It is interesting that Nick wanted to de-age Spongebob, and they kind of de-aged Patrick instead. Though it may have seemed a bit weird the 'kid' character hung out with what felt like a 40ish year old man who would sit around drinking beer at home all day. there should be "smart but stupid" in phase 2 and "smart AND strupid" later. cuz sometimes he says or does something that LOOKS smart, for example, in the episode "wet paint" patrick says "we arent cavemen, we have technology" only for him to smash the computer on the dollar. meaning that he heard people say these thing but didnt stick around to findout what they meant, while in the episode they into squidword and patrick say something super smart AND usefull for that moment, and unless he went to school, wouldnt know anything about what he just said, it wasnt a common phrase like in older episidoes like "the ugly barnacle" story im sure there was more to the story he just passed out and woke up at the very end.

He's honestly just depressed. He was literally happy to die. He's got nothing going for him talent wise and since he can't really get a job because everyone hates him. I'd honestly be depressed too and with depression comes with self loathing and a lack of confidence when it gets to a certain point. He's trapped and his cashier job is pretty easy and low effort and even with that, he's still depressed. Unfulfillment
