I truly love planning but for whatever reason, I never can seem to actually stick with a planner 🤷🏻‍♀️ this one looks great though!!

I hate the tiles 😂 I love that they have an app instead. With a toddler running around and trying to find the right tiles it stressed me out to have them.

I had planned to do All About Reading level one for my first grader but I am feeling so overwhelmed by it. I am a busy mom of five soon six kids and will be having a C-section soon. Am I misunderstanding the program to feel so overwhelmed by it??? Was looking for simpler options if possible but nothing looks at through as AAR! Had seen Explode The Code and wondering could it work by itself to teach a child to read? Love any thoughts you have please!

You are getting me excited for CLE reading! We used AAR for my middle but switched last year to Logic of English for my youngest. We ended up forgetting to do the Ziggy games 😂

Sonlight history is the best because of the books, the maps and the timeline.

We have loved Sonlight Pre School all the way up to J!

Sonlight is a favorite for us as well! We loved the Time Traveler book too. We will be listening to A Child's History of the World for history this year too!

We don't officially start until mid/late September because all hands are needed on the farm. We start all subjects at once, but I like the idea of a slower start.

Just last night I was looking over things and was thinking the same thing about Sonlight and came to the same conclusion. So we’re gonna start that a few weeks ahead of time and go from there. Love seeing how you have Sonlight and everything set up!

We jumped right in on 8/5. Today we finished our first week back.

We started our slow start this week! We do some math throughout summer (half lesson a day) and just added science and history in, and at the end of august we’ll add LA, do full math lessons, and a couple other small things 🤗

My 5th grader used Reading 5 last year and I was so pleased with all it covered. She learned so much.

Hi friend! I too am a a former elementary teacher and reading has always been my favorite simubject to teach. I believe it's fundamental even for all the other subjects. Will beging using Christian Light for math, but I am very interested to hear about their reading resources.💖☺️

This is our first year homeschooling and I had bought The Good & the Beautiful and when I received the 5th grade math curriculum I was just disappointed with the whole curriculum. It does look nice and colorful, but definitely not worth it for a child who is wanting to advance in math. I decided to just swallow that $58 and after looking all over for curriculums I truly felt that Math U See would be the best fit for my daughter. Thank you so much for breaking down the lessons and how you section it off. I think I will follow this schedule until I get into a flow with it. Do you think it would be ok for a child to watch some of the video lessons on their own? TIA this was so helpful!

It looks like you have enough readalouds this year, but you may want to check out Duet to go with your Chopin study. We really enjoyed it and learned a lot about Chopin, and finches, as well. Blessings!

Yes, so many of my reasons too. My daughter saw the question "Is homeschooling worth it?" and she was aghast and said "YES!!! You want to actually spend TIME with us instead of having us gone all day”. ❤

I have a tip for you for using the Proclick. I noticed on your memorization book you made that the line of the binding was down the side. You can avoid that by binding with the back stacked on top of the cover. Then when you flip it to the back it hides that line.

I care! Haha, I love seeing other moms homeschool spaces. It gives me ideas and encouragement. We're moving this weekend into a home where I will have a room dedicated to homeschool. I'm excited to get there and get the homeschool room setup. I don't have a TH-cam channel, but I've been thinking about starting one about my homeschool journey as well. Maybe I'll film myself in the room so I have some content? I don't know how to create a video though! 😆

Great choices. We are doing sunlight HBL E also this year with my 5th grade twin boys. I love the Bible memorization book you made. I was actually thinking of making something similar like that myself but with fill in the blanks and copy work.

We love to do these followed by CLE K2, then the G-L Rod and Staff workbooks for preschool through 1st for simple fun seatwork. I tend to do Jady As preschool books for age 3 before starting these between 4 and 5 when a child is ready.
