    Love your videos. You know. I’m thinking. You and other relators should do event in the city. You all should do something where you get local apartment complexes and local real estate agency together. Do a big housing fair. Have games, dog area, and just let people see all the amazing places they can live in st.louis. Maybe even have shuttles that take people from the main event area to the apartment complexes or houses and do tours. That would be huge I promise.

    New town is the chesterfield of st charles. Be prepared to spend a buttload of money. However, it’s beautiful and reminds me of New Orleans. Anywhere around Main Street st charles will be crowded with tourists; but if you live close and walk dogs, each business has a doggy bowl outside so your dog won’t get overheated. The ones of us who live near Main Street can say it’s a pain in the ass so if you’re trying to go to the store and an event is happening there will be a long stop and go trip (because they’ll have all the main streets shut off; better off hopping on 370 to earth city and taking it to 70. I grew up on the opposite side of st charles (st charles west school) and then went to north county and came back 14 yrs ago. I will never go back to north county but know that the st charles area by Main Street is by the soup kitchen (which means loads of homeless individuals and drugs; we’re basically the country ghetto). Just things I wished I’d kniwn

    You've made some good points. One thing that I'm not sure if you've mentioned is that the more and the better amenities included also tends to lead to higher monthly HOA fees. I've seen some at several hundred to over $1K a Month. That might price some people out of a condo. A couple buildings I like to check out occasionally to see their available condos are the Marquette Building and the Blu City Spaces buildings. They're in different parts of downtown, and they both have different aspects that might draw me to want to live there. The CWE and Debaliver neighborhoods also have attractive condo listings to me.

    • @LivingStLouis
      @LivingStLouis 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes that's a really good point! The reason I didn't get too into specifics with HOA fees is that they vary so much, even within the same building. For example a 1-bed unit in a building with a lot of amenities might cost $300 a month in condo fees while a 3-bed unit in the same building might have an HOA fee of $1,100 a month

    Jacob, I think it would have been a good idea to mention the streets that bound downtown: Tucker Blvd. to the West, Wash Ave. to the North, Third Street to the East and Clark Ave. to the South. Also I did a quick Google check and there don't appear to be any schools located in the immediate downtown area. There is one listed on South Kingshighway and another on McPherson but those are not downtown. To me downtown is the business district and where City Hall is located. Hope this info helps.

    • @kennethbrandl4652

      As documented by Google and the city, Cole street in the north (with some others when you cross the interstate) and Chouteau to the south are the N/S streets that make downtown. If it were Wash Ave then you would be cutting off the North half of the street and convention center and if it were Clark you would be excluding half of the Cardinals propoerty IE the stadium. It isn't downtown but Confluence Prep is at Olive and 14th. Not SLPS but it is an option.

      How do you mean that?

      @LivingStLouis The same racial dynamic that played out in parts of North County appears to be starting in St. Charles. The dynamic can't be stopped once it gets going.

    dont go down the wrong streets here. dont stop at stop signs in certain places around here, for some reason that will get a gun pulled on you. some places are fine but most of the nothern and outer downtown places is pretty damn bad

    I wish there was a know before you buy in Warren county, specifically Wright City. I wanted St Charles area, but husband wanted outside of St Charles county, but we bought in Wright City Feb 2024, and we have had antisemitic acts from week one. Now we are stuck as neighbours threaten, we are trying to get house ready to rent or sell if we can sell… but… warning …. Wright city is very xtianly. So I wonder, where are the xtians that say they stand with Israel… or is it the land they stand with and not us Jews. So yeah… would have loved to have had a heads up on the area before purchasing, in Wright city, and all the New Town residents we have met seemed respectful towards us, where here, we can not even go to the gas station, wentzville or Schnucks in Warrenton with out one of our neighbours telling us we need to accept Jc or we will burn….. maybe it’s the difference between rural people to suburban?

    The main issue/difference is crime and politics. Saint Charles is more conservative with crime and spending. Saint Louis is more progressive with being soft on crime and focuses more on welfare services. When it comes to economy, Saint Charles focuses on infrastructure (paid by taxes). When it comes to Saint Louis, its spending focuses on welfare. Avoid Saint Louis if you’re looking to retire, raise a family, have peace of mind, etc. I’m not saying Saint Charles doesn’t have issues, but much better than STL. I’m from NYC, Saint Louis is worse than NYC. As for the zoo, it’s not free. It’s paid by tax payers aka welfare.

      You're be the perfect person to ask! I'm from Manhattan, UWS, right by Columbia Univiersity. Looking to move to St. Charles/St. Louis area. What areas in St. Louis do you recommend? I'm looking for 3/2 with minimum 1 acrea. After so many years in apt dwellings, I'm looking for a little breathing room. What areas do you recommend? Where should I stay away from? Any tips? Lastly: How did you zero in on St Louis/St Charles' areas? Thank you kindly for your time! :0)

      @@myragarces-madera2450I’d recommend you live in the south or so west section of Saint Louis County. I don’t recommend living in the north, north east, or Saint Louis City. Since you’re looking for land you have Town and Country or Affton (both Saint Louis county). Now when it comes to Saint Charles….Wentzville, Lake Saint Louis, and O’fallon. I’d love to retire in Saint Peter’s, but it’s very expensive. I do need to warn you. Do not move to the north section of Saint Louis County. Do not!

      @@myragarces-madera2450answer the last question, I found Saint Charles because of my ex. I’ve been here for a few years so I became familiar with the area before buying property. You can leave your door unlocked in Saint Charles, that’s how low the crime rate is. Down side, slightly higher property tax.
