    I did this run many years ago in a whitewater canoe. Wow, Velvet Falls looks nothing at all like I remember it... I guess this is geology in action (reacting to these fires and subsiquent erosion/deposition). When we did it, it was low water in August and there was a fire burning while we were on the river.

    Lol big R3 and R2 is a hidden gem amongst adrenaline folks. Everyone is focused on big wave surfing, but those guys don't paddle into a wave they know for sure is going to eat them. Lol this wave was taking your lunch and you all knew it. Epic.

    such a great video to watch. I've done the Middle Fork (put in below Dagger) in a WW canoe at very low water and this is a whole different river. We probably all would have died within 5 minutes at this level... maybe 6?

    That rocked! You rocked! Bitch on wheels! Spin cycle in the hydraulic washing machine. Yes he got that and WE GOT THAT.. What was that, a Class VIII? Great runs before that too. Love the D Rings on the back of the PFDs. Industrial. Liked the "right 8" with the homemade paddle too. Stay safe out there and keep that mini SCUBA tank handy.

    awesome. i just got my outfitter I from nrs and have had the force for a few yrs but found i swim a lot so i’m trying the bigger tubes. question- how are u rigging the ik camera (pvc I’m assuming) and what stabilization setting are u using? your footage looks more realistic than what i see when im stabilizing. thnx appreciate your posts!

      Awesome I think you’ll love the Outfitter! I use a GoPro sticky mount on the stern and then use the gooseneck or the boom and adhesive mount. It’s the highest stabilization setting for the Hero I have

      @@thewhitewaterstate I showed up to a pre-season Yampa with a double Mr heater and 5 gal bottle of propane to run it. I was ridiculed until the 8" of snow fell that night LoL Great vid I have done the main 3 times but no middle.. Some Day..

    The blowouts have completely changed the river. Glad I did it a bunch when it was still the middle fork. You think you’ve “saved” an area, but there’s no getting away from what’s happening to the planet.

    Brian, thank you for your efforts in recording this and others of the amazing reformations of the top of the middle fork! I ended up doing a self shuttle solo trip down from the top, launching September 25th 2023. I will be up the relive that trip of my life by viewing this video. Thank you, thank you! I also did a 4 day 0 Portage with 1 swim in Kramer. Also, a big shoutout to Outfitters: Far & Away and Helfritch, for buck sawing out the logs.
