    Sir pareho lang po ba ang strength ng weldable at nonweldable na rebar kung gagamitin mo ito sa pagpapatayo ng bahay wala po ba ito pagkakaiba?

    Kung hindi po better ang hook than the straight rebars, dahil posibling mangyari ang concrete cover spalling sa bent bars, pwede po bang lagyan na lang ng ulo ang end ng straight bars na parang pako na may ulo?

    hello Sir, tanong ko lang sana kung ang 50% splicing, dapat ba nasa kabilang floor ung kabilang 50% (kunwari 1st floor - 2nd floor yung una 50%, then 3rd floor - roof beam yung other 50%)? or pwede naman na nasa 2nd floor lahat ang location, pero naka staggered sila with 600mm/ld distance between sa dalawang 50% splicing ng rebars

    sir may questions po ako sana mapansin. 1. pag may tie or grade beam po ba, sa top of these beams po ba ang construction joint? then from the top of these beams to bottom of roof beam dito po ba kukunin ang H/4? 2. or kahit may tie or grade beam is from top of footing to bott. of roof beam po kukunin ang H/4? 3. or walang cold joint sa tie or grade beam?

    hello po question lang.. ano po magiging bearing kung yung poste namin ang nakadesign is 8 na 16mm vertical bars pero ang nagawa is 4 na 16mm and 4 na 12mm bars? 2 storey residential po.. sabi po kasi sa vid nyo is 6 na 16mm lang ang minimum na kailangan.. pwede po bang 4 na 16mm and 4 na 12mm? Salamat po

    Panu susukatin ang cu. m? Diba applicable halimbawa, Sa 23:02 23 bags of cement + 46 cu.ft of sand + 92 cu.ft of gravel gamit yung pantakal na ginawa at 1:2:4 kanina No idea talaga ako kaya interested ako sa panonood at pagkatuto. Wala din ako idea ganu kadami mga yan. Possible ba na macompute din yung cu.meter naman in terms of ilang truck or size ng truck ipapadeliver na sand at gravel? Maraming salamat po. Sana mapansin

      Hello po sa inyo. Paumanhin po sa late response. Hindi po nararapat na magtatayo ng pundasyon sa bagong naitambak na lupa at kahit ito ay na-compact pa. Unsafe po ito. Ang common practice ay humukay muna magmula sa existing/original/natural grade surface ng lupa ng 1.00m or deeper at pagkatapos ma-construct ang foundation ay tsaka pa lang magtatambak to the desired height. Ang foundation ay dapat tumayo sa isang matigas na undisturbed soil layer. Ito ay commonly specified sa halos lahat ng structural plans.

      Hello po sa inyo. Paumanhin po sa late response. Wala naman pong mangyayari na negative effect sa structure. Lalabas lang na magiging waste yung total length of hook na naidagdag sa dapat lang sana na haba ng bakal dahil walang namang added strength value and paggamit ng hook.

    when to use 90° or 180° hook? Can I use either as long as the minimum concrete covers are satisfied (e.g. bot, side, top?)

      Hello again. The straight answer is yes. But if reinforcing bars are to be fabricated manually and without the help of a bending machine, bear in mind that bending in 180 deg requires more time and effort than 90 deg especially for rebar size 16mm and larger. Hooks and bends are only to be used if there is no enough space for the reinforcing bar to be entirely covered by concrete in order to achieve its development length. In footings, there is always an option to select dimensions to sufficiently cover a straight reinforcing bar.

    do people use 180° hook instead of 90° because there isn't enough top cover?

      Hello. If using 90 deg bend will cause the rebar ends to protrude out of the footing top surface, then use 180 deg bend. But I would still recommend to have enough footing dimension to cover a straight reinforcing bar with strict compliance on concrete cover requirements.     Hi. I was wondering what is the standard size for beams for a single story residential structure in pampanga? I see that it is 16 mm because of earthquakes but they build my house with 12mm on the beams.

      Hello. I apologize for the late response. There is no such thing as standard size of reinforcing bar for beams or columns in our Structural Code (NSCP 2015). Although in engineering and construction practice, size 12mm for beams is usually sufficient and recommended for single and multiple storey residential. For columns, 12mm is adequate for single storey and 16mm for 2-storey. Thank you for trusting and supporting the channel.

      Hello. I apologize for the late response. As far as I know, there is no specified standard/minimum size of reinforcing bar for beams in our Structural Code (NSCP 2015). The size of rebars will be dependent to the overall configuration of the framework system, the sectional dimensions (which is also governed not only by strength capacity requirements but also the architectural constraints) and design loads imposed to the structure. Based from my experience, 12mm is sufficient for beams in multiple-storey residential. But for columns, 12mm is only good for single-storey and 16mm for 2-storey.       Hello po sa inyo. Paumanhin po sa late response. Depende po ito sa overall design. Kaya po naglalagay ng cut bars ay para ma-satisfy ang strength capacity requirement ng beam in a particular section or zone or region. Kung lalakihan ang rebar size, may possibility na hindi na kailangan pang maglagay ng cut bars. Matutukoy lang po ito sa pamamagitan ng design calculations. As much as possible, ang bawat poste ay dapat laterally supported ng beams. Maraming salamat po sa tiwala at suporta sa channel.
