It's probably the best point usage period but seemingly extremely hard to find availabilities. It might be the same for the Grand Victoria - although, that one might just be a bit further down the list. Can't quite recall, sorry!

@ I stay in hotels a lot with my job, and I see dumb careless crap all the time (most of the hotels I stay in are very middle of the road). Occasionally I’ll treat myself to 4S or Waldorf and the like, and there is a tremendous amount of difference in thought (materials, fit, finish, trim/punch carpentry) between even a very contemporary Hilton, and a five diamond hotel.

Maybe the rates will go down over time - at that rate, I’d also go with eggs and the St. Regis 😁

If I remember correctly, it was floor 17 where our room was on.

Hey Sakura-San, I gotta agree. It’s crazy just how many people there are in this lounge at all times. I think, too many people have a gold status for life through the ANA SuperFlyer credit card 👀

I think, the lounge can really add to the experience. It was not part of our stay, but I read good things at least about the Taipan lounge, which you can buy access to via the room selection.

The hotel was fully booked during our stay so no upgrades provided. There is no lounge at this place. And you have to pay extra for the egg dishes, status or not. We didn’t do that.

To be fair, lounges in the US are on a whole other level (and not in a good way)… although some newer ones are finally improving on that!

I wasn't aware that that passenger was a popular TH-camr! I'll keep that in mind on the next flight I see him, haha

I must admit that I’m not familiar with that hotel so unfortunately I can’t help much with that. We stayed at the Regent Taipei also, which is a lot closer to the main station and also an IHG-group hotel. It was a bit old and didn’t wow us, though (I made a review about it, too. You can find it on my channel). So not sure if it provides the best value…

Wow, congrats, that sounds like you got amazing value. Curious to hear how this SQ product compares to Emirates. The A380 product of SQ might be better but I really enjoyed the intimacy of the First Class cabin in the B777! Have a great flight!

I will have a Lufthansa First Class flight coming up on the B747 in December and a Qatar First Class flight in May so there should be some more reviews soon ;) I use small equipment since I don’t want it to raise too much attention. I have an iPhone 14 Pro, a regular iPhone 14, as well as an Insta360 Go3S, so I can grab multiple angles at once. Hope that helps!

I noticed a slight change in quality between some shots-maybe it’s due to post-processing or the camera setup? That’s a good question. We did not tip our driver but that might be because both my wife and I come from cultures where we don’t or hardly ever tip. But I think it’s always appreciated and you can never go wrong with that!

Ouch, yeah, with the massive tourist surge here in Japan, all the hotels have seemed to adjust their pricing for them… But you can still find award nights for 95.000 points per night which might make sense here

Unfortunately I am not sure about which pickup locations are available but would strongly believe that the airport and the main train station are in the mix. Not sure about the price but it’s pretty certainly not complimentary. Can really recommend this IC! It’s always nice to stay in something really modern imo

Glad to hear that! To be fair, I did not have the chance to try out the lounges - at least the Taipan (?) lounge that only comes with a specific room category looks quite nice. But the rooms and the breakfast certainly are not for everyone…

That’s a fair point - the price helps to put it a bit in perspective. I’m seeing a few dates at around 1,300$. However, the bad food and the recliner seat would still prevent me from taking this flight again. I’d categorize it rather as a mediocre premium economy class.

Haha, it was just funny how the hot water thing added to the bad experience of the restroom because it was so messy. Wouldn’t blame the crew for that, though - some people just can’t keep the restroom clean :)

Totally fair if you’re okay with this product! I think, Cathay doesn’t make much money on this route and uses their old product here. I had a connecting flight HKG-NRT that was shorter but featured the A330 with the reverse herringbone and a flat bed. That was a godsend on that red-eye flight ✌️

It's a terrible product, no way to put lipstick on a pig. Terribly outdated seat, Infotainment and not competitive at all

The fruits for dessert were good, haha. But besides that, no. This is a terrible product which I cannot recommend to anyone :)

Oh, I didn’t know that some Voco hotels come with a club lounge. That might be worth exploring. For me, the breakfast really was what dragged down the overall experience. The rooms where absolutely fine

Hey Larry, I liked the hotel actually. If you don’t mind the limitations of the breakfast, I think you can have a great stay here. Not sure on the laundry on site. I believe I saw it but you might wanna check with the hotel directly for that!

Hey Michael, thanks for your comment and I agree with you that the seat belt is a bit bulky. I wish, it was at least evenly bulky on both sides - that way, it didn’t pull so much downwards on just one side. Unfortunately, the route HND-SIN is only connected with the B777. Would have preferred the A380 but that has to wait for a future flight on a different route.

Heya, we did get a small upgrade (albeit we just came with a good status so I’d reckon the upgrade gets better at platinum). Unfortunately, Ritz-Carlton breakfast is NOT included with your status so you’ll have to pay for it. It’s around 50$, so certainly not cheap. Hope, that helps :)

I can surely be demanding at times. But you can just take whichever points from the video make sense to you :)

Thank you for the kind words! In regards to your question, that's a tough one since you are basically spoiled for choice. You have pretty much every hotel brand available on Bali! Apparently, the beaches on the east side of Denpasar are nicer to swim in. So best is to narrow it down by your favorite hotel chain and see what they have in the area. Hope that helps!

As far as I know, you can only access the first class lounge of the airport you are departing FROM, not the airport you are flying TO. :/ There might be some exceptions depending on the airline you’re flying with, though. Chances are rather low, however.
