Mazdaspeed6 Bumper Tab Fix!
Tired of your bumper popping out of place all the time? I know I sure was! This video shows exactly what I did to fix it! This should work for nearly any car with broken tabs, however, quicklatch does sell kits specific for gen1 and gen2 mazdaspeed3's
Parts used: www.quik-latch.com/QL-25-series-mini-latches.html
I purchased the QL-25-S, which is a mini series quick latch with 1.25" diameter in brushed aluminum. They do have other colors available, so pick whichever color you would like and don't forget to select 1.25" size when you order. They are sold individually, so you will need to add 2 to the cart.

What is a shock setup I can go with. Should I do Koni, with some springs, do I need to purchase Strut and shock mounts? Are Coil overs easier to install? • @spillybuilt7491
      @spillybuilt7491 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KBradAdams the shocks are pretty easy. 2 bolts on bottom, 3 on top. Then I think you have to disconnect the brake line to get it out of the bracket. So you’d have to bleed the brakes afterwards. I went with coilovers because I planned on racing it, but koni would be a great street option. The worst part of that would be having to swap the spring over from the original, so I’d personally get a coilover like bc racing so it’s a simple remove and replace. If you happen to be in kc area, you could just take my old ones. I still have them lol

    I just pulled a motor out of a customers speed6 last night and i did what you did for the axles but i am also here to warn you its going to be a pain in the rear to put the motor back with the axles like that. what i suggest to give you more room is to disconnect the sway bar inlink and then disconnect the strut from the bottom. Also take the entire caliper off the rotor this will free up your brake line and also give you a little more room to pull the axle out of the spindle. i know that you also ready have the motor out so you could just pull it out from under the hood this was for those that wanted to do it before pulling the motor or reinstalling it after you put the motor back in. now without removing the front lower control arm the axle will not come out of the car because the control arm will not drop far enough below the strut fork to get it is out so you will have to take the lower control arm out of he frame which is a 19mm located on the inner part of the subframe then you will have all the room you will need to install or uninstall your axles. Hope this helps you and other. I know this is a very old post and you may have installed the motor back in by now so this may be a mute point for you so YOU disregard.....lol

    • @spillybuilt7491
      @spillybuilt7491 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea the car has long since been put back together haha. But it wasn’t that hard to get the axles back in upon install. I have worked on many speeds and my philosophy is to take apart as little as possible, because if you break/strip something, most of the time you can’t just run to the local parts store and grab a new part. Waiting days or weeks is not ok for me as someone who does their own work , and occasionally helps others with their cars

      I believe I got the boot from primedriven, and the plastic piece is either from prime as well, twos r us, or mr2 heaven. As for rhd being the same, I’m not sure. The description of the products online might say if they work for both models or not.

    Great advice! It's pricey from your link but only $10 on eBay for the pair! Thanks!

    Just junk the over rated Mazda BS. You get to drive it 36 days when the other 330 days will give you stress from you not driving it.

      I appreciate the input. I have more than 36 days on the car this year already
