Hey nice video! Just trying to learn, do these type of breakers work on multi-wire branch circuits? I’m used to seeing a black as hot unless it’s accompanied by a secondary hot or traveler being red? How do you tell it’s not a multi-wire branch circuit?
No. For a MWBC, you’ll need a two pole DF breaker (if you can find one for your panel). I can tell a MWBC by the shared neutral.
@ thanks!
Thanks your video help me so much !
Glad it helped!
What about the back one?
I have the same panel. the ground bar came mounted on plastic in the top right corner hole to the 4th hole down. I hated this position crowded by the Neutral bus. How did you mount yours like that?
Thanks for the video..l have that exact fireplace and I am trying to figure out to get the unit in there…I am wondering if i need the GFk21…I just can’t see the GFK4 going in there. the slot in the rear of the compartment is not wide enough to accommodate the GFK4 so that it sits flush against the wall. Did you have to move the gas valve or any fittings?
No, I didn't need to move any fittings. Just had to twist and turn the blower the right way to get it back there.
This video is about running conduit for wire and not really about installing the charger. I was hoping to find out how the actual wall element went together and the cover was attached.
@@jlacko Sorry about that. It’s pretty straightforward. Mount bracket to the wall; attach charger with the 10 or so screws …
Nice job. 👍 love it. Sub Panels always are convenient.💪😎
Would've been interesting to see how you actually got the blower inside but you skipped right over that.
Just slide it in below the firebox…
This very helpful. Thank you
Great video no unnecessary click bait chatter
Did you turn off the Main power breaker to the box? Or just install hot?
@@zooedca I did not turn off main. I’m a licensed electrician; I know how to stay safe.

I love what you did, but I have a question? Do you have to wait with the door until the slow clothes happens? It seems like you have to wait so you don’t scratch the door
Yeah you can’t close the doors until the drawer goes all the way in
Hows the desk holding up over time?
Well. Great customer service too.
@@brianapel8404I’ll have to pull the plug then… the color I really want is the color of your OTHER desk lol. That dark elegant look 😩 (lawyer home office )
Good morning how are you? Actually I need your phone number please.
do you need wifi for this to work? or can it work offline?
You’ll need WiFi and the Lutron bridge for my setup, but not for just one switch to control one other device
If you have the builder grade ones, can you drill into where the others were?
Not sure what you mean...
Can you specify which drawer type you got? There are three options on the website.
Baltic Birch Plywood Drawer Box Box Type:Drawer Box - D104 Rear Notching ($3.00):Yes, Notch for Blum Tandem Slides Assembly and Finish ($30.00):Factory Assembled/Finished in Clear Topcoat
Do you recall what spacing you used for the swing hardware going to be putting up a swingset and can’t find much Info online
I don’t. I feel like maybe 30”??
You guys took the easiest place to leak a pipe lol thumbs down
Try farting on your detector and see what happens
Did you end up moving the cable behind the A pillar airbag? I have a 2013 model I’m looking to install a dash cam on
Yep. Piece of cake
Wish I could find a gas leak like that to repair 😂😂😂
You definitely DO NOT want to run the wire through the A pillar without securing it to other harnesses in the pillar, using cable-ties. Just tucking behind the pillar cover risks the cable interfering with proper operation of the airbag. Take the A pillar cover off and do it right.
That was my thought too when he discussed pushing the cable into the pillar. Last thing you want to be thinking when someone hits you in your front driver's side is "Well, my airbag might not release properly to save me, but at least I'll have it all on video!"
Thx
Is 100amp enough for ev and subpanel?
Yes. Load calculations were submitted with the permit application and it was approved. That’s why it’s capped at 32A.
We have now a AC , dryer, range.I have a plan to buy ev car next month. Is 100 enough for my ev charger?
Is there a reason why the charger was connected to the main panel and not the new sub panel you installed?
I don't enjoy the outlets being installed sideways. A lot of those big block ac/dc converters for electronics only stick in the outlet well if it is installed in the regular vertical orientation. Contact pressure with the prongs is better in general with a vertical orientation, less risk of a plug becoming loose.
Okay, but this is the convention here in Chicagoland.
You said it was going to be finished? how will they frame and drywall with the pipes in there like that?
They frame about 1" off of the concrete wall.
@@brianapel8404 So... the recepticles will be inside the wall? pretty sure those metal boxes won't be flush with the drywall.. so once again how will they frame it?
@@cranbers You put on metal box extension rings and then mud rings...
@@brianapel8404 Are you saying the home owner is now going to have to pay more to fix what this guy did? Clearly what he did was meant for exposed wiring in a commercial environment. Not for a basement that is about to be finished... Where there could have been no metal conduit, metal receptacles etc. I bet this guy charged them 1k+ for this job. And the electrition hired to fix all this once the drywall is up is going to get another 1k+ to fix it so it looks like a normal finished wall. Nice.
@@cranbers you’re obviously not familiar with electrical work in the Chicago area. All conductors are required to be run in metal conduit, even inside walls, and even in residential. And I told the customer that after it was framed out in a few years, I would put on the extension rings, and mud rings before Drywall goes up for no extra charge.
One tip I learned from an old boss to make life easier for framers is to make two 90's at the corner. If you bend up or down, then another 90 to the right, the emt stays tight to the wall the whole way.
finally someone who uses 250.118. looks clean
Thanks
I don't consider the conduit to be reliably contiguous. just run a ground wire and avoid the discussion. Also... Chicago sideways outlets?
@@timh2870Do what you like. For small circuits like this I don’t mind. For whole structure, I agree: separate EGC. And yes, Chicagoland convention is sideways with hot up; no idea why.
What was the purpose of this
Make room for EV charger and electrical stove in the main panel
Thanks for the video! Did the drawer manufacturer pre-cut those drawers for the Blum sliders?
Yes
Stacking equipment is not recommended!
Just being cheap I mean if you don’t have it I understand but you already got it out. You might as well just replace the whole thing because they only last Tops 10 years if you use it a lot.
It was 2 years old at the time
We just added a blower to our Heatalator unit. There is a gap under the box that draws cool air that is heated and radiates out of the vent along the top. With our ceiling fan on reverse it would warm the room several degrees, although below about 2 feet it would also draw cool air across the floor. Anyone seated in the room can feel the uncomfortable chill. The blower certainly helps expel the heated air, but at even its lowest speed setting it just exacerbates the situation with a stronger draw of cool air. The answer, of course, is to draw the air from outside. Hopefully a modification can be made without having to replace the whole thing.
Does the camera tell me once the SD card has no more space?
No, it just re-records over the oldest videos.
How long does it record? I saw an option 1 min 2 min and 3 min. Is that all its allowed to record?
As long as the size of your microSD card
Thank you for doing this video! VERY HELPFUL!
Useless.
I have a couple of “blue steel” knives that rust like crazy and pit, no matter that I thoroughly clean and dry them after each use. When I replace them, it’s going to be with STAINLESS steel!
Will the park feature work. Where the camera turns on if it detects motion if you tap into one that only works when the car is on?
if ATT supplied a router/modum, why did you add your own router??
It did not have a strong enough signal for my liking.
So since the camera turns off when the car shuts off. Does it stop recording ? Will it start recording automatically if someone hits your car while parked or does it just completely just stop recording ?
Stops altogether. If someone hits me while my car is parked and off, I will not have any record of it.
@@brianapel8404there is a way to make it record the second you are hit whilst parking. Please ignore this creator’s misinformation.
@@brianapel8404hard wire it to a live fuse it will still shut off but will continue to record 24/ 7 ,if just the front camera it will record for 4 hours and the loop and start again, if front and rear camera is on it will loop after every 2 hours
you need one ground in the pipe your run its code lol ,
No it’s not. The EMT is the ground.
The heavy-duty industrial grade NEMA 14-50 receptacles (Hubbell, Bryant) are constructed of fire-resistant Bakelite rather than injection-molded plastic, and their 4 contact springs are heavy-duty with heavy plating, specifically designed for thousands of insertion/removal cycles rather than a few dozen. They also feature specially plated clamp-style wiring connections with set screws which must be carefully tightened using a calibrated torque wrench. A side-by-side comparison is compelling, and there are a rapidly-growing number of photos of melted/scorched/burned NEMA 14-50 outlets posted on the Internet. Sadly, many of these dangerous receptacles were installed by licensed electricians. Prices of these receptacles are coming back down (~$75) now that supply is catching back up with demand. Less-expensive, lower-quality NEMA 14-50 receptacles are unsafe for EV charging and should all come with a warning that they are not designed for and must not be used for EV charging applications. Given the risk, home improvement stores (Home Depot, Lowes, ACE Hardware, etc) should completely stop selling them, and online stores should be required to have detailed warnings. The national wiring codes should also be updated appropriately. No one should die or lose their home over this issue. That said, a safer, more reliable option is to have an EVSE permanently wall-mounted with a dedicated, hard-wired connection rather than installing a NEMA 14-50 receptacle. And PLEASE hire a licensed, experienced electrician. Don't risk your home and loved ones to save a few bucks. Seriously. Now that the Tesla/NACS connector is being adopted for EV charging in 120/240Vac North America, the Tesla (Gen 3) Wall Connector EVSE is an excellent value with a large installed base and a well-earned reputation for safety and reliability.
