Using Sayintensions for a couple of days now…amazing what it can do…..what I don t understand here, that Brian sounds like a radio voice ,while he is supposed to sound naturally sitting next to you

Imagine if SI and Vatsim could work together to handle handoffs from and to each other depending on available vatsim controllers. Like someone’s shift coming to an end and being replaced by another controller.

I wonder if you could implement that with PilotEdge when people fly out of their coverage area.

It would be cool if SI could send automatic reports via text or even voice (using the ai voice) while still flying on vatsim with the controller offline, so other pilots could still know your instentions.

I’ve been trying to figure a way to remain connected to Vatsim with just one PTT assigned to both. I was thinking you could have Vatsim tuned on COM2 and just turn off COM2 mic. But I think your TX action would still be picked up on VPilot, possibly stepping on some other pilot chatter. Also, as you near your destination in uncontrolled Vatsim space, you still need to announce your intentions to other pilots. So the only solution right now is to disconnect from Vatsim. Maybe in time Vatsim will allow SI COMs to be heard by all pilots only in uncontrolled airspace.

hey guys, great work, i don't know if it is possible, but in order to see another vatsim traffic and even coordinate with them when on unicom and to use SI aswell, why not separate ptt buttons? One for Vatsim and another to SI, this way you do not need to be offline.

As a VATSIM controller, I am not convinced by your solution to "fix VATSIMs coverage issue". I don't even see that coverage issue in the first place to be honest. I totally understand why VATSIMs response was "on the cold side of luke warm". Having controlled for over a thousand hours and flown on the network a similar amount since XP11 released, I never really got why people are so obsessed with VATSIM needing more ATC coverage, and that having too little controllers is an issue. VATSIMs main point has always been to be a multiplayer community to fly around realistically,and not to have full ATC anywhere all the time. There are VATSIM events if you want full coverage, if you fly during evenings in somewhat busy regions, you will most likely have ATC for most/all of your flight, and if you really want full human ATC there is PilotEdge which tries to address this "issue" by paying controllers to be there in a guaranteed timeframe. I do all my flights on VATSIM, even if there is no ATC online. Sometimes i don't even want full ATC for my flights. I am really impressed by your product, from a technical aspect it is amazing what the AI can do, and the increasing amount of features it has are awesome, great for many simmers who want full ATC. But I will likely never be a customer. Talking to AI ATC is just not my cup of tea -I prefer actual human interaction, which, as you said yourself, will always be better. I personally don't think you should combine AI and VATSIM. Not just because i personally not interested to talk to AI. But as long as you are on VATSIM, 122.800 or CTAF should be used to coordinate with other pilots there, which can be incredibly fun if everyone plays along. It doesn't even have to be "unrealistic". The point is to not be directed by your own AI that disregards all surrounding traffic. What happens if people use SayIntentions while still connected with VATSIM, will AI ATC give instructions conflicting to other VATSIM traffic? Will it try to "control" all the VATSIM traffic and keep it seperated? What happens with VATSIM users like me who do not use SayIntentions? Will you be tuning your radio to random other frequencies because AI tells you to, and then conflict with other VATSIM frequencies that might be used? Thats just some of the problems i see. You could say there's an easy solution - If you use AI, you should disconnect from VATSIM, but that is also not ideal. I just think it feels wrong to instantly disconnect from VATSIM if you leave ATC covered area. Remember controllers might log online if they see traffic to control. Less online traffic makes less motivation for controllers to come online, which gives you less overall ATC, which reduces peoples interest to continue the flight on VATSIM, so more people disconnect, you get the idea. This won't benefit our network in the long term. Also your idea of having AI send people to a VATSIM ATC when they log on is kind of problematic in my view. Since VATSIM controllers try to simulate ATC as real as it gets, there are many factors to consider from their side. How can AI determin valid routings, follow controller SOPs or LoAs that specify how ATC hands off aircraft between sectors, what about the ability for the recieving VATSIM controller to coordinate changes, delays, re-routings, etc. through AI, what happens if ATC logs on in an "AI controlled" airspace, will AI actually control the whole network or just individual pilots and thus cause a lot of conflicts? Thats just to name a few things i was thinking about spontaneosly, there is probably more. So I see quite a few issues that would need to be solved before an AI ATC would actually be a nice addition for VATSIM, but again, i don't think we need a solution for full ATC, because that has never been what VATSIM was for. People who complain about not having ATC here in my opinion don't understand the real point. Flying together with real people, having fun no matter if there is ATC or not. If you want full ATC, you can always use an AI tool for the whole flight instead. I don't see AI and VATSIM going together well, personally. At least with the current state it is in and the ideas you proposed. Curious how this will change in the future. Right now SayIntentions is already a great tool to replace default ATC and will change many flightsimmers experience to the positive side. Just not sure about how well it actually caters the demands of the VATSIM community. I definitely wish you good luck with your future development though, we'll see how things develop.

What an absolute hard worker you are my friend. You're one of the few people in the sim world that listens and desires to provide what we all want in our simulation experience.

I have a question about SI. Does SI use it's own navigation and ATC databases or msfs databases?

For me the biggest challenge of SI is the price modell. Sometimes I fly several times a week, sometimes I fly only a few minutes a month (due to business things). I dont want to pay for a period of a month, because I cant forecast my sim time.

The problem with getting the word out is the name SayintentionsAI. The name doesn’t fit the product. Even thou I was looking I missed this product for months because I saw the name here and there and I had no idea what it did and didn’t care. Later I asked chatGPT to give me a list ATC programs and Sayintentions was in the list. The name should more clearly define the product and attract on first sight. Just my take on it.

Why the Desi accent at KLAX ground? Yay! Helo support. BTW, will that map showing the taxi lines ATC ordered ever make it to the regular server? Liked it until I was uninvited the experimental server. I guess I will write out Say Intentions, on MSFS forum, rather than type SI. On it, Boss. Schmooze with those TH-cam influencers - GITBS, EasyJet, Squirrel, AvAngel, etc.

Swannsim does a couple of flights a week using SI. I'd say he's giving it a go for getting the word out and using it. Check him out.

You need to make a bigger splash with entourage, I don’t think it’s totally understood from looking at the slide how big this is!!! I hate to say this but kickstarter is one way to really build up big attention, it will attract some negative people and influencers but if your problem is awareness this could be one route to consider. Also maybe work with some airplane developers and get on there streams and discords, bluebird sim has great engagement with his content and this could help you tap into new audiences.

No AI traffic??

Thank you so much for doing all of this! Flight simming is necessarily seasonal for me in Minnesota when snow reduces my major responsibilities to career and shoveling the driveway. This will be the most exciting start to the season in the last 30 years. I’m probably more excited to begin using SI than FS 2024 itself! Signing up in November!

I totally agree with the decisions that you’ve made regarding traffic, and with the wait-&-see for MSFS 2024. Well done. Question: given the abstract nature of the “notes” that prescribe SIDs (alts, headings, et al) and the consequent difficulty in modeling exactly how to guide departures, would it make sense to introduce a “SID tuner” to try and bring some standardized structure to this flight component? Srsly, you guys are doing everything right. I just love this project, and as others have commented, I eagerly await every VtF episode!

For the search and rescue ops thing, if I understand correctly, all worldwide helicopter landing spots will be portrayed in MSFS. Because of this, you could play the role of a medevac helicopter pilot and fly from whatever its base is to local hospitals.

Was very concerned to hear VFR coding had been allowed to "degrade", but relieved to hear you're resuming efforts to restore it, and that you're moving forward with intentions to be compatible with FS2024. I'm legally blind, and can not use flight planners very well, and was also relieved to hear SI is geared toward the casual VFR pilots, as well as "heavies", and commercial pilots. Thanks for the discussion. Sorry I missed this live. :)

Has that odd, and unrealistic sounding electronic effect one hears when keying up to talk to ATC been done away with, yet? That's one thing keeping me from going for this product. However, I am glad to see the product does support VFR flight, as well as IFR. If I can ever afford the 200 to 300 dollars a year this product costs, I would check it out. At least, there's a free day of it, I've heard. Thanks for the video. ;)

One thing to point out for progressive mission/career activities is, if it's buggy at all there will be weeping and wailing and knashing of teeth from the crowd. This could have an impact on how well SI might work within the features.

got the demo but it looks like xplane 12 isnt recognised, even with xplane 12 launched it says waiting for simulator

Really enjoying the addon and it s flexibility and the human like responses. At the moment it feels more real than other alternatives, even without traffic injection because I am not really interested in a program ordering around other aircraft that are not real multiplayers, people. Rather wait for a future development where the AI can be heard ordering around other people, as in VATSIM, but then without all the insults and scolding. The flexibility of Say Int. feels more like global thinking, implementing new information on the fly, than linear thinking processes, as it were.

I have installed the latest Active Sky Beta from the HIFi website. Can you confirm the latest version of SI is 2.7.0.7 please?
