Hello, In the tools menu, the yellow one that looks like a wrench, go to tab 5 - Custom Shooting Mode (C1,C2) then register settings, then choose if you want it on C1 or C2. Hope this helps :)

@@williambo5989 for something like that I’d take it off of eye detection. Then depending on the size of the group and distance from them I’d go with a higher f-stop for a larger depth of field. Set your focus point to someone in middle of the group. If you’re pretty close and it’s a large group f6 would be to open of an aperture. Try something like f11-16

@@josefmusil2307 I’m still playing with it and liking it a lot. Masking is kind of where I’m having issues, I miss being able to intersect, add and subtract different mask. I’m still learning though. I also miss the object select mask tool where you can paint your object. However, I have really liked the edits I’ve done since buying the program.

@@MODESTYXO205 That’s a tough one. I do love Canon, but I used a Sony A7iiis as a DP on a friend’s film and I did really like it. If I were doing mostly films I’d really look into that fx3 it looks amazing. If I was mainly doing TH-cam content with some short films every once in a while I’d look into that zve1. For the price difference you could get a nice piece of glass to go with it too.

@@codenamegrimlock7510 If you have AF on and it’s not working at all I would do a system restore and try it then. If it’s still not working after that I’d send it in for repair.

@@codenamegrimlock7510 In the yellow tabs in the menu there should be a reset camera option. I’ve never used the 1Dx but that’s where it has been on all my other canon cameras.

@@GremHopkins I’d have to try it for myself to see. What I’ve heard is the 1.4 is great on a really good lens like an L-series, but not so much on cheaper lenses. I haven’t heard a lot of good things on the 2x concerning sharpness. If I could borrow either I’d certainly give it a shot though.

@@Rupertcockapoo I have no doubts about the quality of that lens on the R8. The thing I’d be concerned with is the reach. 500mm is one of my favorite focal lengths for bigger critters but for birds you might find yourself wanting a little more.

@@aranelchanThe Canon 200-800mm is listed as weather resistant. This lens is listed as weather sealed equivalent to an L-Series lens. You had me double guessing myself, but that’s what I remembered and going to the canon site just now confirmed that.

@BrentTouchstone Ah, I was recalling without checking. But when I check, the Canon Europe website states that the RF 200-800mm has "dust and moisture resistance equivalent to our pro L-series lenses". Of course, since Canon doesn't provide IP ratings or anything similiar, we don't know for sure without possibly destructive testing that one L lens truly has weather sealing equivalent to another L lens!

I plan on doing a deeper review of this lens however I don’t shoot a lot of portraits anymore. It’s something I may try though.

I’ve only used the EF version of that lens and it’s been a while, but I would say I’m happier with this on the R8 then I was with that on the 6D.

The video comparison was 2.8 and the train-yard pics were taken at 2.8 as well. I think the photo comparisons were f8. I can check back when I’m with my computer again. I’ve been real busy, sorry for the delayed reply.

@@xberel09 The L-Glass its sourced straight from Canon site same as the weather sealing, the two main reasons I bought the lens. I agree about the sharpness with primes. The color render is really great with this and the focus breathing or lack of for video is amazing. Thanks for the comment.
