You can do a bigger swap file which allows you to run multiple scripts. The swap file don’t get filled up fast so you should be good increasing the size.

Normally most ISP devices have the feature of port forwarding. Your only other best option is to use bridge mode on the ISP modem but if that is not also available you may have to actually reach out to their support to find out more about port forwarding and/or how to enable bridge mode for their device. What is the model number of the Huawei ISP device? You might have to look up the actual model number we on google or TH-cam to see how to activate port forwarding. Hope that helps!

No do not disable JFFS custom scripts as it is needed by AMTM and other scripts used by the Merlin adding. Yes leave SSH LAN only to avoid any possible port scanning from external. That way to access SSH will only be allowed from your internal network. Hope that answers your questions.

What is recommended when installing Merlin is to give your router a full factory reset, that way all old setting will not remain and you make sure your build is good and will not cause any unwanted hiccups. What I will suggest is that before installing merlin Firmware make a full backup of your stock firmware configuration and then install Merlin firmware, it should keep your original settings. I will suggest is when you do the Merlin firmware reset it to factory and start a clean slate with your config, I know that is a hassle but it will give you the best result. Hope that helps!

That will be specific per SSID, so SSID A you use 16, SSID B will be a different 16 and SSID C will be a different 16. The 16 from SSID C will not work when you connect to SSID A. Hope that helps!

It will be best for you to make sure you format the drive with FAT or FAT32, do not use NTFS as the router will not see it. You can format it on another Windows workstation with just FAT and then connect it to the router and see if that works. Hope that helps!

Not all routers have the smart connect feature, what model ASUS router do you have? You can always check the specs on the ASUS website to see if it have the smart connect feature with the original ASUS factory firmware. Once you see that feature there then it will be available in the Merlin Firmware. Hope that helps!

When you say your wireless cctv is hacked, can you give abit more information. There can be many reasons why it is being hacked. Is it that someone is able to connect from outside your network to your cameras? Do you have strong password for your cameras? Is any of your devices on the network infected with malware, etc? Something I would recommend is that if you do not view your cameras remotely you can create a close network for the cameras to only be viewed internally. Create a specific guest SSID for the cameras with a very complicated password to join the SSID and use a different subnet different from any of the rest of the network and then you can manually give the camaras static IPs but do not put a gateway address which will prevent traffic from moving between different subnets. For example, if your main network is 172.16.1.1-50 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0, you can create the guest SSID for the cameras with 172.16.2.1-50 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 and do not put a gateway on the camaras. Unfortunately the ASUS router does not go down in such granularity to block you tube channels. It can however block websites with certain names or contains certain words. For you to get such granularity you may need an enterprise grade hardware like a firewall. I am in the process of doing some videos regarding testing is a Sophos home grade firewall. Look out for those videos soon. Hope that helps?

What would May want to verify is that in the vpn connection you have to make sure you select dns director to route traffic from certain devices or if you want all your devices on the network to be routed through the VPN. Hope that helps?

I would suggest that you update your ASUS router with the latest Merlin firmware for your router and it should be already incorporated into the firmware. What model ASUS router do you currently have? Trying upgrading to the latest Merlin firmware and then check to see if anymore is installed. Hope that helps?

I have never came across such error. You may want to try another flash drive but before you do that try to format the flash drive on another computer but make sure it is not formatted with NTFS, format it with fat or fat32 so that amen can find it because amen will not see ntfs formatted flash drive. The other thing you can do is to have your ISP modem set in bridge mode which will allow your ASUS router to have a public IP address assigned to the WAN interface on your ASUS router, that way you will not have to bother with setting up port forwarding.

What model of router do you have that supports instant guard?

You can only manage Diversion using the AMTM SSH interface, you will be able to add to the black or white listing as well as disable Diversion all together. The WEBGUI interface can be found under Advanced Settings section then select LAN and you will see the tab in there. That WEBGUI just displays statistics. All settings and configuration will have to be done through SSH. The below link will show you the different options you will have with SSH. When you upgrading your router there is no need to turn any features off. It will retain all settings including any third party apps/scripts. To update Diversion it has to be done through SSH. You can go with different configurations. The main purpose when it comes to protection is a concept called defense in depth where you will have different layers of protection, it work like the first layer will filter or protect you devices and network from certain attacks but some may get by but the second level of protection will most likely catch it and then the third, fourth, etc level of protection will continue to filter. So to recap having multiple layers of protection is always good. For the older 68u router it will depend on what you are trying to achieve, if you want to block ads you can use Diversion and Skynet, but if you don not mind ads to your devices and just want to protect your network from intruders go with Skynet and the default firewall. If you router can handle all 3 without a performance impact on the router and internet traffic I would recommend all 3 features. Hope that answers your questions?

The reason why I use Diversion is that I want to have control over the block lists. It allows me to add certain domains to the whitelist to allow. Also Adguard was blocking some of the games I play on my phone so I can be granular. If you rather to have a multilayer approach to blocking ads you can use diversion and also use Adguard DNS server. It all boils down to your preference and tolerance. Hope that help!

The AX57 will function the say was as any other ASUS router that runs the Merlin Firmware. There are a few things you can do to block snapchat and tiktok, you can use under parental controls -> Web & Apps Filters block Instant message and communication and/or also under Firewall -> URL Filter and Keyword Filter tabs you can add the website for snapchat and tiktok there. Test with a device to make sure you get the desired outcome when making changes to know if it works or not. Hope that helps.

Which version of the firmware did you download and try, RT-AX58U_3004_388.6_2? What you can try is firmware version RT-AX58U_388.2_2 and see if that works. If it works then try the RT-AX58U_3004_388.4_0 and then work your way up to the latest firmware to see which version is the issue. Once you find out which is the issue leave the version before and test it for a week to see how it behaves. Don't forget to always make a backup of your configuration. If all else fails then reset to factory and do a clean firmware upgrade. Hope that helps!

Hope it was very helpful to get your ASUS router setup.

That is an ISP (Internet Service Provider).

First make sure that your VPN is connected, then, under the VPN-> Client tab, make sure that under Network Settings "Accept DNS Configuration" is set to exclusive and "Redirect Internet traffic through tunnel" is is set to Yes (all) which will allow all devices to be routed through the VPN tunnel or you can select VPN Director (Policy Rules) and then go to VPN Director tab and add the device(s) you want to get routed through the VPN connection. Yes you can do that. The VPN server that is created in the USA will receive the VPN connections either from a client device or another router from Spain and it will route the traffic out the WAN interface on the USA side of the VPN. Hope that helps!

Have you tried another port on the back of the router? Also try a smaller flash drive like a 32 or 16GB if available as the router might not be available to see very large usb. Hope that helps!

Are you able to ping the router IP? Try rebooting the router also, the. Try again. If all else fails and you can’t login into the router you may have to reset the router to factory settings and configure it from scratch, but that will be the last resort. Hope that helps!

I agree! Got this as an upgrade today and DD-WRT (only tried from Oct 24 to current and my wifi is completely cut. Going to look at alternatives later but for now i have to settle for stock
