I was young and drummer when I made this video. Thanks for watching lol ! I would say these budget lights come with some drawbacks. The budget brads still have issues compared to the budget lights on eBay. Quality is about the same. Always order some extras for when you find some fixtures with issues.
I like the soundcraft pre amps. They are highly slept on.
They are very slept on. One of my favorite consoles to work on.
A CL1 & CL3 in the same venue 🤯. In the US, church donations must be huge.
We have another CL3 in the back you didn't see lol Yeah here in the US the competition between Churches has gotten so high that they are all small concerts now.
This happened to mine on day 1. Luckily it wasn't at a show. I sent it right back.
At least you’re in warranty! Mine has phantom touches so I rendered it useless and behringer won’t fix it

I had the x32 wing and had same issue sent it back and spent a bit more cash and got the Allen and Heath SQ7
No such thing as an X32 Wing lol. Those are two separate models… 1) X32, 2) Wing.
This is my fear… full size wing has been out, like 4 years…had its screen issues, so they should have learned from that. This is why i’m not buying one until i see 6 on the showroom floor in a music store. I won;t be first adopting, and i’ll be rolling my x32 compact awhile longer.
Growing pains for sure. Sticking with the x32 wont hurt. I don't think mine was the only one with the issue, but time will tell. Thanks for watching!
@DCAVL , the WING's display swivel mechanism and wiring hasn't changed in 5 years, and it had been QA tested for long-term stability. Moving the bezel completely up should certainly not be an issue. Once again, we're truly sorry you've received a faulty unit and we hope it is fixed meanwhile. If there’s anything else we can do to assist you, please reach out via support ticket and request to forward your message to our lead engineer in Germany.
@behringer, thanks for reaching out. My retailer offered to send me another one. I just got it yesterday. I'm about to open it up now. I'm hopeful and excited to mix with the Wing Compact on most of my shows in 2025. I will reach out with a support ticket if anything should happen with my new Wing. Thank you

Man that sucks! I've done ablut 30 shows on my wing compact now with 0 issues! (At least the issues ive had have been me routing things wrong, notably for w-live recording!)
I’ve had mine about 3 weeks or so and this concerns me. So far I haven’t ran into any issues. I will post on here if I do. I hope you get this resolved asap.
They got me a new one! Good thing I kept the box it came in. Shipped it back and got another one ready for a show. I'll be posting my shows on the console as soon as I can. Thanks for watching!
The yellow lights don't mean there is no connection. It means the stageboxes are on an older firmware version. They will work just fine.

@@DCAVL The AES50 protocol was updated. Apart from being able to connect a wing to the B-side of a stagebox, another cool feature was added. If you have two wings, say one at FOH and one at Monitors, you can make one a master of sorts. Any channels that you pass through on the AES50 line, can also send info like name, image and colour to the other mixer. So during changeover, the monitor tech can change the used channels and the FOH mixer adjusts automatically.
If you are comfortable with opening the case reseat the cable that goes up to the screen.
I thought about it, but I called and they were able to send me a new one. Hopefully we don't get good at reconnecting that cable during shows. Thanks for watching!
Sounds like your firmware file might’ve gotten corrupted which I’ve seen a few threads about recently. There’s a way to access the board’s “hard drive” by plugging usb into a computer and accessing it like a USB drive. You can then delete the potentially corrupted new Firmware and reinstall a new version (or an older firmware to get up and running again and be safe)
Press and hold SETUP button while powering on console to make it seen as a USB drive on computer

@@jjax633 maybe just a bit. I do think it's worth it. But maybe waiting a little longer if you can. Besides you might get something from Midas soon.
same thing happened to me. I had to send mine back the Sweetwater for warranty. Mine happened when I tried to do a firmware update.
A behringer product with issues? Fortunately I learned my lesson over 30 years ago buying some compressors from the b word.
A: Calm down. Lol. It's early production, there's gonna be some kinks in mass producing these things. B: Send it back, wait for a new one. Sucks to have to wait, but until the Wing craze has died down and stores actually have inventory on hand on a regular basis - you can't just swap it out. Have to be patient. My Wing Rack isn't scheduled to arrive until April, so I'm the king of patient right now. Lol. I'll be hanging onto my X32 Rack (and DL32 stage box, keeping the Midas flavor), probably forever, for a backup (always good to have!). I run my shows on an iPad, so the screen isn't required (but it's very cool to have/look at!). I feel for ya, but it will eventually all be ok. :)
Maybe for the first full-size wings in 2019, sure. But IMO there is no reason 5 years of smoothing out those production glitches shouldn't carry over to the compact and rack versions.
@@RicoVig Same could be said for cars, but a new model rolls out, and there's usually a few bugs to iron out in the first couple of batches. A lot of people will wait a year or so, for exactly that reason.
it's not early production... they've been making wings for years. it's called behringer is a shit company, with shit QC, and zero support.
A lot of the music venues in my area have midas/behringer stageboxes and consoles. Most of the bands I work with have an x32 rack for ears. So for me the wing was going to be the closes thing to an sq5 that would work for me. If I was an idipendent company that didn't work as much with venues I might have gone with A&H or Yamaha. This WingC was just kinda the next best thing for the ecosystem I'm kinda stuck in.
It's a manufacturing defect for sure. A lot of units didn't experience this. I think you should deploy the warranty as some already said. Hope they don't take a lot of time to get another one back to you...

And this is why you pay Allen & Heath money. Behringer have amazing software, all the bells and whistles but have low build quality. This has always been their weakness. The faders, buttons are not it.
Allen & Heath is very nice. You can't go wrong with it.

@@DCAVL that's the main reason I am looking at the wing compact. 22 Chanels no matter if you have Dante or not is a limitation on the DM-3. I cannot believe in this day and age the DM-3 couldn't have had at least 48 channels over USB and/or Dante.
@JorgeParagliding I have the Same issue with it. I really liked the TF1. So I'd almost take that over the dm-3 but even then it's not really what I want. I don't want a Wing because it says Behringer. I want the Wing for its flexibility.

Sounds like it's time to deploy the warranty. Meanwhile, can you log in with a tablet or something? If so, then it's probably just the screen. If not there's bigger issues. If it was older, I'd go in looking for a loose/bad cable, but since it's new... warranty.
It's for sure the cable that feeds the flip screen. I was able to push on it with my hand and get it to work shortly before it lost connection again. My office desk is a tall barstool desk. So when I stand at the wing on my desk I need to flip the screen as tall as it goes. Turns out that's too much for that cable to stay connected.
I know someone who had the exact same issue happened to them on the original full size Wing!!
Can you factory reset it without the screen?
So I held the CLR SOLO button and turned the mixer on and it did "reset" the mixer, but the screen didn't come on.

Well, not your local Olive Garden, but Some small restaurants and comedy clubs that have small stages might want small moving lights.
just wish the console was released 2 months ago since it missed all of the last festival shows and will not be as useful in the winter. Not sure why only influencers are getting first dibs on this as the public have waited a long time for a new console from music group
Yeah, I wish they had this out earlier this year. I wish I had more time on it this festival season. I just got lucky and got the very first batch of these from my supplier. I’m sure the timing was on purpose, as a lot of people aren't going to change mixers in the middle of a season. So I’m sure they did this knowing most people will pick one up over winter and prep for next year's festival season. Thanks for watching man.

so, Do you often if not always output your mix in Mono or maybe center everything? just a question, great mix by the way!!
So here we do have the discussion of what is really best for broadcast. At one point we were thinking mono/center would be best as we don't know what the consumer would be listening on. Now I have gotten multiple comments about making it wider. So maybe that's not the right idea and we need to lean more into the stereo image.
this is my kind of groups I love to do sound for, I'm an advocate of great song arrangement and great dedicated singer, nothing beats that, my job as the engineer is to slip away into my creative mode and eat the cherry on top of a well baked cake like this one... woooow🔥🔥🔥🔥

I currently have the RM32Ai rack mount with the CS18AI control surface.Seems to be the precursor to these boards. I have always had very good luck with the board and it just sounds clean. Currently Waiting on my Wing compact.
Sounds really good. I wanna know how you eq'd everything. And like someone said, just widen it up a bit.
Good mix. Future spread those vocals out a little wider. Example 2 tenors left and right, etc. Those instruments needs to be wider and more air on the organ.
We do struggle with that because everything is mono currently. Good tips!
@@DCAVL If you want to take a mono source and spread it stereo, just duplicate it, pan them hard, EQ them a little differently, and put around 8-13ms of delay on one side. I definitely wouldn't do this for everything as it would become a mess. but to widen a mono electric guitar, I've had really great success with that! Also to pan say an acoustic guitar left, and it's reverb return equally right can be another way to widen things as well
You can add two additional Dante cards in the D21m option card slots for a theoretical maximum of 192x192 Dante channels across the three interfaces. They will all behave and operate as totally separate devices on the Dante network so be sure to rename them to make sense of which is which when patching
Perfect. We are all mono because we have so many instruments and vocal inputs we just couldn't fit in stereo inputs. So that extra card will give us some real room.
