    I think it great to see someone doing the gap creek run at under 100 CFS. Two summers ago, I led a crew of co guides down at 60 CFS. It was wild to see pre falls and verde falls while un runnable. I would love to compare stories sometime.

      We put in at the bridge off the US60 in between Globe and Show Low...We got out at the Cibecue Access Point about 6.5 miles down river. You can go to Mile 8 on the daily section, but Cibecue Creek was running high...so we didn't cross with trucks. You need a daily permit from the White Mtn Reservation...check out the full 52 mile section that we did in April 2022. We take out at the Bridge above Roosevelt Lake. You need a Rec.gov lottery permit for that though. th-cam.com/video/rteXPfopWVk/w-d-xo.html

    Looking st doing this next spring. Is the cfs of this video considered low at this time of year (mid April). I have sit on kayaks not inflatable. It looks like they'd take a beating with as rocky as this looks.

    Always bring quality cameras and find good spots down river. At every technical rapid you can. That way you can get lots of good pictures of the less skilled. Glad you all had fun. I have boated those flows and they make for some nasty rock gardens.

    • @adamcomstock4351
      @adamcomstock4351 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      About 12 hours with a lot of breaks.(long break by Gila River) We got a late start (9am ish) driving out from Peoria. It was also in the 90's that day so that slowed us down a bit too. We had to finish the last 6 miles or so in the dark so bring a light. Epic part of AZ though

      Super fun at the higher levels...I'd like to go all the way to Sheep's Bridge too...it's hard to take that much time off. That Shuttle to Sheep's Bridge is insane. Prob easier just to go to Horseshoe...

  • @adamcomstock4351

    I've never used them before...but saw a sign last year at Beasley advertising shuttle services. Don't know if they go all the way to Horseshoe, but it's worth a call. 928-821-0514...Good luck!!

    Great video, I'm stoked to run this river later in the summer. Where did you guys put in?

    • @bac4uw
      @bac4uw 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      We put in at the Sulphur Creek bridge, actually on Sulphur Creek. Further up river was fairly woody. About 1.5 miles in, there is one 90-degree right turn into a bank of logs that is worth getting out and relining up on the left side of the river. The river moves fast and would likely otherwise push you straight into the log jam. This river is difficult to scout from the road, but this 90-degree turn is one you can see. Otherwise, just keep your head up and watch out for boulders... the water is glacial till colored, which makes it difficult to river scout submerged rocks. We only did about 3-4 miles -- it was super fun, but tiring (esp. after a night of camping / whiskey).

    • @PanetMaster
      @PanetMaster 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cool, thanks for the advice. We're actually hoping to put in way further upstream, basically right at the base of Glacier Peak. We know that there are a handful of massive log jams that pose a serious threat though, so we're prepared to hike the ~15 miles down to Sulfur and put in there if things seem too burly. The river seems pretty linear from the satellite imagery; there don't seem to be many obvious eddies to save your ass before being swept straight into a jam. Here's our proposed route if you want to check it out. Chelan to the sound: www.hillmap.com/m/ag1zfmhpbGxtYXAtaGRychULEghTYXZlZE1hcBiAgICw5dW1Cgw

      +Joshua Hawks What day are you leaving? We're doing the same stretch as the video again starting 4/4...I couldn't get everyone to take enough time off to do the full thing. Water levels seem to be holding somewhat...fingers crossed!! Hopefully better than last year

      We will be on the river 3/25 - 3/28. The lake is full so the last 4 hours will be mind numbing.
