This movie has such a distinct aesthetic. There’s many movies that looked it it in the 90’s also but there’s something else that slaps so hard. Like the way it’s shot, the colours, the fashion and even the houses and locations it’s such a vibe. I was an Asian immigrant living in Australia for one year when this movie came out and I literally thought this is how all white people lived and looked and I was sooooo jealous 😂😂😂

The amount of comments that speak to Miranda being a vile character, hence the title of the film, is understood but to those of us that have worked for a Miranda, we have a profound amount of respect for them as a person given the lessons we learned. I worked for a Miranda one summer and in that summer I was inspired beyond imagination. She taught me the art of business communication, forwardness, getting things done, etc. My time with her ended due to creative differences, but the respect we had for each other reminded me greatly of this movie, because I had a Miranda that gave me the will and strength to go after my dreams and do more than I thought I was mentally or physically capable of doing. While I've yet to reach the status I aspire just yet, I'm on the road and it feels good to have my Miranda reach out and say, "I see you and I'm proud of you." Means the world, so I get that for the purpose of the film, Miranda was the least likely boss to have, but I think we'd all be lying if we said we didn't see a growth in Andy that likely wouldn't have happened if Miranda hadn't entered her life. Thanks to my Miranda for being the push I needed.
