I commercially guided on that river off and on for years. So pretty.

Great video, I'm stoked to run this river later in the summer. Where did you guys put in?

We put in at the Sulphur Creek bridge, actually on Sulphur Creek. Further up river was fairly woody. About 1.5 miles in, there is one 90-degree right turn into a bank of logs that is worth getting out and relining up on the left side of the river. The river moves fast and would likely otherwise push you straight into the log jam. This river is difficult to scout from the road, but this 90-degree turn is one you can see. Otherwise, just keep your head up and watch out for boulders... the water is glacial till colored, which makes it difficult to river scout submerged rocks. We only did about 3-4 miles -- it was super fun, but tiring (esp. after a night of camping / whiskey).

Cool, thanks for the advice. We're actually hoping to put in way further upstream, basically right at the base of Glacier Peak. We know that there are a handful of massive log jams that pose a serious threat though, so we're prepared to hike the ~15 miles down to Sulfur and put in there if things seem too burly. The river seems pretty linear from the satellite imagery; there don't seem to be many obvious eddies to save your ass before being swept straight into a jam. Here's our proposed route if you want to check it out. Chelan to the sound: www.hillmap.com/m/ag1zfmhpbGxtYXAtaGRychULEghTYXZlZE1hcBiAgICw5dW1Cgw
