Nothing is written in stone!!!.. Some days, when I get out for a detect in our goldfields and feeling a little sore or tired, I make it my mission to walk over any loud target. What I consider is trash.. Concentrating only on small sharp signals What seems to pay off. Returning to the same patch on another day when feeling more active to dig the louder targets Don't let prospecting dictate you....

@@piratescrew1869 I definitely have my moments 🤣..
Nuggets or rocks just keep working to top of ground . Have you ever gardened? Every year I remove rocks from garden that weren't there previous year and not just small ones! They just keep working their way up so I presume nuggets no different
Great stuff nice to find one they missed cheers Glenno

On some really high grade gold ore in quartz, I used a long hot dog tongs to hold the specimen, and a propane torch to heat it up until it's glowing, then drop the specimen in cool water to shatter the quartz from the solid metal, i did this over and over until all the remained was the gold, regards
@@g-dcomplex1609 it's definitely nice gold bearing quartz. Thanks for the tip 👍 I still have 300 to 400 kilograms left to crush. I'll give it a go
@@NuggetHunter I also use a heavy duty stainless steel 5 gallon sauce pot to roast material by attaching a chain through both handles, i have a burn barrel with adequate ventilation to get the sauce pot glowing red when i have a bunch of wood burning, all I do is carefully pull the pot and set it on the ground, and from around 10 feet away, I fill the glowing pot with water from a hose, it boils for a half an hour, you may want to try this method with your material, I usually do this with a fair amount of black sands to crack, regards
@g-dcomplex1609 sweet I'll have to get my weber kettle going and load it up with charcoal
Hey I just found your channel. You asked for tips and advice. If you can heat your ore up to about 1000 degrees F and just drop it in water you can literally break the quartz apart with your fingers. The finer you can crush it the more you will recover. As for the panning, use the big ripples first, the small ones and then carefully the smooth side. When down to just the heavies or gold showing in the corners is when I stop. And then use the method you were trying. I’d wash the waste rock out the back leaving the heavy stuff up top. I think you had way too much water in there trying to wash it back. Ya got to think of it as a beach and you are creating the gentle waves. You can also make the water gently go in a circle then reverse course. I even alternate which side the water washes up from and it very effective keep the gold centered at the top. If you see and powder floating at all you need more jet dry. As for roasting and maybe even smelting. I think the best teachers I’ve found is mount baker mining on you tube, Jason knows his stuff, now has his own gold mine. Would also recommend Jeff Williams on you tube. Also from down under is Chris from Vargas prospecting. Not sure I spelled his last name right. All three channels will teach you all kinds tried and true methods. I I were a betting man and I am 😂 I bet you would get even more gold out of the pyrite material after roasting into a oxide and recrush to a baby powder level to re-pan, lots of jet dry for the powder stuff. You’ve got some very rich ore there it looks to me, guess the old timers didn’t get it all! Two safety things, hot rocks and cold water can be surprisingly explosive, don’t ask how I know so act accordingly. Even more concerning, when crushing quarts a respirator is an unfortunate must do. I hate it too but look up lung disease silicosis and bet you will have one on every time. It’s no joke! I look forward to future videos and best of luck finding and extracting the shiny stuff! Eric from North Carolina USA
I really appreciate your advice there mate.. your fingers must hurt after that write up 🤣..

@kaningraja2145 thank you and same to you.
Hi mate good find 🎉why the smaller coil does the bigger one mis the smaller ones or is it because of the area
Interesting because the video description indicates he's teaching something. I enjoyed the video and am going to look into this coil for myself. But to answer your question, smaller coils have higher sensitivity to smaller targets but with that sensitivity to small targets, you lose depth. Larger coils require a large eddy current to detect a target, but if you feed that much of an electromagnetic field into the ground, you'll will not be able to distinguish between targets and ground noise because every conductive pebble or pocket in that ground will be radiating eddy currents which makes ground balancing impossible if the equipment can't handle that coil size and feedback.
@leighgranland8442 smaller coils will find smaller gold then larger coils.. And this area is very trashy, so some days I be a bit more lazier and walk over any bug sounds
Ouch on the thumb nail. Some nice bits there. Well done. :)

Looks like your biproduct is basically dirty sodium silicate?
@dingodog5677 that would be the iron content making it pretty dirty..
Nice indeed remote rural off grid here NSW AU opal miner , have a lot of nice looking quartz from my last visit to tassie off 2 workshop to give this a try.
@TheSilmarillian no worries mate.. hope you find plenty of gold in it
Up to you but if you mix sulfuric acid in with your left over caustic you can neutralise it before disposing of it. Aiming for pH 7. If you get it to that you can safely pour it down a normal wastewater drain.
@MurrayRiver1 now that's a good tip.. Tha is for the info.. I'll get myself some during the week in some Ph strip's
Can’t u just heat it up and melt it out?
@yamabiru4553 you could but I live seeing what the nugget looks like.. crystalline gold looks way to awesome to melt
Nice going 😊
@@getdownanddirtyprospecting cheers mate,
Soak that quartz in hydrofluoric acid. It’s the only way you will recover all of your specimen gold intact. Caustic soda does little or nothing.
@@bartman7144 have you watched the video.. all the quartz is gone after 2 to 3hrs
@@NuggetHunterI watched it. I saw plenty of smashed up quartz and some loose pieces of AU he happened to loosen up with his hammer. In my experience, what hydrofluoric acid does is phenomenal.
@bartman7144 I do keep all the left over quartz for a crush and pan for a later date
@@bartman7144it does work very well, however HF is extremely dangerous and I’m very somewhat experienced with refining so I know it can be used safely, just not to most people

@Andysfishing to be very honest about it.. I will never ever use the 14" ML ever again after using an x-coil especially the cc range. The 17 and the 15cc are lighter then the standard coil and way more sensitivity on any size gold at any depth
