Building a Mechanic’s Garage: Metal Siding
Metal Siding. Even the armadillo making its morning rounds says “let’s get to work, boys!” To be fair, it was pushing 100 degrees with heat advisories most days. One day, it was just two guys working. And they worked on July 4th, so we provided them with a homestyle grilled burger lunch.
The building isn’t complete yet in this video, but things are starting to come together.
Sure a typical building was two tone. But I am not the average person. The only requirement was that Homeboy wanted wainscoting. I really like the color matching rivets. And one of these days I’ll be painting those doors, too.

Great job ! What’s the purpose of painting it black first ?
Thank you! ❤ That is a great question! I chose to paint with black first so that I had a base coat of paint on the entire project. It helped cover any of the white from the air dry clay and the brown cardboard. I knew the overall look I was going for would be dark and moody, so going with black would create the depths and shadows. Any color could work, it doesn’t necessarily have to be black. Thanks for asking! My apologies for just now seeing this comment. 😊
