I play Smolder on Arena, it's pretty alright. You build AP starting/item + spell haste boots in whichever order you find confortable. You try to high roll for a starting passive that gives you either ability haste, or the best one that increases the stacks you gain by 75%. For the prismatic none of them is amazing or anything but you are aiming for Crown, Runecarver, Drakthar or Moonflare. Then you get in order: Hellfire Hatchet, Liandry's, Shuojin and Perplexity as final item you can replace boots for whatever you feel confortable with, normally a defensive item You do quick job of any healthbar as long as you can keep the distance for a while

You believe as is a useless stat in arena until you face some as champion or urgot who eats the plant in a second

That minimap ain't mini anymore, it's just a map at this point.

Kayn carried your a$$ and you picked the anvils horribly, you had 100% AP to AD conversion and you still picked 20~ AD instead of 43 AP.

Voli carried late while you carried early with some really nice plays. And you still made a considerable impact with your damage in the later fights.

please buy at least 1 or 2 items that synergise with smolder + STARTING item that's like so big

Blackfire torch smolder is the new best. Comparison to what Torch Provides Vs Old ER 1)Cdr 2)Solves Mana Issues 3)Dmg On Q/W/R. Added bonus if you dont need to go liandries later for the execute burn. Full build is 1)Blackfire Torch 2)Swifties 3)Shojin 4)RFC I like 5/6th items as force of nature/randuins usually as i dont feel lacking in damage. Smolder feels really strong with this build :)

Asol enjoyer here. Asol is relatively weak due to his poor interactions with most of the augments/items that mages want to exploit paired with his comparatively slow damage output and poor inbuilt survivability, but he scales very well if he does manage to make it to later rounds. Ideal augments are %damage increases. Where regular items give 6-12% per slot and have suboptimal stats for asol, arena augments give 25-50%. This makes Q reach critical mass faster and locks out later rounds entirely. Ideal prismatic items are defensive ones (Starry Night, Molten Stone, Hemomancer's, maybe Sanguine Gift) because his kit already carries damage well enough and the defensive prismatics are significant for their slot. One can go an offensive option like Detonation Orb or Talisman of Ascension, but this leaves one open to getting popped faster than it takes for ult to land or Q to finish. I personally sell the prismatic and purchase a decent legendary if I'm not given one of these options. There are a lot of possible item combinations that Asol can grab, but generally consider the following: Rod of Ages or Archangel's Staff for early survivability, Perplexity and/or Bloodletter's Curse for MR shred, Riftmaker for sustain, Liandry's or Rabadon's for damage. Always be ready to switch out boots or starter item for a tech response to enemies, such as another tank item or antiheal.
