The Best Budget Optic Rail - Kalashnikov USA KS-12T
Testing out the budget friendly M59 low profile optics rail from Kalinka Optics. I'll be running it on the KS12T with nearly 150 rounds of various strength rounds to see if it maintains zero. I'll be running several different 1250-1350fps birdshot rounds, Wolf, Federal and Rio(terribly weak) slugs and a 25 round box of 3" 1 1/8 oz. #3 shot.

UPDATE - I forgot to mention in the video, but if you purchase the M59 rail for the KS12 then there is a set screw that needs to be removed for proper fitment.

Nah
This week I will be receiving my OTC 1735B engine stand. Price point is about 2 grand but I'll be using it more than once.
I don’t think any consumer woodchippers like green wood.
Is it still working good? I’m about the pull the trigger on getting one.
The best chipper review on YT. None of that blah..blah... none sense talks that take half of the time of the video. Just chip and shred and repeat.
def buying on when taxes come back! wish i wouldn't have waited so long
The augers do not last in these machines. Its the hard wood that does it. I've seen one so far where the auger fractured. Be careful Chinese steel is not like the old MTD machines... Its 10 times worse.
Brave man thanks for giving me confidence
It’ll really shine if you remember to feed it seasoned dry wood
Game changer...
lol I have that old 1000 or a 1500 I think. it bounces like it's on springs when I roll a sbc 350 around. Scary shit, but this one seems way better for the job for sure.
How do you get it to fire with less recoil is it the muzzle? Or the stock? And what sight would u recommend
This thing looks like it’s running a 8 hp! But it’s a 6.5hp. What a champ. Plus it looks really easy to maintain and fix. Looking forward to buying one of these.
I have the opportunity to pick up a Vepr 12 for $1600 but the lack of repair parts really makes me nervous. What’s your take and have you found any cross compatible parts with the Vepr 12? Just thinking it might be the “safer” route to go with the KS12

My Factory Nissan Versa 2020 S radio unit is broken and what kinds of Units are appropriate replacements cause I can't afford a 2500$ replacement Factory Radio so I am trying a cheaper Aftermarket radios and would like links to appropriate units
Hey where did you get those rca cables? Was it like a bundle? And will I be able to do the same thing if I just order rca cables separately?
They came with the amp. If you're trying to get the signal from your radio to the amp they make speaker wire to rca cables. Only thing you need to make sure of is that the amp can receive speaker level and rca inputs. The Alpine amp I used for example, has a toggle switch for speaker level or rca.
Is that pine limbs?
Yes it is pine, so fairly soft wood. With hard woods like oak and hickory it is a very time consuming process to feed large limbs through it. I no longer even bother trying to feed it the post and blackjack oak I have around here. I do put a lot of hickory through it though, probably more so than any other wood.
@@TheMetalheadHomestead Thanks for your reply.
Thank you for making this video and showing that you can actually put 3-in pieces of wood in there. It's like everybody's scared to put s*** in there. They only put twigs 😂
Just remember, you get what you pay for! I don't care how much your coupon reduces to purchase the Harbor Freight Chipper/Mulcher. ITS NOT WORTH IT! I had mine for one year and it worked ok. It DOES NOT TAKE 3" limbs...... The shaft sheered the following year and of course i did not take the extended warranty. The Customer Service line is a joke. You have to have a lot of time to stay on hold until anyone answers. Once answered, the Customer Service rep. stated i could purchase another shaft for it. I did and it was not really that expensive. They also sent it pretty fast. Well, that was a joke. You literally have to be a small engine mechanic with all the tools to tear the entire engine apart to install the new shaft. A friend told me it was cheaper to purchase another engine with the shaft. So, i called back, waited an hour and they took the part back. I ordered the engine for $120 but now the shaft does not smoothly fit the hub. Very long frustrating time latere, i sold the entire piece of crap on Facebook to someone for $50 and bought a REAL CHIPPER!.
REALLY FAST FORWARD THE WHOLE TIME HOW IN THE HECK DOES THAT HELP THE CONSUMER!!!! BAD VIDEO
The image of the screw that needs to be removed for proper fitment in the description is blank. Can you post a new image of the screw that needs to be removed?
This is exciting! I just got myself a 2020 nissan versa sv. i'm a toyota person but i think I dropped the gun too fast and this is what i ended up leaving the lot with, lol i'm grateful though, its the perfect car for me. all glory to god! I like watching these kind of videos. i have videos of my car on my channel as well :)
EXCITING! I just got myself a 2020 nissan versa sv. ive been obsessed with watching these kinds of videos. I originally wanted a toyota but this is what i just ended up leaving with, i dropped the gun too fast and jumped on it without seeing what else cars i had to choose from, lol. i'm very grateful though, god is good.
Thanks for the video - bought mine yesterday based on it. Straight old stuff up to 3” is a breeze. Make sure there are no bends in the wood - so cut them straight. It did give me a hard time on fresh cut - birch and lilac - I would avoid anything fresh over 2” (unless soft wood) as it does bind up and stall. I also needed to pull out some wood chunks that got trapped in the holes in the chipper/shredder wheel. But I imagine this is common to all these smaller machines. Nevertheless, suitable for my needs, was on sale and used a coupon.
All i can find is steps to take off the loader..How in the fuck do you take just the bucket off the loader
It's been over 2 years now. Are you still happy with this wood chipper?
I am actually. Still use it often, and though it is in need for new or sharpened teeth it still gets the job done. Just a bit slower than it used too. It'll still chew through soft woods with ease, but the hickory and oak are bit more troublesome and jam it more frequently now days.
Very easy to follow instructions, thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Very easy to follow instructions, thanks!
Mine was jamming today. I read multiple people say it happens to them too. And that it only cycles high brass unless modded with a more adjustable gas system. But you say you shot low brass out the box? Explain.
Some low brass. The Federal and Estate low brass both work without issue if the gas block is on the correct setting. Usually I look for 1250fps or better bird shot for playing around. There are exceptions though, Rio and Winchester ammo rated well above 1250fps have always given me trouble. Not just on the KS12 though, both my VEPR's refuse to run those rounds as well.
What type / make / model of muzzle attachment is that?
GK-03. Got mine from Ivan with a 3 month wait, but Dissident has them also for about twice the price.
No issues whatsoever. I have owned a Komrad for years now and all the videos fail to point out to the shooter that holding the firearm true is a part of the mechanics of such a short and powerful barrel. The Fightlite Raider in 300 blackout with a 7.5" barrel has the exact same bad publicity. For me they both; shoot accurate, are built solid, and require a man to operate.. Feed it higher pressure rounds as recommended you will LOVE the accuracy.
Much of what I’ve got to chip is like your branches, mostly dead stuff and a little bigger than the 3” branch 👍🏻 I’ll be getting one of these soon! Thank You for the video 👍🏻
Thank you for this video!! I am now comfortable tackling new speakers in my 2022 Versa daily commuter. Thank you for keeping the video short, to the point & clear. Excellent how-to video.
Glad it was helpful!
Yeah my 12rd sgm mag..won't feed a shell into the chamber it bends up the top of the shell..I notice the kusa mags ..the shell is canted up more so it feeds easier, but the 10rd kusa has some wiggle to it. I bought the 25rd sgm drum and now I'm regretting that
You can fix that sgm mag and make make it reliable look up a few videos
Where can I get a wireing diagram for this car
Thanks for this video, just mounted mine up!
I was curious to know how easy it is to un-jam if something should lock up inside the blades? I used to have to do it on my old one frequently, and it was a pain in my rear.
Depends, but as the chipper ages and begins to get a bit more dull it jams more often. There is an access plate on the back or you could remove the chute if you REALLY get it jammed. Usually it gets jammed at the chute right up against the flywheel/teeth and you can use a stick to spin the flywheel the opposite direction and free it up. Hard woods like oak and hickory tend to cause most of the jams, so taking it slow with those is your best bet to avoid jams.
mine jammed when I made the mistake of putting thick palm branches - huge mistake! But, if you remove the back plate, you can remove the debris with no problem. If I could change anything I would make a latch for the rear so removing the rear plate is easier - not that it's hard it's just removing all the bolts, removing the jam, then putting it back slows you down. Overall, just be patient and don't overstuff it and don't put palm branches or thick wet or green branches and you'll be fine
✊👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
That intro is priceless.
Thats about right, an el cheapo harbor freight beats the pants of the 2 to 3 thousand dollar models Ive looked at, lol.
Some harbor freight stuff is badass! I’ll be purchasing this machine in a few weeks. This video convinced me to purchase it.
@@MadTrax572 yeah, ive been seeing a lot of.good reviews on a 110 welder theyve got as well
Perfect video and just what i needed to know! Thanks!

I'm doing a similar version of your build, same car model with the same amp just different speakers. I also bought a 1 channel amp and subs and I was wondering if you have any suggestions on how to do the wiring for an additional amp while still keeping it simple and professional.
Thanks for doing the Lord's work.
Ok I am reading all the comments. Can someone who is knowledgeable about these damn mags hopefully help me out here? What mags should I go with if I were to buy this gun. P mags, ccs mags, Sgm mags, kusa that already comes with it, or god knows what. I mean, everyone’s got a story, so what’s the bottom line?
Csspecs are the top of line in quality and price. I personally do not have them for the KS12, but do for the Vepr 12 and the only downside is that occasionally they need a little filing to fit perfect. I have had really good luck with these Promags, but it would seem I'm in the minority. So I'd say to buy these if you find them for a low price. SGMs are pretty good. They've really improved their quality control over the years, and are usually easier to find in stock than the other brands. The KUSA mags are my least favorite. Mine still works fine but it is bulky, the locking lugs are tiny, and it always wants to hang up when trying to do tacticool reloads.
@@TheMetalheadHomestead thanks. They’re selling this gun at a local store and I was on the fence since I needed to know more about the mag issues, and come to think of it, problems with the stock breaking with the heavier duty shells. Too much to figure out in advance. But again thanks
What kind of muzzle break are you using on there ?
GK-03++ from Ivan Tactical
@@TheMetalheadHomestead Thanks
Do you know how much it weights? Can't find that anywhere
I just bought the ks-12 not knowing there was a tactical, so I just purchased the stock you just dragged through the mud. I hope it's better than you say it is. You forgot to mention it folds to the left. Which I couldn't find any stock that did that. I do have a question. When you fired the buckshot you had it on H or 2 ? Than when shooting slugs went back to L? I'm using Winchester defender rounds that have buckshot and a 1oz SLUG in 1 shell. Do you recommend H or L ?
That stock has held up so far. Just feels cheap, like a low end AR stock. The lower power rounds are 2 and the slugs on 1. After being broke in a bit the the 00 buck fired more reliably on 1. For your rounds, they'd most likely run well on 1. I'd definitely test it out though, see how far the shells fly out. If it does run on 1 but the shells fall right beside you, then I'd switch to 2. If it flings the shells out with some authority then you should have no reliability concerns as the gun gets dirty.
Well….. awesome. Thanks so much.
Do the pro mag 20 rd drums do well?
