I wouldn’t suggest closing the door during the day on the very first day. At night, though, gently closing the door is recommended. Just make sure to stay close during those first few nights-sleeping next to the crate will help! Over time, they’ll feel more comfortable with the door closed! 🐾🌙

It's best to teach your puppy where it can go potty. If you were to use a diaper it still doesn't understand where to go potty in the future.

However, if your puppy is really upset, like the person mentioned, you might want to try a different approach. A dog playpen can be a good alternative. It gives your puppy more space and doesn't have a top, which might help them feel less confined. Just remember, playpens don't have the same potty training benefits as crates because they're bigger. Crates help puppies learn to hold their bladder since they don't want to mess up their sleeping area.
