where do you get the framing for the shower?
I don’t know if you can buy just the frame for the shower unless you know the brand name of your existing shower and the company still exists. I would recommend replacing your shower completely! You can order your shower from local glass shop, even from Home Depot or Lowe’s. Frameless shower you can order online royaltymirror.com/RGS10
Does anyone have a recommendation for what type of double sided tape to use?
I have links in the description! Here is Amazon link amzn.to/3Orv0YA
@ thanks
Thank for a very helpful post
Just scared to make a mistake.... I'd rather have you do it
It’s not that bad, just take your time and may be have second person to give you a hand. I’m in Sacramento area if you are close by I could do the job for you!
@roadglassandmore far
Perfect. Thanks
What size of glass is this window and thickness as well. Mines looks exactly like it.
I don’t remember exact size of the window in this video, over all thickness is 1/2 . Measure day light ( glass part that you can see) frame to frame and add 3/4” to it that would give you the size of the glass or if you want to be 100% safe you can remove corner screws and pull frame off and measure existing glass! You can order glass online with 10% off royaltymirror.com/RGS10
Very helpful Thank you !
Where can i find that block?
This should work amzn.to/3Zdz0BQ this is the same material just not shaped . Or you can try piece of hard wood like oak.
I never listen to you again you don't tell nobody how you supposed to take the door off but I listened to you and I screwed up good baby
Did you drain the oil?
Yes, I drained the oil first.
My buggy heats up and as soon as i give it gas temp start to decrease until i let it idle again for a little ideas
Most likely is water pump gear, probably some or all teeth on water pump gear starting to wear out.
Where is the bleed screw
There is no bleed screw , closed system
How do you bleed them then
@ open reservoir and squeeze coolant hose in the front by radiator while car is running, you will see bubbles come out
This video is the best. I watched several other ones that were just ads for companies or just not not clear. What if I have a small window that's extremely hard to access due to the pitch of the roof? Is there a way to do this from only the inside? The window is 1/8TH the size of the one in your video but it faces the street and my HOA is on my ass. It's filled with discolorations. Thanks for posting this excellent tutorial.
Unfortunately you will need access to inside and out side of the window, as the glass typically comes out of the frame on outside.
Thanks for this. I replaced a pane of glass in our garage window that had a piece of chopped firewood fly through it. Not ideal. Replaced the old glass with a piece of used plexiglass I got from the local ReStore for $15 and your tutorial was exactly what I needed to get the job done. Awesome! Gotta love TH-cam University! :)
I’m glad my video was helpful! And I appreciate your comment!
Thank you for this video
You are welcome
I’m surprised the glass didn’t pop on you when you were prying on it that’s the easiest way to break the glass never use metal on glass
You are right in a way that glass and metal don’t mix, but unfortunately they don’t make plastic tools for glass removal. Every single tool I have to work with glass has metal on it. Just have to be very careful!
There’s a company named CRL they make plastic tools for removing windows
thank you for the video 😎👍
You are welcome
Really a great video. I have a similar, older sliding door (not exact to the one you show) and I know the rollers need to be replaced. I was planning on pulling the doors totally off, and this will save me a ton of time. I've also made the mistake over the years of using regular WD-40 and the tracks are filthy and dirty and the dirt is now caked up. I'll use silicone next time. Thanks!
Where r u located?
Sacramento area.
My outside glass needs to be replaced, but the inside glass is not broken. Do I have to replace both??
both panes of glass vacuum sealed together as a unit when made at the factory. So I’d suggest ordering new dual pane unit! You can buy and get a quote online , check out website in link in description under the video.
Old Shock does not come off
Update. Got the harness apart but after having to hammer the aluminum bushing into place, dropped tail gate on its corner. Worked for an hour trying to get the piston off. No go. Hinge seems seized too so now tailgate only goes down part way and the drop cord on the right side won’t stay in place and have to move it to the right everytime I close the tailgate or it won’t close. Nice design Nissan!! Never had so Many issues with any other truck. Last Nissan I buy.
I tried to get the wiring harness apart. You said it’s pretty easy. No it’s not. After 2 hours I gave up. Really wish this was shown more clearly. I pushed down on the backside of the clip but no way would come apart
Great idea to use marine carpet on the ceiling? What size did it come in and where did you purchase it from? Thanks!
I bought roll on eBay, 60” wide. I actually redid the interior a little while ago, I now have beige headliner material on the ceiling
@@roadglassandmore why did you switch to headline material? Did you also buy this on eBay? Also, great idea insulating the bottom of the trailer. What is the black coating that you applied to the foam board? Does it make it waterproof and are you happy with it?
@@dirkjackson8939 I read is the ceiling, spray foamed it. And decided to try headliner this time. I just used spray paint on the bottom, so the pink board kinda blands in
I broke one pane of my window but the other one is intact. What would happen if I simply clean out the broken glass and run it as a single pane? This is in an outside room, so I'm not worried about insulation.
Nothing should happen, as long as the glass still sealed to the window frame. So if the outer pane broken you can clean it out as inside pane is still sealed to the frame. I have seen many windows that way, people just clean the old glass out or tape it and just live with it.
@@roadglassandmore thank you so much
You seriously made my day! Can't believe how easy this can be. Great video, thanks so much 😊
Glad my video helped!
There is a ~1" spring for the oil pressure regulator that is not mentioned anywhere. It will likely fall out when you go to remove the cover. Probably best to remove the bolt holding it before removing the cover. It takes a T55 and sits just under the oil filter housing
At 1:51 how do you get that oil line off? Is the clamp re-usable?
@@brycesanders5402 I used flat head screw driver to pry clip open and some wire cutters. You will need new clamp. Harbor freight and most hardware stores have them. If you can’t get crimp style clamp you can use regular hose clamp.
I need some ideas please...installing a custom replacement IGU in a stationary transom window off a ladder above a door wall. Inside temperature is 70F, outside is 45F. I will scrape the residual old double sided tape with a multi-tool + thin blade, painters knife and a bunch of patience. Planning on using 100% silicone caulk/adhesive on the perimeter side-face of the IGU (had it made slightly thicker to compensate for not using double sided tape). I am going to use two double suction cup lifters to set in place the 25lb IGU. Any thoughts on how to temporarily hold the IGU in place while the sealant sets up? Don't want the IGU to fall out on me, or the floor, or break. I am not sure the glazing beads alone will hold it in place as they are kind of flimsy. I have done sliders and casement windows flat on a bench in a work shop, this is my 1st stationary IGU replace job. Thanks for any tips.
Glazing bead should hold in place ! You can tape the glass to frame with some masking tape in few spots if you want to feel 100% safe about glass staying in place. 2 double suction cups should be good to lift the glass( I have never used those though) try slightly lifting and holding the glass off the ground to see if suction cups hold on.
Thank you sir for the idea and reassurance....BTW, I am 0 for 4 recently on getting cracked/leaky IGUs out of their sashes in one piece easily like I see on all the videos. I use good gloves, long sleeves, safety glasses, a pry bar and an big trash can to throw the glass fragments in. Seems like the IGU's perimeter rubber seal has vulcanized to the 25 year old vinyl sash frames I have been working on.
@@livingthedream1964 I know what you mean, sometimes the IGU glue melts to the frame, makes it hard getting old glass out. And you are doing it smart with all the safety precautions! I have visited ER many times , most recent one was 5 weeks ago, glass shard fell and cut my leg right through my jeans.
@@roadglassandmore Thanks for the dialog. I might try an oscillating multi-tool with a toothless blade to get the next IGU out in one piece. In the random comment department, and related to safety, be careful removing glued-on large glass mirrors from walls (for example, over the sink in a bathroom). I know two guys who tore up their hands badly. I have a job coming up soon and probably will wear my welding gloves.
Wow what a great video! thanks some much for sharing your knowledge.
Thank you
I would never go 10,000 miles between oil changes. Fluids are the like blood of your car/truck. Spend the extra $60 bucks to save thousands down the road. I change at 3,500-4,500 miles.
I remember suggested oil change interval was 3k miles back in the day, now most car manufacturers suggest 7k + . Synthetic oil has come a long way. I have seen numerous test results of used oil at 10k miles , even on diesel motors and test come back in with no contaminates and still oil life left.
Great video and love the bird sounds we don't have that at my house at 10,000 elevation in Colorado
Thank you
You need to verify the measurement is from inside or outside, some replacement companies require outside of the frame measurement not the glass side.
Thanks you saved me a lot of time
very good demonstration : )
Thanks
It is amazing you mixed all the bags for the floor!! I have done a 2x2 square and that was enough for me!!! Great work ethic!!
Thanks! Wasn’t easy for sure, and my body was feeling in the next day .
Throw a skid plate on it so you can grab 2nd and pin it but hell ya that’s tight
❤😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊⁰
Great video. Thank you for sharing!
I have a 15 window light kit to replace. I assume it’s much the same as it’s one piece of glass. I just got the replacement kit. Am I correct ?. It’s 22x64 standard size
The type of the door in the video the sizes are always even number , but depends on how big the door is , 6foot wide doors I believe 28x64, the doors in the video 5 foot so the size us 22x64. There are 2 different thickness of the glass, most common is 1/2 and there are some doors that have 1” double pane glass.
@@roadglassandmore I think you replaced the glass I realized. I have a new vision kit entirely with new glass and new frame but it’s the same size but has 15 lights. I guess the old kit just pops out ? Not sure. I took the front frame off
Do you keep rubber gasket materials, rubber glazing stuff in the van? Or is it all unique to each window brand? Just curious what you do when its in bad condition, maybe just silicone?
We usually keep some rubber gaskets in the work van. But I try to reuse the old gasket if it’s still in good condition
Very good instructions. Appreciate it.
Thanks
Awesome job! 👏 What did you use to anchor it with and how did you anchor it down??
Thanks! I used 1/4” plastic anchors and 1 1/2” long screws . And I also ran a bead of polyurethane caulk to water seal the bottom to concrete slab:
Freaking stupid
Wow, just wow, best freaking video EVER, thank you a million times over.
Direct, to the point, great video. Thks
Thanks
THank you I'm working my into trying to change gkass. I have American craftsman bow my stionary pane is foggy. Window glass Warranteed but no for installing. Im afraid to try.I don't have pieced ti snap in on outside looks like it sits in feame. has inside covers. I cannot find video for my window so thanks
Is your window aluminum frame? I have a video on how to replace glass in those. th-cam.com/video/lqvPQrDi_hM/w-d-xo.html hope this helps. I have few other videos on my channel too.
Perfect explanation for how to do it, I will try it tomorrow, cross your fingers lol
Wear gloves and goggles when handling the glass.
Thanks for your information about replace broken glass. I lost the corner bracket that hold frame together. Where can I buy new one?
You can try local glass shop, some usually save old parts . Or may be search online.
bro, thank you!
Not a bad way off doing it but U should undo both screws in the door frame not just the bottom one as if U do it his way U are likely to damage the door frame so remember undo top and bottom screws that way U won't damage the frame.
I loosen the top screw so there is no pressure in door frame. I thought I mentioned it in the video too. But yeah , good point!
