Camp and Ride
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 7 ธ.ค. 2020
Camp and Ride is about family, camping, and riding anything in the great outdoors. We camp throughout the Unites States and will document our camping excursions. We ride atv's, utv's, sxs, horses, boats, motorcycles and feet. Our family owns and rides Polaris rzr, Polaris general, Yamaha rmax4, Kawasaki motorcycles, Kawasaki klrx, and I own and ride a Yamaha Tenere 700. We adventure motorcycle ride throughout the west. We live in Utah and enjoy camping and riding the San Rafael Swell, Rocky Mountains, and deserts of Utah. While we camp and ride we test and review products that we enjoy and find useful.
Ride to SUFCO Coal Mine
When I ride east towards the San Rafael and cannot ride over the mountain because of snow, I often ride the I70 frontage road. This time a took a detour to SUFCO coal mine.

2024 Baker Hot Springs Utah
มุมมอง 56หลายเดือนก่อน
We decided to ride to the Utah Riverbed Ranch via Baker Hot Springs. There is always prople and Baker Hot Springs and today was not exception. I have not been there for a couple of years and they installed a pit toilet and some concrete around the tubes. It lood better and it keeps the hot pots cleaner.
Grand Canyon Tuweep Overlook (Part 4)
มุมมอง 79หลายเดือนก่อน
Tuweep is our last overlook but, what a spectacular one at that. The temperature got cool going over Mt. Trumble but soon heated up again once we lost elevation. Tuweep is always beautiful and with a little spring green it was special. We left Toroweep and got back to St. George around 4:00. I think our total mileage for the whole trip was about 400 miles. This was a three day adventure bike ri...
Grand Canyon Whitmore Canyon Overlook (Part 3)
มุมมอง 184หลายเดือนก่อน
Day 2 of our ride took us to the Bar 10 Ranch in Whitmore Canyon of the Grand Canyon. Most of us were running low on fuel and food so Bar 10 was a welcome site. Once checked at Bar 10 and before dinner we rode out to the Whitmore overlook. Whitmore Canyon drops in elevation and gets you down pretty close to the Colorado River. If you get a chance to stay at the Bar 10 , do it. The food is super...
Grand Canyon Kelly Point (Part2)
มุมมอง 174หลายเดือนก่อน
Our second overlook visit was Kelly Point. We arrive on our first day of riding and spent the night at the overlook. After a god nights rest and some dinner we made the trek out and headed towards Whitmore Overlook. The road into Kelly Point was tough. As you will see in the video there were a lot of rocks, some mud and a long trail. This was a three day adventure bike ride to t he Grand Canyon...
Grand Canyon Twin Point Trail and Overlook (part 1)
มุมมอง 212หลายเดือนก่อน
This was a three day adventure bike ride to t he Grand Canyon to visit four of the lesser known trails and overlooks of the Grand Canyon. We started our trip in St. George, Utah. Distance from St. George to Twin Point, the first overlook was about 95 miles. Seven of went on this trip. Jared on the GS 1200, CJ on the KLR 650, CJ's dad Brandon on the KLR 650, Sanpete Jeff on the Tenere 700, Dave ...

Whitney Pocket Gold Butte Lake Mead - KTM 890

We rode from Mesquite Nevada to Whittney Pocket where there was a small damn and water system for livestock plus some other interesting structures. From there we rode to Littlle Finland then on to the shore of Lake Mead along cat scratch trail. After that it was a fun fast 2 track to Gold Butte townsite and then back to Mesquite.
Tusk 2Track Adventure Tire
มุมมอง 2.2K4 หลายเดือนก่อน
I tested the Tusk 2Track rear tire over 300 miles and it turns out to be a great adventure bike tire. I rode through rocks, sand, uphill and down. Overall the traction is very good but what I like most is the cornering stability of the tire. It never let me down in tight fast corners. Keep in mind this an Adventure Tire not a Knobby. Other more aggressive tires will have better traction in sand...

Mesquite Nevada v to Pierce Ferry Arizona: Some Quick Clips
มุมมอง 2446 หลายเดือนก่อน
Once or twice or three times a year we haul our bikes from the cold to the cool of Mesquite Nevada and ride south to discover new and interesting places and people. This was another of those rides. For me there were some new faces along with great places to ride and adventure.

That’s actually very good
She is beautiful, magnificent, stately and does it all with style. She can never hold the true title of "Queen of the Ocean" though no matter what she does. I exclusively sail on Royal but recognize that fact still. Certain that many feel the same.

Where you tires affected by the recall?
Mine tire was effected. Rocky Mtn sent me a new tire and a $100 gift card and I am still running the tire.
Drove part of this trail last year. One Jeep in our group went in one of the potholes, getting him out & doing some trail repairs took most of an afternoon. We decided after that to make our retreat.
The google link map doesnt work
I have never been to there. When I worked for the BLM west of Delta.
Both are extremes. And extremes are never good, u need balance. One is all performance zero reliability the other is all reliability zero performance and features
I have 13,000 miles on my 890 without a problem. Zero reliability is not accurate at all. That my friend is an extreme statement.
@@campandride1 less reliable than 990 produced 20years ago. That's not how I see progress. They didn't change or learn anything

Thanks again Jeff for the invite and all your planning and great leading
Well done!! Sorry I missed it...
One of the most remote area in all of the lower 48! Will have to try Whitmore Canyon
The climb out is a challenge it takes hp
Congratulations,im thinking about looking into one since im getting a 2024 duke 390 for just commuting but i would love a bike thst can do both, street an trails, would be awesome an 2 i know it handle carrying my lady as my passenger so we can both go on camp adventures too ,nice looking bike.
I had one. It was terrible….try hitting the right button with your winter gloves on. Volume up was next to system off, very inconvenient as volume kept going down during riding. If you want to connect a phone, navi and tft, better use a two channel system.

Thank you for all the information..👍👍👍
AMAZING LANDSCAPE 👍👍👍👍👍
It’s the perfect bike, I’m glad yours is great, but I need 1 bike and no car for everything. I just have no confidence in ktm reliability
Please could you give make/model of your screen spoiler. As you say, it looks really well made and there are so many poir efforts. Thanks
I enjoyed your review, thanks 👍

Take me back soon por favor..
Stunning scenery! Where is the place? (Time around 2:30) I’m in SoCal, and like to have long distance trips for this sort of roads. Do you still love 2Tracks? I’m considering this compared to AX41 / Wild(michelin)
This is Gold Butte Nevada East side of Lake Mead. Yeah I just put another 500 mi on the two track and I really like them they're going to be a great tire.
Thanks!
These are great bikes, I thought I had to get the 890R so I did...... Despite my best attempts to get it a little bit lower...... I just get one foot down @ 6 foot tall, 33.5" inseam. Which is OK until its not, like a zero speed U Turn involving holes etc. I did put one step softer springs ft and rear, and it still doesnt have the sag it should. I weigh 170 lbs. It is coming up on it's first valve adj check with nearly 18,000 miles on it. It has been 100% trouble free, haven't even adjusted the chain yet. The engine makes a lot of power yes, but it is so nice and mellow yet strong at mid range, just an amazing engine. On street the 100HP is great, it can zoom along all day smooth as can be. Cruise control is great. I can run it at lower revs all day and get 56 mpg. Gives a huge travel range. I know the limitations of a T7, and they have their good points. I'm a KTM guy from way, way back. Like the early 80's.
Please let me know how the valves look. I am anxious about that also.
@@campandride1Spending too much time online can ruin the enjoyment of almost any bike, some people are very determined to say all KTM's are crap. They enjoy it.....if every cam went bad we would know it, there would be huge recalls.
This was big with KLR guys for awhile. Rather than learn how to ride sand they were sure putting a rear tire on the front would be the fix. (If it was really better, everybody would have done this 40 years ago, every Dakar rider would have it for sand) Not a one does so.
You still have to learn to ride sand. The tire for me is to take the shock out of my shoulders when riding rocks.
I'm 58, just picked up a new 23 Norden 901(essentially the same bike as yours). Haven't had a chance to ride it yet (winter in Canada), but really looking forward to it after 5 years on my DR 650, which will stay in the garage for now.
You're going to love that bike. I had a t700 before this it just wasn't for me. The weight the handling the low center of gravity the suspension are all just superior. Hit me up if you ever get to Utah.
I still have my DR, but it hasnt gone out much since I got the 890R. The 890 is addicting to put it mildly. DR's are very hard to kill. I put 51,000 miles on mine and it couldnt care less, runs like it always did and I beat it pretty darn hard.
Beautiful Ride and nice work on the new tires!!! Look forward to seeing how they transition when worn down 50% or more but a Stupid promising start on several channels. Subbed!
Did you see any signs anywhere once you got on the Rincon turn on Grey Mesa that said no motor vehicles? We did not
We did not.
Beautiful area. In which state are you riding? Sounds like the 2Track is a solid ADV tire set.
That area is Arizona and Nevada. We are in Utah but often ride south when it gets cold. It seems like the 2track is going to be really good. I think it hooks up as well as the Motoz I have used. We will get another couple of thousand miles on them in do another review. Where are you located?
@campandride1 I'm in northern California and awaiting the CA BDR North in a couple weeks. Riding a KTM 640 Adventure which I believe these tires will fit.
@@osimnod can't wait to ride the NorCal BDR.
@@osimnodrespect for Ktm 640
Thanks. It's an iconic dual sport, for sure.
What’s the tire set up !! Love the fat front tire.
Motoz Mountain Extreme on the front with a warp9 18-in rim. I ran a pirelli MT-43 on the front for about 3,500 mi and it was really good. It was softer than the motoz. I ran about 15 lb in the pirelli I'm running about 17 in the motoz. I will let some out this week and write it some more. It's really a stiff tire. Running 18-in fatties on the front takes a lot of the shock out of my shoulders it's really good in the rocks in the sand. Back tire is the tusk to track I'm running 32 PSI in it.
Interesting
I put a new motoz mountain extreme on the front a lot more aggressive a lot more tread but it is taking a while to break in. I'm running 17 and a half pounds in the new tire and it's too much I'll go down to 15psi.
Cheers. I've got a 390Adv and it annoys me the chain hitting the underside of this huge swingarm just too much making this clunky noise all the time when riding off-road. Yes, the chain is tensioned up enough. Can't do more because tensioning increases a lot when rear suspension compresses. You didn't mention it, still interested if that bothers a bit.
It turns out most of my chain slap came from the broken chain guard. For the back bolt screws in that plastic broke and it came loose and was just slapping all the time.
It's not just the Armax 1000 wolverine you guys !! I just bought a 2023 850 Wolverine. And it's doing the exact same thing !! Extremely annoying after spending that much money !
How good would you feel the reliability of this bike after 20000 miles? Thanks for the video
I feel it will be good. I have over 10,000 mi on the bike and plan on taking it in for the 18,000 mi valve check while it's still under warranty. I should have 18,000 mi on it late summer 2024 and we will know for sure.
Just a question here. Does the heat coming from the engine bother you or did not even noticed? Thanks for the video .
Yes during the heat of the summer I do feel that heat. I often ride in 100 to 105° weather and I definitely feel it.
I feel it yes but not enough heat to keep me from riding when it's hot.
Thanks for the honest review, appreciate it. It is SRL by the way, not SLR. :)
I hate to admit it, but that bike is so much better looking than my 2020 890 adventure R
Excellent that tire looks great 😊😊
Nice review and bike. I have new 790 also not R model. When you say they tweak suspension, you mean only back shock adjustment or? As you can't do nothing in front at least without extra know how. Thanks and many happy miles 🤘
