Please , make "Andrew Lesnie Tribute ( The Lord of the Rings) . Thank you.
Where is Green Lantern in this video???
I ended up only using one shot from Green Lantern at 6:37.
Please , do Andrews Lesnie tribute ( The Lord of the Rings) Thank you .
Please , does Andrew Lesnie of The Lord of the rings . Thank You .
1:24 Nice.
if anyone wants a bit more rock and roll for the soundtrack so to speak, id recommend queuing up: 1. Gouge Away 2.Hey 3.Mr Grieves by The Pixies. Has zero relation to Gianna Di Venanzo but it goes hard tbh
I love this cinematographer the most. He inspired me to do photography in the same manner of his films.. especially for nighttime shooting. Gemini Man, 13 Hours, and Collateral were amazing, but I LOVED his work on Miami Vice!
One of the all-time greats.
The legacy is eternal. We can never forget Néstor Almendros’ photography. One of the best of all. Days of Heaven is the most beautiful film I've ever seen.
I went to high school with Tak & dated him. Awesome, talented man
Bro is the first silhouette shot 0:00 from The English Patient or another film?
Yes, it's The English Patient.
@@nosearmy9304 Ok thanks bro, I just rewatched Rain Man yesterday and realized John Seale is a real good and underrated cinematographer. And now I need to rewatch English Patient lol.
No problem. He's really good at tailoring his style to the material.
I'd like to see a tribute on Adam Greenberg and one on Don Burgess.
They're on the list to do.
And one on Bill Pope as well.
The Ghost And The Darkness is one of the most underappreciated movies ever made. And one of my favorites. Thankfully, Vilmos' work on the film didn't go unnoticed. At the 1997 American Society of Cinematographers Awards, he was nominated but lost to fellow nominee John Seale who did splendid work on The English Patient.
0:30-0:36 is one of The Deer Hunter's most exquisite shots.
Hey, Nosearmy. This was a great video to one of the greatest cameramen in all of cinema. It's a pity that Vilmos is no longer around now. Awesome video.
Yeah, he's one of my favorites.
Glad to see you back again with these awesome uploads, Nosearmy. Thanks.
Thanks.
5:22 ?
It's from "8 1/2". If you turn on the subtitle track it will tell you what movie each shot is from.
Is ther any behind the scene or info about how nykvist light his scenes in Persona?
I don't know. Sorry.
His work with Rob Marshall is outstanding. They are a great pair
I just want to drop a msg to say a hugee thank you for compiling cinematographer's pictures in this channel, appreciate that you appreciate the beauty of cinema!
Thank you
jean-yves escoffier is so underrated
我看了贫民窟的百万富翁后,感觉他的摄影真是一流

First Song: Shostakovich - "Waltz #2" Second Song: Preisner - "Lacrimosa, Day of Tears"
Would be wonderful if you do a video on Subrata Mitra.
At first I thought Jan De Bont shot Popstar
6.15
"Requiem for a Dream"
0.20
If you mean the guy running it's "Requiem for a Dream". The shot after that on stage is "A Star is Born" (2018)
Un grande Navarro
Love seeing a tribute to one of the best ever Cinematographer Robby Muller. Master of both chiaroscuro lighting and beautifully composed shots. Would love to see also a tribute to (Oooh, granted Not a Cinematographer) director Michaelangelo Antonioni, also a master of composition within the frame. Also, James Wong Howe.
Yeah, Robby Muller is one of my all-time favorites. A video for Gianni Di Venanzo, who shot several Antonioni films, is in the works and should be out in the near future. James Wong Howe is one of my favorites, too. I just wish I could find a good copy of "Hud".
@@nosearmy9304 Thanks. 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊.
Great work!!! Again. Such a nice flow here. Saw NINE recently and found it - like CHICAGO - rather empty as a film. But Beebe's lighting made it a joy to watch. But he also shot one of my all-time favorites: COLLATERAL.
I agree. Those two films are kind of empty.
Thank you for your hard work and time :)
Amazing edit as always!
Thank you
At your best form. Your editing does more than just highlight the DOP's work, it also works perfectly with the score as a music video.
Welcome back old friend!!
Thanks
Ideas for next video: Chung Chung-hoon Shabier Kirchner Linus Sandgren James Laxton Eduard Grau
Chung Chung-hoon might happen pretty soon.
So happy every time I see a new post.
Thanks.
Indeed it is! Thank you!
love this shit
Thanks
Wishing you captioned the films with their titles. The leans are easy to identify.....but grateful for your compilation.
Thanks. I'll look into adding a subtitle track for the videos.
I added a subtitle track to my latest video (Slawomir Idziak) as a test. Please let me know what you think. I'll work on the others when I can.
What shot is 5:38 from?
The shot of Rutger Hauer walking with a shotgun? It's from "The Hitcher" (1986)
@nosearmy9304 thanks. Fast response
@@nosearmy9304 thanks
@@nosearmy9304 thanks mate
What's the film at 5:30? I assume that's a Fassbinder?
The one with the bikers? That's "After Hours".
@@nosearmy9304thanks
He does a great job of portraying the emotion of the scene over the visual clarity of it.
Strepitoso
Thanks!!! Just went to the B/W-section of my DVD collection and watched PAPER MOON. What a time trip into the 30s! Surely among the very best of Kovacs!
I'm always a sucker for black & white.
@@nosearmy9304 Yes! Me too. So, from time to time I watch a film with saturation turned to 0. Works beautifully with many period pics like CHINATOWN or LIFE (by Corbijn). Latest example, try it if you can: T he second screen version of Orwell's 1984 with DP Roger Deakins. Looks absolutely perfect in BW!! They wanted to shoot it in BW anyway, but the producers... always the same story. So they used some special desaturation of the colors. But Deakins lit it with BW contrasts. And it shows!
どのシーンを観てもため息しか出てこない。 美の極み。
Sergei Urusevsky needs some love!
Please , does of Andrew Lesnie ( The Lord of the Rings) Thank you .
