    Hello engr. I would like to ask. 8x8 single story with loft un half ng 64 sq meter sa plan po ay 16mm .sinunod ko un plan 16mm main bar then naglagay po kami footing tie beam na 16mm my question is dahil flat un column namin maari ba kami gumamit ng 12mm for LB1 beam? At ganun din sa roof beam engr? Sa plan po ay 2.5 meter un flooring to ceiling and 2 meter un loft from flooring to ceiling. Sa structural plan po ay 16mm un RB.

      Hello po sa inyo. Kung mayroon po kayong approved plan, I strongly recommend na sundin kung ano ang specification. Yung mga rebar sizes po kasi ay na-determine most probably by means of structural design.

    About sa splicing sa bottom bars. Bat sa manual ng dpwh bawal mag splice ng bottom bars sa loob ng column. Pati sa 1st zone bawal. 2nd zone daw splice zone ng bottom bars

      Hello po sa inyo. Pumanhin po sa late response. Hindi ko po agad masasagot ito base sa laki ng floor area. Depende po ito sa overall architectural at structural framework or configuration. Matutukoy lang po ito sa pamamagitan ng proper design procedure. Marami pa po kasing ibang factors na kailangang i-consider bago natin masabi ang dimension ng footing, poste, beam at slab.       Hello po sa inyo. Paumanhin po sa late response. Sa karanasan ko po ay 1 : 2 : 4 (cement bag of 40kg : cubic foot sand : cubic foot of 3/4 inch maximum size gravel) ang karaniwang mix ratio na ginagamit sa footing, column, beam at slab. Maraming salamat po sa tiwala at suporta sa channel.

      Hello po ulit sa inyo. Kung sagaran sa property boundary, it is a possibility na mas maging maliit ang area dimension ng footing pero ang thickness will be the same. Possible din na yung amount ng rebar will be reduced as well, dahil nga sa reduction sa footing area dimensions. Pero ang recommendation ko ay huwag nang i-reduce at as is na po ang dimension and rebar details.

      Kaya po ako nagtatanong ko ang ganito ay upang i-check natin ang clear spacing ng rebars. According to structural code requirements, clear spacing or bars placed in a horinzontal layer (beam rebars) shall be at least the greatest of 50mm, diameter of the rebar, and 4/3 the maximum size of aggregate (gravel). Ang maximum size of gravel for structural concrete ay 19mm. Ang greatest sa 3 ito ay 50mm. I-check mo if ang clear spacing ng 3 bars (2 continuous corner bars at 1 cut na parehong 16mm diameter) ay 50mm or more. If so, ok po yun. If not, change the design sizes.

    Salamat Engr. New Subscriber here. Ask ko lang po. Nagpapagawa ako ng concrete Fence ngayun. Naka design sya as abang para sa poste ng bahay na itatayo in the future. Dinesign naman sya ng Engr. Ang tanung ko lang po is about sa Splicing. tapos na kasi yung isang mukha ng fence .kakapanood ng video nyo na realize ko yung splicing zone na dapat. Kasi yung putol na ginawa ni Foreman ay pantay pantay na doon sa Vertical bar ng poste. Hindi na masusunod yung sinasabing 50% splice lang dapat. Bale magiging 100% kapag gumawa na ng panibagong poste para sa unang slab. Paano po ba ang aprroach sa ganito? Mukhang heto yung maling nakasanayan na ng mga foreman. Ang sabi sa akin ng Foreman, sa dami na ng ginawa nyang bahay ay puro ganyan ang yari, at wala namang problema. Ang sa akin lang naman ay masunod kung ano ang nasa code. Sana po ay magabayan nyo ako kung ano ang dapat kong gawin. Maraming salamat pong Muli at more power sa inyo.

      Hello po sa inyo. Una sa lahat, maraming salamat po sa tiwala at suporta sa channel. Hayaan po ninyo akong magbigay ng kaunting paliwanag regarding sa presented situation ninyo. Nararamdaman ko po kasi na mayroon pong kaunting confusion. Ganito po kasi yan. Ang building construction whether residential, commercial, industrial, o institutional ay ibinabatay mainly sa 2. Una po ay sa mga governing codes (National Building Code of the Philippines NBCP and National Structural Code of the Philippines NSCP 2015) at sa general construction practice. Ang mga code na nabanggit ang nagtatakda ng "minimum requirements" or "standards". Kapag sinasabi po na "Code", ibig sabihin, ito po ay bahagi ng batas (legal document) na kailangan natin sundin. Similar po ito sa Family Code, Civil Code, Labor Code, etc. Kaya po sinasabi ang salitang "requirements". Ang ika-2 po ay batay sa general construction practice. Ito po yung mga actual methodologies na nakasanayan na at satisfactorily accepted dahil ito po ay proven at tested sa site. Maaaring hindi po ito specifically stated sa alin man code pero ginagawa ito dahil ang mga license civil engineers ay required na magpractice ng profession in good faith. Kung mapapansin po ninyo sa mga video discussions ng Pinoy Construction channel, ang mga information ay mostly presented at delivered with basis from the code at maging sa general construction practice. Nagpe-present din po ako ng aking sariling recommendation. Kapag sinabi po sa video na ito ay "from the code", required po talaga na ito'y sundin regardless. Pero kapag sinabi po na "ang general practice..." o kaya ay "ang recommended practice...", hindi po ito requirement na kailangan masunod sa dahilan na ito ay maaaring hindi applicable sa isang paticular na project situation at condition. With that being said, sagutin ko po ng pranka ang tanong ninyo. Ang 100% rebar splicing ay allowed po ayon sa structural code. Wala din pong provision na nagsasabi kung saan particular ang location ng splicing sa column rebars. Hindi rin po specified na dapat hindi pantay-pantay ang splicing o ito yung tinatawag na splicing in a staggered manner. Ang meron sa code ay ang length of splicing, ang uri ng splicing, etc. In the absence po ng code provision, ang engineer must render a good professional practice. Ang nag-design po ng inyong structure must choose a better option/methodology. In short, siya po ang dapat na magtatakda ng requirements. Paano po ba ito? Ang isang general at recommended construction practice ay magiging requirement lang kung ito po naka-specify na sa contract documents katulad ng isang approved plan. Bigyan ko po kayo ng halimbawa. Sa code, ang minimum concrete cover po ng vertical bars sa column ay 40 mm. Kung naka-specify sa approved plan na 50 mm ang minimum, hindi po susundin ang 40 mm na nasa code kundi yung nasa plano. Mao-obliga lang po natin si foreman na gawin ang 50% total splicing, splicing in a staggered manner, at ang recommended splicing location sa column kung ipinalagay ang mga ito sa contract documents ng engineer na nagdesign. Usually, ito po ay makikita sa structural/general construction notes. Ako ay nag-aagree totally sa sinabi po ninyo na mayroon po talagang mga maling nakasanayan. Kadalasan ay nagiging excuse po yung mga salitang "matagal ko na itong ginagawa pero walang namang naging problema" o kaya ay "marami na akong naging karanasang ganito" upang tanggapin ang kanilang naging pamamaraan. Ang ating mga construction practitioneers tulad ng foreman, leadman, steelman, karpentero, mason ay kinakailangan pa rin i-supervise ng isang engineer. It is a pleasure to answer your inquiries.     hello sir, ok lang po ba ang 250x250cm na poste for 1 storey bungalow? 6pcs 12mm naka square type sya hndi sya naka 200x350mm . and ang distance po ng wall is nasa 4.70m ang column at isa ay nasa 4.3m . 9 Columns lang po sya sa 6.5x9mters na floor plan. Salamat po sa isasagot nyo

      Hello po sa inyo. Ang recommended po sa bungalow ay 200mm x 350mm for column span distance na less 4m reinforced with 6-12mm rebars. Kung ang 250mm x 250mm po na sectional dimension ay adequate base sa engineering design, ok po yun. Basta nai-design po sya ng engineer, nothing to worry.

      Hello po sa inyo. Sa natatandaan ko sa estimate book authored by Max Fajardo, kahit anong mix class, ang sand ay nakaset na agad sa 0.5 cu.m at ang gravel ay 1.0 cu.m. Hindi ako 100% sure. Hahanapin ko yung book na yun sa files ko. To make sure. Anyways, malaki ang allowance factor nya since kung io-observe mo yung staging at hauling ng materials, maraming natatapon. But it wouldn't favor the numerics of the estimate kasi lalabas maxadong malaki ang quantity na may significant impact costing.

      @@PinoyConstruction1 regarding sa procedure ng estimate ni sir m.fajardo basta na lang kinuha yung volume nung required member and then multiply lang sa value na naka tabulate. Hindi na po sya gumamit ng dry volume. Dadgdag ko na din po sir, hingi lang po ako ng recommendations na book or article about sa class mix and standard thinckenss for conrete masonry and plastering. Hindi po kasi parep-pareho ang nababasa ko hindi ko po alam ano susundin ko.

      Hello po sa inyo. Paumanhin po sa inyo. Hindi ko napansin ang comment po ninyong ito. Ang mix proportion po for plastering and mortar filler ay ranging from 1:2 to 1:4.(cement:sand). Ang computation approach po ay very similar dun sa video discussion ng channel about mix proportion ng paggawa ng hollow blocks. Ang thickness ng plastering ay 10mm, 15mm at 20mm (single face). Wala po akong mai-recommend sa inyo na reference book aside kay Max Fajardo. Dahil po sa inyong inquiries, nagpaplano po ako ng isang video discusion regarding po sa topic na ito.

      Hello po sa inyo. Hindi naman para maging matibay yung column kundi magkaroon ng enough rigidity/stiffness ang beam-column connection kaya recommended ang monolithic pouring from within H/4 ng column hanggang floor system. Hindi mo kasi maa-avoid ito dahil hindi advisable at dahil sa limitation na hindi mapopormahan ang buong column kasabay ang floor system. Maraming salamat po sa tiwala at suporta sa channel.
