II watched your video to learn how to disconnect the shift rod. You jump to another part of the disassembly and didn’t get what part gets turned to separate the rod. Or when reassembling the shift rod how to adjust so it shifts correctly.

So on the fishboats when I was out we used Oki flashers with 12' tails to those hoochies. And we used Nootka flashers with 15' tails to hoochies. The Nootka rig was more for springs and Oki's for coho. But we used them both throughout the season. Not saying it's the go to rig but it's what we used back in the early 80's.

same motor 1977 and mine was doing the same thing on the water twice, first i thought the vent on the gas tank was't open second trip out i opened the vent and cracked the gas cap still same thing starving for gas had to pump bulb to keep it running, just today i took off the side cover for a look and the bowl was off along with the brass nut that tightens it along with a jet with a bent spring attached to it, not sure if anything else as i have yet to take the cover off due to weather, can't believe mine ran with the bowl off and a jet unreal

You should have lead the water from the roof - "cleaning" away from the porch. Also make sure the surface is clean where you put the silicone. Poor jobs in the US as often shows here on TH-cam. Maybe thats why you only got ONE like in 378 wiews.... But everyone has the opportunity to change if they want. Good luck!

Loved the video. I’ve got the same motor and when I prime it fuel gushes out of the carburetor through this small rectangular slit on the plastic grille covering the air intake. A lot of fuel comes out so I’m thinking it’s more than an old diaphragm/gasket. Do you have any idea what may be causing this?

Watched this so mamy times and it helped me get the timing spot on om my marina 75 you explain it so well but at the very end of the video when you are tinkering with the idle screw there is no explanation, i thought the idle scew also adjusts the cranking timing, if you adjust to suit idle are not altering the idle timing you just set?

Lol, was that a bullfrog in the back ground? What dies the pollen pack do for them? What happens if you accidentally squish a bee? I noticed the activity of flying bees seem to pick up, why was that? Lol, you blowing on them and then started eating the honey. I was envisioning a swarm attack 😂

Suggestion ... you should be running water in the lower end while setting the timing and running the engine ... to run the water pump impeller dry is not good!

This is something ive been wanting to do for years now. But I'm allergic to wasp stings so pretty sure its the same for bee's. Looking good Preston.

Hello mate going to be doing the same adjustment on my mariner 50hp. Just a quick one when you set your TDC to 0 then explained about setting idle to 4 degrees was that to the left or right hand side of TDC? I’m assuming to the left is BTDC and the right is ATDC

Hi gyus i have a mergury 4cylinder. If my top piston is out the marks on the flywheel is on the other side of the timming window.could the flywheel key be broken?any advice plz.motor start quick.takes bit long to get on planespeed.
