Finally got a clear understanding of gearbox linkage

if no oil, it was a problem of oil circulation. when you putted off the old piece, you noticed the absence of oil... you should have concluded the oil circulation was blocked on this piece... you should have pushed with air or with anything through the oil hole to disblock it... since the oil circuit was not cleaned there, the new piece was not oiled... so it soon came to ashes like the other one and the sound came back.

I did this last year to my Renault convertible, I parked it for the winter and today I got it back out, and when I got home and put it in reverse I lost gears again -_- I replaced the wire with a brand new one, so idk why this happened again :S Not sure what to do, I don't want to do all this work again if its just gonna fail again and again :(

Yes "belt too long", and so then you order the other one (no airconditioning), and then you spend 2 weeks driving around with no powersteering and manually charging the battery while you wait for delivery, and then you go "uh belt too short?!", and only THEN do you realize you were trying to put it on incorrectly >_>

That ain't no lifter dude. Sounds like a con rod. Looks like con rod. Needs crank turned, oil pump and over size bearings. Can't cheap out on that one as you discovered.

Lots of things you guys didn't even try. First of all you can't just replace only one and call it a day, you have to replace all and sand it a little to smoothen it.

my 2010 c5 1.6hdi has this problem .thought id found the fix here but going to have to scrap it.

Unlike the exact same type of Heat Flap Actuator ( Visteon vp1s7h-19e616-bb ) which is located behind the glove box, this one is really difficult to access. In the end, I used a 10mm Drill Bit to make a hole through the plastic directly in line with the screw. That way I was able to access the screw head with a torx driver easily. ..Obviously not ideal, but it worked well. :-)

Definetly those 2 are not mechanic... never grind rod cap... that crankshaft is toasted...and a new set of bearing?? With Standard thickness???

When you say take a little bit from the face of the bearing that is causing the rod knock u mean shave down the top of the outer or top side of the bottom bearing correct sorry blonde lol thank u just want to do it right so can move on and not have issues later. Tkx
