Just a car guy doing car guy things. Building, fixing and restoring cars. Sprinkle in some drag racing and maybe a car show or two. I do my best to show and explain in simple terms what I’m doing and how to do it.
1965 Nova Build | Brakes & Drives, Stops & Starts. First spin around the block in over 2 decades!!
On this episode we finished the brake lines on the Rescued 65 Nova. We tried to bleed them and no fluid came out so we had to replace the rubber lines. We figured it out and took the little Nova around the block for the first time in over two decades!

Big events like Duct Tape Drags bring out people that are wet behind the ears when it comes to racing or people that are running a new build (in this case cheap builds). You just need to relax and have a good time. If you are concerned about that issue, let the other guy stage first. This is the kind of thing you will get at that type of event and being upset about it just makes you come across like stuck up racing prick that runs off new people. Yeah, getting "burned down" sucks, get over it, cool the car off and get back in the lanes and make another lick. Looks like it was a great event though. Cars ran good and looked good doing it. Was hoping to see the wagon make a leisurely cruise down the asphalt. haha good stuff man.
@@OneMoreBolt we had a good time. I don’t think he meant to burn me down. He was over there burning the tires off. Past the lights. Staged. Then hopped past the lights again. Then backed up. I cut it out because I didn’t want to put the guy on blast on TH-cam. He was playing John force. Trying to put on a show. Instead of focusing on the task at hand. But it’s all good. All the cars ran good and made it home in one piece. Plus I hung out with my friends. That’s the main thing.

Congrats...... missed duct tape drags by a week. That's pretty great estimation in my book. The dent in the tunnel is probably from when they used a jack to push the roof back into shape. Don't ask me how I know. LOLS Oh, thanks for not doing a smokey burn out like the other smucks do.
@@pnuts1649 😲😲😲 you know!!! You might be right!!! That would explain that dent!!! Did you work on this car??? You know… the roof actually doesn’t bother me that much on this car. It is what it is. It will be a super fun weekend beater car…. No prep race car, Duct tape drags type car. I didn’t pay much for it and it’s 90% spare parts from my shed….. 🤷♂️ so it’s perfect for what it is. In my opinion. Not every car is a 6 figure rotisserie build…. I’m not going to say I don’t do big smoky burn outs on the street…… but I do try not to 💩 where I sleep…. The blue panel wagon is beautiful I love that car what's the engine combo in it if you don't mind sharing that I'd like you to do a video about that car and your wife's LS powered nova.
I feel your pain about staging. We were at Amarillo a couple of weeks ago and some dragster did the same thing to my brother. Video recorded the whole thing. Over 2 minutes in pre stage because some dragster couldn't trip the light. The track guys were bending something on his car to get it to trip the light. That pretty much cooked off his engine with low tension rings. You got off easy but, it still sucks. Two hours to get in is ridiculous for cars people are competing in the event. Glad you had fun though.

One thing about Derick, he puts on his pants one leg at a time and has no problem talking to his fans, but he has too many fans to give shout outs to apparently. Very crispy to blackened bacon. Was that 440 miles both ways plus the few passes? Thats a solid win. Glad to hear Sarahs feeling good.
