Istanbul Day 2: Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Grand Bazaar & Nightlife
Date: 31/05/24 🇹🇷
Our second day in Istanbul was packed with activity. We began with an energetic start at Flash Gym. En route, we fueled up with fresh ginger shots from a local juice stall, setting a healthy tone for the day.
Post-workout, we stumbled upon Loris Parfum, where the scent of Loris Noble caught our attention-another delightful discovery. Aaron needed a SIM card, so we went to a nearby phone shop to stay connected during our travels.
Hunger pangs were next on our agenda, leading us to savour a traditional Simit, followed by a hearty brunch at Galata Süheyla. Reenergized, we returned to our hotel briefly before venturing out again, this time by tram, towards some of Istanbul's most iconic sights: Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. Exploring these historical marvels, steeped in history and architectural grandeur, was a highlight.
Our cultural immersion continued to the Grand Bazaar, where the vibrant alleys and shops captivated us. A quick stop at Starbucks for a frozen drink refreshed us before we delved into the Spice Bazaar. The rich aromas and colourful stalls tempted us to splurge on teas, nuts, and exotic seasonings.
As evening fell, we wandered Istanbul's lively streets, encountering street performers and capturing the city's dynamic nightlife on camera. Dinner at Turgut introduced us to authentic Turkish cuisine, setting the stage for a night out. We concluded our day at a rooftop bar and continued the party across several local bars, ending our night at Escape Club.
