EASY XXL PIZZA RECIPE FOR AMERICANS IN GERMANY
Have you ever passed the cold section at a German grocery store and seen all of the different baking doughs? Really? You may not have known what you were looking at. German food is different, eggs and milk hang out in the open without refrigeration. The point is, there are some hidden gems in these grocery isles and ready-made pizza dough is one of them! The commissary carries your regular Pillsbury pizza dough but it's one size fits all. We're here to show you the XXL version!
Easy Pizza, Easy Dinner!
1 550g PizzaTeig XXL (Pizza Dough)
1 package shredded cheese
1 jar of your favorite pizza sauce
YOUR CHOICE of toppings (we used salami)
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon seasoning (optional)
That's basically it. We hope you have a better understanding of pizzateig and take a chance at making pizza at home with the family.

DAVE VISITS THE USA PART TWO

The rest of the trip was a blur! Filled with Waffle House, nature, and tattoos! USA USA USA! I hope you can see America in a different light than you see on the news. I´m really a bit jealous.😮 The ice cream might be a little bit expensive, but it´s from a (compared to the big marked ice cream producers) relatively small manufacturer and distributor and it contains waaaay less "artificial stuff" (colors, taste enhancers, chemical ingredients an so on) than the ice cream you get at the supermarkets.

    Tell me, my dear American, how can you drink spoiled beer? How can you see that? Well there is no foam to be seen on the beer, so according to Adam Riese it is bad. Only good fresh beer, which is good, has a sufficient head of foam, also known as a flower, on the beer in the glass.

      @@DaveHeatherLivinginGermany : You already know why the foam on the beer is important, right? Now the foam prevents oxygen from getting to the beer too much and too quickly, so that the beer doesn't immediately become bitter too quickly. Bitter is the sign of staleness, i.e. too old! The taste suffers massively when it is boarded up.Sometimes it can also be a sign of a dirty glass or too much detergent in the glass.

    This isn’t German food. It’s junk food - similar to what you would get in an "Irish"-Pub in Germany. Simply something that you get offered to accompany whatever drink, so you can have another drink after that. Well, if you like it, fair enough. But calling it German food means fooling your viewers, and sort of disrespects German cuisine. Sorry, not sorry.

      @DaveHeatherLivinginGermany 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm not sure how deep you want to get about this subject but having a Corona with a lime when ordering a burrito at a Mexican restaurant is disrespectful in the same aspect. Also, in order to even have a permit to operate a "German restaurant" inside the largest Base Exchange in Europe has to account for something. If you listened to me at all in the beginning of the video I held out as long as I could, I decided to try it. Maybe we will go to a Mexican restaurant next time and order a hefeweizen just to not be offensive. Thanks or no thanks, for watching or videos!

    Autobahn - three lanes? Not really, check out Germany's Autobahn Network and you’ll see that two lanes are more common. And no, "middle lane driving" isn’t a thing as you have to drive "as far to the right as possible". Btw, everything > 20 Km above a restricted speed limit will be punished harder, you could even instantly (temporarily/permanently) loose your driving license. _"It’s easier to drive uphills…"_ = _"Zurück zur Natur - nur nicht zu Fuß."_

    • @DaveHeatherLivinginGermany
      @DaveHeatherLivinginGermany 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Middle lane driving is NOT a thing at all. It's unfortunate that Americans don't understand the concept of that lane being a temporary lane and not to take a Sunday drive in. You can drive as far to the right as possible but I'm sure you'd appreciate that middle lane to pass the trucks that are regulated to stay in that lane. The 20km above restricted speed limit will be punished harder, I know, it's a temporary loss (1 month). 3 lanes are more common these days than back in the eighties. Thanks for watching!

      Oh so much more! We have not been back to the U.S. since 2019 but our family keeps us posted. We honestly save so much money on groceries here that the decision to live in Germany was well worth it!

      You're right peterjahn123. Sometimes the military soldier cannot make it off of base for real German food but this is close enough for them now. I say the same thing about Mexican food here in Kaiserslautern 😂 thanks for watching!

    Very nice video as I use to be stationed there. So many changes. When The US Army left all the crowds and economy went down hill. Hint: show more of the city and not yourselves. 👍👍

    Is there any chance for a German to enter an American Military Base in Germany to "visit these awesome supermarkets there" for example ? What I would like to ask is, is a soldier able to like "bring a friend on a weekend to visit or something along this line ?

    • @DaveHeatherLivinginGermany

      A soldier can sign on friends and family, they would only need to provide proper documentation like a drivers license, passport...the soldier would be responsible for that guest the entire time. A lot of bases have small vendors that accept Euros and $. You would not be allowed to purchase any grocery items inside the commissary though. Thanks for watching our videos!
