I love your channel! I’ve combed through thousands of chimpanzee videos (I can’t explain my fascination) and a disproportionate amount of my favorite clips are from your channel. You have captured the most interesting interactions. Thank you for your time and effort spent traveling and filming and editing. I love the context provided in your captions. You are a precious gift to the ape viewing community.
Where' is that at ?
I wanted to cling to my mother like that and never leave. Because the world is a scary place.
The sister has dad’s coloring. Mom is keeping her baby very close to keep warm. Beautiful family. Adorable little baby who has dad’s coloring too. 🥰❤️❤️
Little brother and big sister are too cute, I wonder what they think of baby Gibbon! Hopefully when baby gets a bit bigger they will be able to play together before big sister gets so big she has to start her own family elsewhere:D
I'm sure we'll be seeing lots of play with all 3 of them before big sister ships of! Maybe even this summer. So far they seem curious, but also do seem to give mom all the space she needs😁
Gibbons are just wonderful ❤
They're really incredible creatures and seeing them move around never gets old! 🤩
Can the monkeys hear all the noises visitors make? If so, it is a torture for the poor animals and absolutely unacceptable. So small enclosure and a bunch of people that don't know how to behave around animals. Very upsetting!
Monkeys have tails, apes (Chimpanzees, Gorillas, Homo Sapiens, Gibbons, Siamangs, Orangutans and Bonobo/Pgymy Chimpanzees) don't have tails.
They are apes, not monkeys. The ape house is a silent zone, and most people do follow these rules. Rowdy people are usually kicked out by zoo staff. Majority of the time it is quiet, it is just a few hours in the weekend it can get a bit noisy and if the chimps are tired of the noise they have free acess to the backrooms, far away from the guests. You might get the impression that the enclosure is small, but it is actually one of the biggest indoor chimp enclosures I've seen in zoos. It is well designed and has a good size, having mulitple rooms and a high cieling with lots of climbing opputunities. They have also just finished building a new spacious outdoor area for the chimps, which will open as the weather gets warmer and makes any noise issues much easier for the zoo and the chimps to control.
Happy birthday fellow ape buddy! 🦍🎉😉
Disgusting how this place allows people to purposely agitate and mock them.. i swear if i owned a sanctuary or zoo i would never allow children in. Bad kids come from bad parents
Mocking and agitating the chimps is not allowed, the chimp house is a silent zone and there's many notices that you're not allowed to knock on the glass. When staff at the zoo notice guests being disruptive they also throw them out. We would really appreciate if you don't leave misinforming comments like this in the future, as your claims are very strong and completely untrue.
Wow you can tell this place doesn’t do much for the chimps. No creative,@.’/., hay or blankets or toys of any kind. No enrichment food items
While I'm sure you're coming from the right place, that claim is simply not true. The chimps gets sacks they use as blankets, plenty of woodwall for nesting and they get food puzzles like artificial termite mounds and other items where they have to work to get their food out. It's true they have no toys, but they have lots of rope that the younger chimps use to swing and play on and encourages lots of natural behavior. You're welcome to check out our other videos to see these things.
@ i hope so… it just looks so empty here i get upset when i see smaller enclosures with nothing for them to do.. they are so smart and deserve more than average animals in zoos/sanctuaries
Bravo Seli! That's an awesome nest! ❤
I was impressed how big he was able to make it! And seems he found a great spot for it as well. ☺
Great video. Please consider yellow subtitles.
Thank you! We want our subtitles to be as readable as possible, so we'll definitely consider that for future videos.
Happy Birthday Senko 🥰
Seli! What are the others going to make a nest to lie on? Everyone for themselves! You snooze you lose. 😂😂😂
Sometimes chimps can be greedy 🤭 At least Seli had a comfortable nest!
@ The best in the room! 😂
wishing senko good wind on his big day:) hopefully he got a lot of attention from the others and some delicious food
Let's hope so! They don't usually do much for birthdays in Copenhagen Zoo, but I can hope they got him a few extra snacks at least.
@apediaries Give them more room, some suitable enclosure, and tell visitors not to annoy the chimps. The noise visitors make are unacceptable. It was annoying for me, and what about the monkey? What I see on this short film is plain abuse!
@@arslibribookdesignandbookr8124 you have not seen actual abuse then. The chimps have a large three part enclosure with lots of enrichment and are getting an entirely new outdoor area this spring. I agree some parts do not look pretty to a human eye but apes do not care about this at all
Nje does seem to be getting everybody’s attention loud and clear. I am the Alpha! 😂😂
Welcome to adulthood Senko. You are a handsome one. There will be life challenges but you’ll be able to handle them. Enjoy life. 🥰❤️❤️
Thank you for your sweet comment, Denise! I feel Senko grows more confident with every day that passes, even though he is in a tough place in his life right now, I'm sure when he reaches adulthood he'll be a confident and happy chimp ❤
@ I did notice that, but if he keeps grooming and getting closer to the Alpha and the older chimps, he may be ok. He was showing a lot of display. 🥰
@@denisemorris1177 Agreed, luckily it does seem like Nje likes him and will even share his food with him at times. Maybe him and Moku will let Senko join them when they display in the future. ☺
@ Let’s keep our fingers crossed 🤞.
Do they have a yard to play in or just these 2 rooms?@apediaries
sweet seli, save some nesting material for the rest!
❤❤❤❤❤
Adorabile ❤❤❤❤❤
Wow Knaus! 🥰❤️❤️
He looks so cool sitting there at the end 🤣
Svabba looks to be a Strong Alpha! Much more Agile than Knaus is! The Females Scream in Acknowledgement of the Alpha Males Presence and their Display! Nice group of Chimps I think this is my 1st time viewing these Chimps! 🙂
Svabba is very well respected by the ladies, it does seem Knaus' wants to take his position sometimes down the line, but he'll need to work on getting some more respect before he tries 😉
This troop seems to be pretty stable and emotionally well adjusted for being in captivity. greatvideo &commentary 👍
Thank you! Knaus can often make a lot of trouble at times making some of the ladies upset, but that is also exactly how he should be acting for his age! Since the group is small it does keep things "exciting" for the others, which helps keep their behavior more normal as they don't become too lazy.
He’s being sweet silly. 🤪 Svabba is really cool. A beautiful group. 🥰❤️❤️
Thank you! Completely agree, they're a wonderful group ❤
BEAUTIFUL FAMILY of Chimps! 🙂 1st time I've seen these Chimps! The Youngsters Look Awesome, Healthy & Extremely HAPPY! 🙂
Thank you for your kind words, we're happy to have introduced you to the wonderful chimps in Copenhagen Zoo! 🤗
Is ruti pals lady?
Ruti and Pal are put together as a couple, you could she is his lady, and he is her man 😉
I was suprised to see these were filmed in 2024, idk why but for some reason I felt like they were filmed late 90s or early 2000s. Great videos.
Our camera equipment is a bit on the older side, we use a photo camera and a camcorder both from the early 2010s, which might give our videos an older look. The ape house also has an older design. Glad you enjoy the videos! ☺
Great videos and commentary. Thank you
Maka that’s asparagus. You may have a tough time trying to eat it. 🥰❤️❤️
Crazy the difference between chimps and gorillas. Gorillas are so much more relaxed and kind to each other. Chimps are straight up savages
❤❤❤
Mutai is a little rascal. 😂😂
He really is 🤣 Always making trouble, but he still has a heart of gold ❤
@apediaries I’m going to enjoy watching him .😆😆
Hello Maka! You are very pretty. Hope to see more of you. I love 💕 you already. 🥰❤️❤️
she is way too cute!! i love you maka!!!!
She's simply the cutest! You just can't get enough of her ❤

You are doing really outstanding work on this channel! Thanks for what you do, and for doing it with obviously great care and attention to detail. Just the quality footage on its own is a real gift to the chimp-watching community on TH-cam, and especially since it’s a new and unique group (to me, at least) with previously little or no footage here. The context provided in the captions is extremely helpful, and your editing and filming is really as good as it gets. You have captured some really fascinating interactions right off the bat. I tried to explain to my husband the other day: when the chimps do get aggressive, it’s not the fighting that is so interesting but the conflict. Like, their individual motivations and status and anxieties and the relationships they depend on, and when they do or don’t choose to fulfill another chimp’s expectations of them, and how their reactions during conflict can mirror humans’ so closely - just without the spoken language. Anyway, thanks for your contributions here and for your time and effort in making them. Out of maybe 9,000 or 10,000 ape clips I’ve watched on TH-cam, yours were quickly and consistently some of the very best. Your care and consideration do not go unappreciated. I am humbly and somewhat desperately anticipating more. Happy new year!
Thank you so much for your kind words! A goal of ours have been to have the videos be both educational as well as entertaining, and a way for people to get to know some apes they might not already be familiar with! We're working on new videos, and hope to release a good chunk of them soon, hope you enjoy ❤
Agreed
Yoran is so big!!
The biggest boy in the jungle!
It's heartbreaking to see him so upset 😢 Good that he and Senko reconciliated ❤
A small disclaimer: Some of the zoo guests thought the chimps were behaving like this because they had gone mad, however this is natural behavior for male chimpanzees. They display to show strength as a "bluff" and because of this they rarely get into physical altercations. While it can be upsetting to see the chimps upset (and especially sweet Yoran who didn't do anything wrong) it is natural for them to challenge each other and especially normal for the young males who aren't yet adults (in this case Senko) to challenge the other adults in hope of rising through the ranks. The chimps are not acting like this because they dislike each other or because they're stressed and mistreated the zoo.
Exactly right! Normal chimp behavior may look "crazy" to us, but if people learned a little more about chimpanzees, their social dynamics and behavior, they'd understand and appreciate these fascinating animals more. Great job narrating the action and explaining what was happening.
@@pamcunningham9608 Glad you liked the video! 🤗We completely agree that people tend to lack knowledge of the chimpanzees' behavior, even when the chimps are just playing some people believe they are crazy and fighting 😅 We hope that our channel might be able to teach people more of the interesting chimpanzee behavior.
Mono 🙉😅
Zoo Cimap 😅
As if the new door bites. So neat to see this group.
Oh my goodness she’s so sweet!
