I am honestly over anything but my current choice of ccw. To that speil, THANK YOU for this video. Excellent info.

I know this vid is old but, have u requested Ruger fix your LCP II? They upgraded the extractor. It now uses the same one as the LCP Max. Ruger sent me a new upper free of charge. It’s extremely reliable now. That said, I still carry my S&W J frame as well. 2 great options for pocket carry. I also use Galco holsters for both guns.

Funny how everybody has different feelings on grips. I have tried them all on my j frame and found no stand outs. The Uncle mikes felt just like the factory grips to me. After about 10 tries I gave up on the perfect feel and went for the cool factor. With that said I got some Chiefs Special grips love the look! Are they comfortable to shoot not really but none I tried were but these just look right on this gun so I gave up my search and stuck with these. The one good thing is they are really compact and small which helps it hide in the pocket.

love mine but man that beavertail really cuts into the web in your hand after 100 shots it gets painful. I was able to fix this by taking 600 grit wet/dry cloth and sanding down the sharp edges in the beavertail (I can't take credit I saw this in a youtube video). Really makes shooting this gun far more pleasurable.

The Walther P99 failed in the market place simply because you could not safely carry it in the single action mode. This would have been possible if the Morons of Walther would have simply put a manual safety on the gun. To safely carry the P99 you must carry it in the double action mode and most people cannot hit much in double action mode unless its across the bar room table.

The Ruger LCR is a better gun IMO. More durable. The frame and barrel are metal. The polymer portion helps mitigate recoil.
