My name is Jerilyn and welcome to OUR HOMESCHOOL TABLE! I am a mom of three kids! My oldest is nine and in fourth grade, my middle is almost three and my youngest is eight months old! I taught Kindergarten for six years before I began staying home. This is my fifth year homeschooling and love sharing about all things homeschool!

Thanks for all the tips. This year I will just keep all the extra pages in a folder before we start. Also, glad to hear we aren’t the only ones who skip the “fun” pages as Miss E would say. We make them very optional

Thank you so much for the flip through! My son is only 2 currently (also just found out we’re expecting baby #2) but I’ll definitely be using this curriculum once ready for school!

Congrats on the new baby! 😊 We have loved Math U See from the beginning. Soon I will be showing what we are going to use for Preschool with my 3-year old son. I’m really excited about it!

This is our first year homeschooling and I had bought The Good & the Beautiful and when I received the 5th grade math curriculum I was just disappointed with the whole curriculum. It does look nice and colorful, but definitely not worth it for a child who is wanting to advance in math. I decided to just swallow that $58 and after looking all over for curriculums I truly felt that Math U See would be the best fit for my daughter. Thank you so much for breaking down the lessons and how you section it off. I think I will follow this schedule until I get into a flow with it. Do you think it would be ok for a child to watch some of the video lessons on their own? TIA this was so helpful!

@@andreadud I am SO glad it was helpful! I definitely think a student could watch the video on their own and then jump in to the problems. My student needs me to do a few problems as practice on the A page usually before she feels comfortable, but depending on comfort level with the material I think that could be totally doable. I hope you and your student like the program! Keep me posted! 😊 Enjoy your first year and remember to be flexible and make things fit your needs. You don’t have to do exactly what the program tells you, make it work for you!
As far as the curriculum you purchased, you can easily sell it and recover at least some of your money.

Just finished our first yr homeschooling 😊Coming from a spiral curriculum this is so different for me. But my 5th grader just told me that she didnt enjoy spiral. Ive been doing alot of research on mastery. Math u See has come up a few times now. Im def considering giving it try. A. So you tear out pages only if your daughter mastered the comcept?
    B. Do you have any wiggle room to skip school a day or two during the week?
    C. Does workbook come with quarterly, mid, end of year tests or anything like that?

      Hi! Thanks for watching!
      A. I tear everything out of the workbook, but I save pages we dont use for later practice. Around Lesson 15 or so it starts to get pretty challenging, so that is when I bring in pages from previous lessons to add some review. We don’t always use all the pages for each lesson. Generally we use 4 out of 7 pages per lesson. For those lessons we take one week to complete the lesson and test. On challenging lessons we might take two weeks to complete it.
      B. We do Math five days a week, but there are times we skip Friday. Usually I cut other subjects out first though.
      C. The student test booklet has a test for every lesson (so 30 regular tests), 4 review tests about every 7 lessons, and then a Final Test at the end. The teacher manual has answers for everything. 😄
      Hope this helps!

Thank you for the video. This will be our first year homeschooling and I want to use Math u See Epilson. Do you think that starting at this level without doing the previous levels will be good for a student?

Yay for your first year! 🥳 Is your student already proficient in multi-digit multiplication and multi-digit long division? I would say those would need to be in place already. I know that MathUSee has a placement test that you can have your child take to find out the best placement. 👍🏻
