ROLLMEAWAY
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 16 มี.ค. 2019
I'm a retired photographer traveling North America and enjoying the places I visit. I do take photos and video about my travels but that is secondary to having a good time. I look for breweries, dive bars, and BBQ joints, anywhere I can sit and chat with the locals and find those off the beaten path places to explore.
East Coast NC Camping, Birding, Parks, and Places to Explore
I travel from the middle of North Carolina to explore the east coast in the middle of winter when the migratory birds are here. I stop for barbecue and to explore state and national parks for future trips. I find trails and preserves to hike. I visit towns with craft breweries and restaurants to enjoy. I push on through the cold, wind, rain, and snow but enjoy some fair weather as well. If you're prepared, winter travel can be more fun and with less crowds!

Today we’ll do a walk through of Priddy’s General Store in Danbury, NC. We’ll step back in time to a place where little has changed in 80 years. Priddy's is a third generation, family-owned general store. Built in 1888 and one of Stokes County’s historic landmarks, this store is packed with a little bit of everything from the past and present. The store has been owned and operated by the Priddy...

Just moved to West Jefferson one month before Helene took out part of my house. It was rough but I was fortunate compared to so many others that lost much more. West Jefferson is my favorite town and nothing will change that. Thank you for the wonderful video. Mountain strong!
I have friends who live there and still get up there 2-3 times a year. The surrounding towns along the river were devastated. My friends did not want to go see them, they would be heart broken to see the damage first hand. Thanks for watching. I hope your repairs are coming along OK. I have videos of Asheville and Hot Springs pre flood. I was lucky to see them before the storm.
I’m so ready. Nice video. But do they have alligators?
Hey I like your Channel! I may have to binge watch on my way to Quartzsite! Was it a worthwhile visit to Stone Mtn?
It’s worth a visit at least once. The campground was a little run down and poor customer service. I spent a fair amount of time in town at the German restaurant and at Outlaw Brewery! My memory is fading a bit so watch the video!
What a beautiful lil city! 🤩
I a live in floyd and I took a trip to the same place in Washington DC
Hi Cali!!
Some beautiful scenery through the mountains. Well done. Greetings from Toronto
Those Western landscapes are stunning!
Hello from the Bigfoot people (Devil Tower '19) Keep on rolling!
Just had a beer with Jimmy at New River Brewing. What a great guy!
Did that from Chicago to Whitefish MT Round trip. I won't Forget it. Great trip
Ro scale central roblox train bell sounds the exact same with some engines?
@@Noober-9 I wouldn’t know one from another but love riding and learning about trains!
So how are you planning on getting home, bus?
@@TheCountryLifewithColumbusMark I’m on the Empire Builder back to Chicago right now! Two more trains after that and I’ll be home maybe Tuesday
@@ROLLMEAWAY Wow. taking the train there and back. Which station did you start from in NC?
@@TheCountryLifewithColumbusMark Greensboro
@@ROLLMEAWAY That's quite the trip. You'll probably need to take a break from traveling when this is all over.
Having some good times I take it. Good for you!
Some of my favorite places. I have been to downtown BR, but never to the rock itself. I better add it to my list. Very enjoyable video.
Mine and my wife’s happy place.
I traveled the entire Trace last year and hit every single stop and campground along the way. It took me about 5 days to it all; I was in no hurry. I video documented the trip for posterity. Trace is a French term for a line created by footprints or animal tracks. Next year, I plan to do the Blue Ridge Parkway. I'm not sure if I'll hit every stop like I did on the Trace. 200+ overlooks is a bit much.
You will love the Blue Ridge Parkway! Do as much research as you can to determine the campgrounds, overlooks and sightseeing stops ahead of time to make sure you don't miss anything!
My uncle introduced me to this bar! Love their food sooo much
That looks breathtaking, I had no idea that was there. I’m making a trip, thanks for the inspiration
Love this video Well done.
Nice
Thank you so much for sharing!
I love Hot Springs! I've been twice and haven't seen and done everything there is to do there!
It's actually the Sopchoppy River.....flows into Ochlocknee Bay.....or meanders into the bay.
Thanks for making that clear. I wasn’t sure and had trouble confirming information when I made the video.
Wow that first waterfall was spectacular!
That's a part of the country I haven't explored and was surprised by all the natural winter in the area. Beautiful towns and a winery too.
Looks like fun! 😊
Thanks Peggy! It was kind of a cameras off vacation trip for me but in the end, I wanted to document some of the fun I had so it required a lot more dashcam and voiceover than would have been ideal! I got to see a lot of friends and family along the way.
What a great museum! They have so much to look at really enjoyed seeing the inside of the old engine and all the old furniture that was a nice 1890s restroom! This was great to share we would stop in here too. Sometimes its hard to get Ron on a train when he isnt working thought. LOL! Great video!
Thank You! About half of my videos are train related and the rest are general travel. I'm afraid my subscribers don't know what to expect! I just published a roadtrip video that included a trolley ride around Little Rock and North Little Rock Arkansas. Great towns with lots of breweries (my other passion) and entertainment options plus an RV Park on the river in the middle of everything!
Where is this town?
Search AMANA Colonies, Iowa. There are 7 little communities along a 20 some mile loop. The main town is the most developed with stores. The rest are small communities where people live and work.
It is amazing and special video What i image about wild west and texas , and cowboy man, cow,....
There is also a nearby historic Carnegie library near the railfan park. Cordele as I understand was named the Capitol of the Confederacy after Richmond fell to the Union Army in 1865. Gen. Lee was already enroute to Appamaddox. 🛤️
Where is this place?
Riverside Iowa is a small town with StarTrek related things all over town. The actual sign is across from the post office. It’s easy to find.
🖖😎👍!.
Love it!
Been there. It's pretty cool. Look around the small town there are other places besides the museum. Nice little Star Trek park across the street and something in the town square I believe.
The museum is small but interesting. Town is south of Iowa City.
Thank You !!!
twice a year for nearly 20 years i lived in the Flathead and would take a May drive and a September drive for 4 day weekends in Yellowstone. Occasionally their were road closures. but spring bison calving and fall elk bugling were special and fewer "tourons" around on shoulder seasons took sooooo many different routes i can't remember them all. through Missoula and Darby and over through the Little Belts and down though Helena and Three Forks through Livingston through Red Lodge through Deer Lodge the interstate - of course through Big Hole not a bad trip any way you go.
Nice video. I was just at Mammoth Cave about a month ago. I'm Mark - I'm at the Carolina Rovers rally right now. Just subscribed.
I worked at the Gas Station there in 1978 Gerald works the Ferry there, he was my Boss
I remember those trains from when I was a kid seeing them at the museums fair park location. its disappointing they tore out the museum and just turned it into a parking lot. hopefully this means they will get more rollingstock. I must attribute some part of my journey to actually working on the railroad to my dad taking me to the museum as a kid. it looks like they brought the railway express building as well. any idea if they brought over the calliope? I enjoyed listening to its unique sounds.
I didn't see or hear anything about the calliope. You should call them and ask!
@ROLLMEAWAY I should call and ask. This one channel seems to be the best and only record of the old museums existence: th-cam.com/video/CZIgIv-fD3g/w-d-xo.htmlsi=dJwspehv11PvPgDB
That model train set up is absolutely amazing!! Thanks for sharing! ❤🚂🚂

It was good to spend time with you at Quartzsite. I’ll look forward to watching your journey. Robin
Hi, It was nice to meet you today. We will be watching
We hope to go!! Absolutely beautiful and new subscribers here! Happy New Year❤Zack & Linda
Happy new year!! Thanks for subscribing. Just publish Part 5.
Hi which waters fall are those? I would love to visit.
The river runs through the center of Helen and about a mile down stream, it goes over the Nora Mill Dam. Anna Ruby Falls is about 5 miles north of Helen, Georgia. Another interesting place nearby is Brasstown Bald, Georgia's highest point, offering panoramic views from 4,784-ft.
I'm planning on heading to Oregon and Napa this fall, thanks for the heads up.
Bend was my favorite town for just hanging out and having fun!
Beautiful! Your Bigfoot friends from Devils Tower 2019. Keep rolling!
Glad you’re following along! I wish there was a map share function to keep up with where everyone is. You can share you location on google maps but don’t know if you can control it or restrict it?? Just left Yellowstone today. The Tioga road is closed for the season so I’ll have to drive way south to then get back up to Las Vegas area.
GOOD TO KNOW YOU DOING WELL I ENJOY SEEIING ALL THE SIGHTS TAKE CARE
Got some new ones posted! Check’m out! Just left Yellowstone today.
