Is it imperative that the dish soap be Dawn? People frequently mention it by name and I always wonder why.
Well, I learnt something useful today. I had never heard of the vinegar and dish soap method. Seems to be a winner for fruitflies. I'll be setting up one. Thanks!
WHAT TO DO IF ALMOST ALL THE AREA OF MY KURTA HAS OIL STAIN FROM LEAKAGE OF OIL PULLING BOTTLE INSIDE SUITCASE????😢
thank you to your video❤
Do you Harvest any other herbs?
Thank you sharing this.❤
I messed lipstick on my sweatpants and I thought it might just wash off so i put it in the wash the first time and it came out the same then I tried a stain remover and washed it again and nothing happened then i tried your method and it also didn't work but I think it only works on certain types of material so I don't know what I'm gonna do😢 but I'm sure your hack works for other people
Ugh I’m so sorry. Yes this works well for grease/oils but other stains not so much. Folks in the comments have recommended spraying hydrogen peroxide on. Others say scrubbing in some salt. Hope something works for you. ❤
Thank u I made the vinegar and soap traps and put them all over my apartment they are dying so fast I was going to order the plug in traps so thank u so much for this video I'm go stick with the vinegar
That’s great to hear! 🎉🎉
GOOP mechanics’ hand cleanser is in my laundry room. It is designed to remove oil/grease. No mixing and it comes with a good shelf life.
Great tip, thanks!
We were infested with gnats n drain flies, zevo saved US within a week GONE!
That’s wonderful to hear! I’m so glad others have had better luck with it than I have.
O ok thank u much I guess I will try them
So you just leave over night or wash it? What do you do after you apply it?
Leave it on about a half hour then wash as usual.
Is there a way to extend the shelf life without putting it in the fridge?
Mine lasts for months just on the shelf. 😊
@@RoughandTumbleFarmhouseI know it lasts a year on the shelf but if you put it in the fridge doesn’t last longer ?
I just spilled kalamata spread on my new jeans. :( I applied baking powder. But I just came across your page. I'm going to make the paste. Is it ok to use another type of dish soap or does it have to be dawn?
Hey from the UK. I just tried this on an expensive white tshirt I wore once and got some kinda grease on it… I nearly chucked it out and tried this. Wow!!! Thank you!! 🙏🏻
Thank you for this video review! I’ve been trying to research between these two pans and 2 other much more expensive ones and it helps getting a more in depth review!
You’re very welcome! I actually donated the metal one and bought another cast iron. I won’t use anything else!
@@RoughandTumbleFarmhouse yeah, I’m leaning towards 2 cast irons myself! I don’t enjoy the initial seasoning as i usually reseason 3 times on new cast irons but it’s so worth it
@@foxbearchillinbytheriver I have been super happy with these ones in terms of seasoning. I just grease with coconut oil and it doesn't stick at all!
I love simple living. With all this technology, changing every day it seems, life has become more complicated and the pace is way too fast. I feel like I can return to a simpler life when I view these videos. Thank you.
Hi. Just seeing this 9/22/24. How would you suggest flavoring yogurt? Just add fruit to it? I buy a mango flavored yogurt made from raw sheeps milk. It’s yummy! I wondered how they flavored it because its as creamy as the one you make. Thanks for the video!
Will the b.soda bleach d colour off the clothes
I have not had that issue but I did have one commenter that has had that problem. I would recommend running a test on part of the garment you can’t easily see just to be on the safe side. I think the risk is minimal, as I’ve had over 300k folks watch this and only one has had a problem.
First time trying this and duh I forgot to strain it. After 6 hours it didn't get very thick. So I poured it into the jars with out straining. Can I restart the whole process?
You can still strain it. 😊
Thank you for your recipe. I made this yogurt last time and it was delicious but a little runny. I’m trying a bit more starter and heating the oven up a little more.. I’ll see in 8 hours if it works 😃My question is.. could I put vanilla in with the starter culture to flavour it? Or would it affect the fermentation? Thanks again!
@@Lilyequestrain With the alcohol in the vanilla it’s hard to say what it might do. I think your best bet would be to set aside a little of the plain yogurt from each batch for making your next batch, then flavor what you plan to eat.
@@RoughandTumbleFarmhousethank you! I will try that. 😊
Thanks Kelsey. I always enjoy your videos.
Thank you so much! ❤
Or do we leave the I’ve on the lowest setting?
So the oven is off?
Oven is switched off once it comes to temp. Then I recommend leaving your oven light on if you have one.
I love your take it easy approach. Its encouraging!
Thank you! There are few things I take too seriously, otherwise it sucks all the fun right out of it. Then what’s even the point?
Thank you! Love this.
Beautiful
I got some fried chicken grease on my car seat for obvious reasons I can't put that in the washing machine. How would I get around that issue. Any ideas?
If you ever need to kick it up a notch add some vinegar after you let the baking soda/dawn mix sit for 15min. I suggest rubbing it in with a soft toothbrush as well.
I hope this works
I like this tip using Dawn for keeping your glasses from steaming up....add white toothpaste to Dawn make a wet paste...wipe on glasses then wipe off. Works great!
Never heard that one before! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Years ago I got grease on a pair of jeans. All I had was baby wipes. It took all the grease off!
That's amazing! Do you remember what brand?
@@RoughandTumbleFarmhouse I think it was charmin or pampers. This was in 2000 sorry I don’t remember the exact name but I am pretty sure it was one of those two. It may have worked because I grabbed the wipes pretty much as soon as it happened so the dirt and grease didn’t have time to sit and soak in 😊
It's the Dawn breaking the grease, not the baking soda.
Yes that’s right. It is the emulsifying agent.
@@RoughandTumbleFarmhouse The baking soda is not needed. I have been a dry cleaner for 34 years and to this day, I have never needed baking soda for any stains.
@@shanesmith6941 I'm so glad just the soap has worked for you in the past. I've tried just the soap and it doesn't work as well for me as it does using the baking soda. But hey as they say, if it ain't broke! Glad your method keeps your clients happy! :)
@@RoughandTumbleFarmhouse Just FYI, I have found that the BLUE Palmolive works better than Dawn.
Did you mean teaspoons?
Nope! Tablespoons.
Did this and it didn't work whatsoever
Oh no I’m sorry to hear that! Couple things. First, this isn’t for general food stains so if it isn’t for sure grease you’ll need something different. Next, folks in the comments have had luck with trying it a couple times on really stubborn stains. Lastly, a few commenters have said adding a few sprays of hydrogen peroxide works really well. I have tried that myself so I don’t know for sure in that one. Hope something works for you. 😊
Did this and it faded the color in my shorts and even left the stain somehow.
Oh no I'm so sorry to hear that! I haven't had that happen before and you are the first that has commented with that issue. I'm so sorry that happened but thank you for commenting so folks know it might be a risk.
@@RoughandTumbleFarmhouse I appreciate your response and I understand that there’s always a risk when using a product to clean. I should have tried a small area first, as I used it on a cotton-linen blend so maybe that’s why.
Great video and right to the point. Thanks so very much! I usually put Dawn on the stain, rub it in really good, and then run it under scalding hot water from the faucet. It usually works but sometimes I have to do it twice so I’ll definitely try your method!
I hope it works well for you!
Thank you! I can't even guess how many clothing items that I really liked but had to get rid of because of grease based stains that I couldn't get out. Looking forward to trying this. You seem like a sweetheart too :)
Yes I was in the same boat! Hope it works well for you and thanks for the kind words. :)
Music is a distraction!! We came to hear you, nobody came to be entertained by music!
Yep if you read the FAQ in the description I cover the music issue.
Thank you 🙏 for this tip!!
You're so welcome!
Wow thank you for sharing this recipe, I will be trying this today.
I hope it worked for you!
In summary, a paste of baking soda and dish soap, with a little water if paste gets too dry. Massage in while stretching the fibers at different angels. Wait 15 minutes, then wash. SO skeptical. I tried it on a light-colored synthetic when other attempts had failed, and... BOOM, it worked.
I'm so glad it worked for you! :)
Great video, is it possible to do it without the "milk heating" phase at the start?
You can try! It needs to incubate at a warmer temperature and heating it up some first helps maintain a warmer temp.
I have a nice black hoodie that’s really expensive. There’s 1 tiny dark black spot on it. Would this be safe to do on my hoodie Mam ? Plz and thanku
I would personally go for it but you could try a spot test if the solution on the inside of it somewhere to make sure it doesn’t change your fabric’s color at all.
@@RoughandTumbleFarmhouse thank you so much !
Thank you so much for this tip!!!
Happy to help!
DAWN
Hi! Just wanted to share my thanks for this video. I had a favorite tank top stained with grease and couldn't get the stain out, thought I'd have to to use it just for sleepwear, but your method worked! Thank you!
Glad it helped!
I find if I apply full strength Dawn on the stain, adding a few drops of water, then allowing the clothing to set for about an hour before putting the stained items into the washing machine usually enough to get them pretty clean.
I'm so glad that worked for you! I haven't had much luck with just the dawn. I wonder if it depends on the type of oil/grease.
Thank you. I didn't think of this idea. Dish soap mixed with baking soda and a bit of water is also good for cleaning the oven. I thought the soap would make it stick better to vertical and upper horizontal surfaces and it worked. Soaking the racks in baking soda and water also made it easier to clean them. I soaked them for 6 hours.
Great tip!
I will try this for sure ,thanks
Hope it works for you!
