Hey guys. My Name is Dylan and I am from New Zealand. I have been streaming and making TH-cam content since late May 2023. Our main videos on this Channel were around DC Dual Force which has now been shut down. Now we do Gwent videos for YT and occasionally a game review if we find something new and interesting. We also stream Marvel Duel once a week on Mondays (11:00am NZST) Gwent is on Wednesdays (11:00 NZST)

This Precision Strike Deck is Kinda Scummy | Gwent Homebrew
This is our Final ST deck and it seemed the sort of leader ability that leads to a very heavy control style and we wanted to make good use of traps before we left ST behind. So here it is, was actually not bad but I had fallen to rank 5 so not sure how it holds up ranks 3-1

This might be the WORST Dwarf deck around. Whoops | Gwent Homebrew

This is our Sixth ST deck and Dwarves seem to have a lot of variance in the way they can be built...but this probably isnt one of them. We have taken elements of a heavy armour type, a heavy damage type and a board flood type and jammed them all together as we were scrap limited. I still got some wins but I had dropped back to Rank 5 so they were expected. www.playgwent.com/en/decks/a1e7bf56d0b...

The way you pronounced deck , had me laughing. In a good way 2:18
Im gonna myself try this game, before i touch Witcher 3 the Wild Hunt and decide to buy that.
WTF I WAS WAITING FOR THIS TO COME OUT ON MOBILE
Hahahahahahhahahaha new it Marvel is clowning DC
I’m late to the funeral. Having just seen tutorial by TH-camr Cimooo, I’m sure this could work in some way eventually. Didn’t see any Promotion for it, so that’s another shot in its heart.
You missed a great game...with issues, but a great game
Common DC L
Unfortunately yip
Oh man, what a play. I suggest You to known mechanics of Gwent to do not waste time You nobody anymore. Good luck
allow me to give you a tip sir: whenever you play a trap next to another trap it automatically activates (its spring version), so if you don´t want to use its spring version, play the trap next to an allied elf unit or in a empty row. My best regards.
Appreciate the tip! I didn't know that either lol
Thanks for letting me know! someone was kind enough to tell me during the stream, I felt really silly when it outright says that in the description of spring
The deck could be actually very good if you went the control route (since brouver + defender is prolly too expensive for you). The Dennis could be a lock or removal. Anyway, Skellige is just more fun. I personally play Alchemy in pro
Yeah Alchemy is what Im looking forward too most for SK. Yeah I kept saying on stream Dennis needed to come out haha
They didn’t make this mobile? That’s crazy lol
Yeah, I don't think they were ready for a full release but there was pressure to do so and they didn't have the mobile build ready yet. Thats all assumption though
I only have 4/4 heroes, thor, spideman, stsr lord and Cap. No option for unlocking other heroes. Do you know why? Or its because of ther server?
Each season reset you gain the ability to unlock new heroes as well as have your max rank for the season increase. It is also possible to manually advance the season but resources are much more abundant pre-current season so try finish season pass before you do a manual reset and dont manually reset too close to the scheduled reset (again so you can collect all the goodies on the season pass) Completing the hero trial for each new super hero will get you close to unlocking the heroes starting deck but in later seasons you will still need to acquire the Epic and legendary from the starting deck via crafting or opening in packs.
please post decklist in description of the video:).or give decklist in the comments.
Hi thanks for letting me know. In the description now
It's mediocre archetype but you should look for a deck if you can't create your own. Your deck is rly bad
Multiple times in videos I have referenced that we are not playing refined lists, as a newish player my learning process is to build my own and then see what sticks, sometimes we don't get there. I am ok with that we will revisit most archetypes in the future with more experience and cards
It's very strong especially with Renfri. It's not top tier, though. Sheldon isn't very good either. Can lack consistency, too.
Interesting regarding the torque, most of the decks I checked still ran him but cut the sheldon but I can see how it would be better to just directly buff the cards you want to rather than relying on randomness of Torque. Also I'm pretty sure Renfri plus her goons just carries literally any archetype into not bad even if not great
@@CombatPanda007 my apologies, I've fixed it. I was referring to Sheldon Torque is an absolute must in a hand buff deck. 😂 🤦🏻♂️ There's a couple of optimal handbuff decks going around. The Nekker version is very solid, too.
My opinion? It's bad, but I've only gotten up to rank one (once!) in my long history of Gwent, so I'm no expert. But when I'm up against it, I know their finishers are: a) Aglais, b) Torque, or c) both. Mix in a big ol' Sheldon Skaggs, and you have a good probability of knowing three of their cards. When facing Handbuff, you obviously want to win round one and then try to get them to play one (or both!) of their finishers. They'll have nothing left in round three. Now that you're managed to get me back into Gwent, I'm ready to leave again! I hate this season, and I'm still mired down in rank 12. Every other opponent is playing Nofungaard. For all the hate that faction gets on Reddit, people still sure love playing it. Enough already! Thanks for your vids!
I have gained a deep dislike for skellige. Nowadays I run into Nilfguard think oh well..but the insane amount of either pirate or warrior spam I seem to run into really makes it hard to play unrefined lists. but itll be my turn soon, oe month and Ill be on to Skellige..Nilfguard 2 months after
It's a horrible season purely because a couple of TH-camrs with large followings are dictating the balancing. 9/10 of their votes have been introduced last 3 season. That's why SK dominates. NG is now useless. Renfri is back at 14 when it was dominating at 15. Also, you're not missing out not getting to rank 1. 2-pro are boring as its the same 3 decks every match. Lower ranks offer far more variety. I now just get to pro and stop playing ladder and go to seasonals or draft. Draft can be a lot of fun.
Expected, no suprise actually..
Yeah, some of us were coping err I mean hoping it would be up long enough to iron the bugs, UI and new player experience out
Your math skills are rather extraordinary....at least compared to what I'm usually able to sort out in the time limit given! Are you an accountant/math teacher in real life?? Anyway, thanks for the videos, as always!
Chat always makes fun of my bad math lol. For every time you see me crushing quick math there is another time you probably don't see where I accidentally add numbers twice or something silly haha
Mill is so unbelievably corny, I cringe anytime I see it. To do all that milling of the opponents cards and still lose every time gotta be embarrassing.
I sadly lost to mill multiple times when I was trying to do Melitelle and I didnt like reinforcing the archetype for them. But yeah Silly Mill fgard
Well, thanks primarily to YOUR videos, I started playing Gwent again after (maybe) a year. (Skyweaver started getting dull for me and has a rather severe shortage of players right now.) Am I enjoying Gwent again? Well....a little. I still really hate Nofungaard and Reavers, though, and if anything, playing it again has only reinforced that hatred. Otherwise, it's kind of nice being back at it. And let's face it: NO CCG out there has artwork as absolutely esquisite as Gwent, and the wry humor that's on the cards makes it even better. (I'm stuck in rank 11 and have no ambitions to making pro despite having all the cards, primarily thanks to insta-forfeiting against Filthgaard more often than not.) As for this deck, I've tried it and variations of it several times. My main gripe is that it is w-a-a-a-a-a-y too easy to draw cards that would otherwise be tutored out by Tempest (Fog) or Simlas (Spring Equinox). I mean, that's four cards out of 25 that you really want to avoid drawing under most circumstances. Otherwise, yeah.....I really love Scoia'tael. Probably my favorite faction in Gwent. Anyway, keep up the good work!
Everyone hates reavers, the hate is warranted. Nilfgaard, I think hate towards double madoc, mill, clog, and the practitioner garbage is warranted, not so much to assimilate, soldiers, and spies so much, I think the warranted hate for the actually toxic decks overflows into the nontoxic ones and the entire faction is hated as a result
Yeah, Im really enjoying Scoiatel too, just realised I never released the extra footage for symbiosis. But also sitting down now to edit Harmony footage which also is heaps of fun. Glad you've been enjoying. Drawing the thinnable cards or rather not doing so was the ONLY priority during mulligan so I usually didnt mulligan if I had a chance of hitting one unless my hand was actual dogwater
I have specifically avoided Melitelle because of how complex she is and how much more you have to keep track of so props to you for taking her on!
Haha I'll be ready to play it right in 100 years
welcome to the game . Feel free to ask me anything I am currently rank 1 now
You need to setup Ban Ard and Aretuza students in r1 to get to 4. Also, in 2nd game you spend way too much alumni in r1 and in r3 you should've used 1 Alumni to kill Knut. Edit: You dont need 2 runewords. Or Envoy. Or Runemage.Try to find place for Winch and/or Amphibous assault. And change the strategem to Crystal skull so 1 student is protected by defender on range, and 1 is protected by the strategem in melee.
Same here....
I've managed to get a few wins with it now, much longer learning curve than I am used to however at least half the decks I run into do nothing BUT remove my units and I feel like learning to deal with those is going to take forever
@@CombatPanda007 What I do and I'm still trying is I try to play 2 atchitypes.. One with alumni and other with Ben Ard Tutor.. Or else if we just rely on the students, and they don't get high enough we're totally done for
I hate mages personally. I think it is typically more difficult than your typical deck, but when piloted correctly, they seem to be pretty good. Watch Dosen Casual Gamer pilot NR mages if you want a reference on how to pilot this deck
I went and checked a video of his using the meditating mages which was hilarious. No what I was trying to do but certainly helped. Thanks for the suggestion!
@@CombatPanda007 no problem, glad it helped, though Dosen makes every deck look easy. Dude is a goat of gwent
@@CombatPanda007 oh, BTW, you probably noticed, but Doesn's mage videos appear to both be somewhat of meme decks, so, the video can still be helpful, but idk if I'd copy the deck verbatim
@@Ryan-kb8ui Hes modest too, I've had him in chat and others chat and never even knew!
Reavers used to be mega OP back in the day.
They're still an absolute bane at lower ranks because you generally don't have the tools to deal with them

I just got into the game a couple of months ago so I'm just trying stuff out its ALL new to me :D
Old school deck power crept by now
Based on the scrap value and this being thrown together with a small collection I'm pretty sure it would've been underpowered at the time some of the cards in it were FIRST released haha
@@CombatPanda007 i remember self eater was most hated unit soon after but only for a month and MO got nerfed
Oh that's interesting to know! I wish I had ben playing this game back when there was still new content being released
I do lowkey love these wild lower rank decks. Your deck is thematically consistent and somewhat synergistic, but then you go up against opponent 1 playing Self-Wound-Pirates-Warriors-Alchemy. Buck. Wild.
Yeah I'm not looking forward to ranking up further, Apparently it starts to get real sweaty haha
@@CombatPanda007 Most people agree that between ranks 1 to 3 people mostly play netdecked meta lists. Late in the season, as in: about this time right now, it should be less of an issue, though, since most routine pro players have already hit pro. The start of the season when all pro players who didn't hit top 500 get deranked to rank 3 is much tougher. Although it's a bit tougher, I think it's a much better learning or training experience by that same token. On lower ranks, you can often just "stat check" your opponent, i.e. you win simply by having higher value cards and combos. With the upper ranks, most people play with similarly optimised lists so that the difference between victory and defeat more consistently come down to your macro and micro, knowing when to pass, bleed, push etc.
Nice theres should more room to improve most of them gonna came from experience anways. Should kill that Draig from 1st game that card is a Big threat engine that grows every round 1pts carry over. SK are mostly graveyard shenanigans you can add like squirrels or lemmens to remove some of them. These cards also good to remove echo cards or any threats on graveyard.
Yeah, I'm definitely seeing why I see squirrels in so many decks
Another great vid 😊
Thanks for watching!
Great vid 😊 I love relicts
Cheers! They are quite interesting and I see there were still heaps of other cards I could have explored like unicorn etc. Will revisit Relicts sometime in the far future with a fuller collection
I'm a long time fan of relicts, built hundreds of variations. The deck looks good but the first thing I see that will keep you from climbing further and further is a lack of consistency cards. Relicts does tend to be a greedy deck but IMO needs tutors, thinning and damage to actually get better. If you're looking for a more versatile version of relicts I would recommend either Renfri or Golden Nekker to add some more depth to the archetype. Renfri can be hit or miss with her Curses and Blessings unless you run Runemage, but Nekker truly is a blessing for any deck. If you want to stick with the Witches Sabbath version I would think about swapping some of the lesser needed relicts for something like Royal Decree, Oneiromancy, Roach/Knickers, Wild Hunt Riders, Arcane Tome, really just anything that either pulls other things out of the deck or automatically thins itself out of the deck. Consistency is King on Gwent. You can't rely on your deck to always give you the cards you want every time, you know? You don't have to go overboard, but, getting into a routine of adding some of those tools will take you a long way in keeping a winning formula going. I can also add some pointers to the original version of the things you should keep in mind when building Relicts. * Selfeater is huge bait. Expect this card to be deleted or damaged beyond usability. If these are being kept you should consider using Carapace as a leader so you can add some "umph" to their power as you see fit. * In the homebrew I use to use it was always to my opponents surprise that in round 1 I had set up my Gan Ceann's basepower to be stacked in the graveyard using a couple Teleportations on them. Gan Ceann of course uses this to it's advantage and keeps adding that base power for keeps, giving you *_insane_* value in later rounds when paired with Witches Sabbath or Incubus, unless of course you have taller cards in there. * Defender (Cave Troll) is always a solid strategy. Cards like Selfeater and Rat Catcheress are famous for getting knocked out against control decks, which, are entirely too common to come across these days so it's something to think about especially if we Based Relict Enjoyers can get Yaga through again during Balance Council. (If we get her to 10 provisions I will show this entire game an oppression the likes of which not even Nilfgaard themselves can compete with, in fact I'd even say I'd have Ehmyr himself blushing.) * You're definitely in the right having Heatwave. If you can manage (two) tall removals that would be ideal as so many players have at least 1 pointslam card per round. I myself always add 2 tall removals in addition to heatwave because you never know when it's needed on a Scenario. In later iterations I also liked having two Mastercrafted Spear cards for mid-range removal when I would run into Elves or Pirates. Something else to consider with Relicts is that so few of us are out there; Eskel is a decent way of outright destroying any threats because his condition is very Relict-friendly. Aerondight is a powerful tool for removal as well, especially on Blue Coin. Another weaponized synergy would be to employ Operator and Hen Gaidth to spawn yourself a free Selfeater and give youself a target to kill on the next turn. Like I like to say; "When in doubt, Swords come out".
Hey, thanks for watching and all the feedback. All of your feedback is correct however with me aiming for a new deck each week scraps continue to be an issue. (after crafting cards for drones/organics next week I had 30 scraps left) But I am nearly level 60 so scraps will start improving soon. There will also be a level of poor optimization as I progress simply because I want to use as many cards that can synergize with each leader power as possible just for my own curiosity and discovery, a lot of decks I check have like 13/25 cards being neutral and often repeated and thats cool and very scrap friendly as you can carry them through but for myself with so many things I havn't tried...very boring. Oneiromancy and Aerondight are very high on my craft list with royal decree being something on my radar once I can reliably carry over scraps each week. Mastercrafted spear is obviously a bronze if you were running 2 so I will definitely look at crafting those to help with some control in some future lists as I do generally like a good amount of it. Regarding thinning I have seriously considered adding wild hunt riders (as I already own them) to so many lists. I only have the one monsters list left to play before I hit northern realms but I'll definitely keep thinning in mind also. I also nearly crafted cave troll over the heatwave after my 5th onslaught Skellige in a row but decided heatwave will be useful the whole way through not just for monsters. Once I have tried every leader and their obvious synergy cards I will definitely be looking to play much more optimal lists so keep the feedback coming so I can keep learning. Oh also, a lot of the cheaper neutral cards often don't make my lists as I simply don't remember they exist, I have more recently started having a closer look at some of the neutrals.
@@CombatPanda007 I understand. It's a slow grind getting everything you want. It sounds like you have an illustrated game plan ahead of you though. Glad to see you aboard!
you need "scorch"
Thanks for the suggestion, Scorch at only 200 scraps is something I should be able to weave in easily
As soon as I saw your second opponent play the Practioner, I groaned and wondered if Tibor spamming was still a thing in Gwent. Apparently....yes! What's so maddening is that they have to get things lined up JUST RIGHT for everything to work, and yet it always seems it does somehow. Arrrgh! If you find yourself really enjoying Gwent, you might want to try hopping on more often than once a week. It really helps to get to learn some of the Nilfgaard/Syndicate tricks of your opponents, especially. Enjoyed the vid, as always.
I'm usually hopping on often enough to get daily quests done so like do 3 quests 2x a week and then jump on to smash 1 quest somewhere in between. I definitely could be playing more to get more familiar with things. In terms of the content side I currently am only really just managing to stitch together a new deck once a week due to scrap limitations but once I hit the first prestige I should eventually be able to accelerate that.
It's interesting to see how many newer Gwent players gravitate towards the Monsters faction! I guess it's just the sheer number of points they can generate! (Well....and the fact that Syndicate and Nilfgaard are not really meant for newcomers, since they both require their own more advanced set of skills.) Best wishes to your continued success.
Chat told me to go monsters first stream haha they seemed good enough. Hit my first wall at rank 7 playing a deathwish/consume deck. I also versed approx 75% Niflgaard who kept beating me by 1-3 points with my own damn cards
One of the quests tells me to complete star lords 10 star bursts challenge and i have no idea what that means
Please help
It means to get the 'superhero' starlord (bottom left of menu) to level 10 which the level 10 part has a requirement to own specific cards. Each of the 'superhero's has this on their achievement tab
Heyo if you want to know monsters archetypes here they are... Wild hunt frost dominance with white frost, vampire bleeding with blood leader, ogroids might with veil leader, relic sabbath with woodland leader, thrive deck with woodland or fruit leader, insectoid organic spam deck with drone leader, deathwish consume deck with hunger leader. There are also 1 card decks in which decks revolve around 1 main card: Kheltullis deck that play with veil leader, viy deck with hunger leader and for more advanced there is tatterwing deck with low power units. Also fruits deck works well with etheriel and bloody misstress.
Cheers man
This game looks really interesting. Thanks for showcasing it!
You are so welcome!
speaking of autobattler, have you played yi xian cultivation card game yet? its pretty good. it's also super F2P since the monetization is more on skins. you can even get the skins with grinding
Oh that's quite new. I'll check it out, I might play it this Friday
Interesting video. Do you know when this is getting an official release?
2 years ago Never made it out of Asia yet has an english version for some reason. As I said though you still have to log in to google for it so its all above board
Strange they never released it globally. @@CombatPanda007
wow, awesome i got this recommended lmao. hey panda! this is Yarra, hope you've been doing well. unfortunately, i know very little about gwent, so i can't actually say much about the video itself, but i've been really into Screenplay lately and there are a bunch of other DCDF people joining the community, so even though it's probably too low-interest to be streaming it right now, would appreciate you dropping by and checking it out
I tried Screenplay already definitely not for me unfortunately glad you and others are enjoying it though
Also you should definitely try Gwent
@@CombatPanda007 Why don't you like ScreenPlay? I think the game is very good over all
@@CardGameEmporium I'm in agreement with @CombatPanda007 here. I gave up on that game while playing the tutorial. Just not for me, either. Different strokes for different folks, as they say!
Hard to explain when you just don't like something. I didn't have fun playing, it was a chore for me. I also experienced a lot of bugs that are probably gone now but when the game crashes 10 times of the 12 I log in as well as various other issues quite off putting.@@CardGameEmporium
Hey im very happy i found new gwent player that is competent. I will gladly follow you on your jurney throu discovering gwent and its vast content.
Thanks man! I just built and played a bleeding deck on stream yesterday so am in the process of clipping then editing that. Should be ready for the weekend
I'm here!
Aaaah, the joys of playing against Nilfgaard (or, "Nofungaard") as I called them. These games reminded me of why I left Gwent. But it's a truly wonderful game and I'm glad to see you playing it. I may just pick it up again. As for that second game, you learned the hard way--as I did a few times!--that it doesn't pay to be the gentleman and pass with a card in hand when you "think" you will win. I've lost a few games that way myself! Thanks for the video; it's always fun to watch Gwent.
There will be more Gwent coming. Ill remember to do shorter videos though. I went with the old formula of 3 games per video and it wasn't until I was uploading I realised it was 40 mins long. But anyway I'm commiting now that we have experimented a bunch to playing Gwent once a week so assuming I have a new deck ready each week I will do one Gwent video a week
@@CombatPanda007 Great! Looking forward to them!
