Why People Are STILL Buying New Construction With Rising Interest Rates
I lived in the Mansion House building on 4th street for a while. The worst part was having to navigate a parking garage every time you want to leave. It was cool being able to walk to BP village. At 25 it was fine. At 31, I wouldn’t want to do it again lol
might be moving to st louis next year so i’m trying to psych myself up now :)) any thoughts on or things to consider about renting a luxury apartment?
Yess! Keep in mind the amenities that are important to you and base your search around the buildings that fit (e.g secure parking either included or available for an additional fee, pet areas, gym, lounge, pool, business center)
moving to st louis? things to know. your car will be broken into/ or hit by a another, people are either really nice or shitty and NEVER... travel off the free way while in the north metro area. good luck.
Step 1 have trust fund
Hahaha
How much yall buying homes for and where
St. Louis is probably one of the best cities to raise a family for sure.
If you like to exercise your neck since it will constantly “be on a swivel” move downtown.
First tip to living in downtown is dont do it.
Well to each their own right?
1) from observation south county, st. Charles county, and east stl are the only areas I’ve seen mobile home neighborhoods… to give insight on the full range of housing options existent in metro area.. Being said, if you’re in the market for a mobile home, this guy is clearly not the RE agent to inquire towards… 💩the way he was glazing the sprawl, you’d think he was the main reason for the blood time myth in wrestling 😂... Further, its worth noting that if from like CA or FL that our elevation is generally high but varies wildly among many relative peaks and valleys throughout neighborhoods so... Flash flood weather proofing and being at a peak is ideal but theres no inherent reason NOT to have a basement. I honestly imagine many if not most of few slab foundations were paranoid movers without geographical context. Last point: there’s a lot of gentrification of more affordable areas anyway. LRA if you have the skill set… but since it’s the Midwest, know that it’s weirder to not acknowledge people so if you’re in the choose to renovate or build in a more affordable area like North STL, if anyone seems to be staring, just give them a 👌🏽 and a smile to let em know you’re friendly and mean no harm. 😬😇 happy home hunting.
I would not move to the city of st Louis for anything
This is a super interesting topic, and an exciting development for STL. I'd be interested to see how the urban planners decided to create this space. I'm wondering if they've thought through how this is going to impact air quality, traffic congestion, and noise pollution. Seeing as Chesterfield is, in my opinion, devoid of a lot of unique culture (as is the rest of STL) it'd be cool to see how this transforms into an urban oasis. Excited to see more videos from you and your thoughts on STL.

It is a shitty, dirty and dangerous place. One of the highest criminal rates in all f usa. No doubt about it.
The biggest issue is the black population in St.Louis. They ruined the city. No one wants to talk about it. Everyone try’s to out virtue-signal each other by avoiding the discussion, but everyone knows it’s true. We need to openly talk about it way more. This is why people fled to the suburbs. There are a tiny amount of good schools in the city because blacks ruined them. It’s just true unfortunately.
It is red neck hell
So you touched on it but I want to get into a little more detail on it. The statistics about us being the most or one of the most dangerous cities in the country is not accurate and never has been. Yes the city has had it's fair share of problems and decline like any American city but we are not, nor have ever been the most dangerous city in America. That divide between the city and county skews the data far more than people realize. Please stop perpetuating these lies/misinformation. I know you're not trying to smear the city here but I think it's important that when we talk about the crime and problems we have here that we make sure to talk accurately about it and be sure to thoroughly explain why the data is misrepresentative of the truth. Multiple economic studies have found that this is literally hurting our region by discouraging people from moving to or investing here. Here's the truth and as a St. Louis area native and resident of downtown for the last 6 years I can confirm that our city is as safe as any other and there are plenty of wonderful things left. I can also confirm that we are beginning to turn it around and grow again. th-cam.com/video/PS4IxDP66xw/w-d-xo.html
Would you include Manchester, MO in this? Same zip code, 63021.
Good to know we have a few more years before traffic is completely untenable.
Haha fair
They shouldn’t have cars near pedestrians. Just have parking garages or garages connected to alleys for cars to go. I can’t relax with cars running about. Like you have to be hyper vigilant if you have a small child next to a road.
Visited several times and had a great time. Excellent restaurants, a great zoo, a good musical and theatrical scene. Was told the crime can be bad, but wasn't exposed to that.
I'm so glad you had a great experience here!!
I work remote for a major employer in STL and travel there a lot. My husband and I are looking to move from Texas to STL early next year. We are dead set on the CA. I will reach out to yall hopefully soon!
We'd love to help when you're ready! Is there anything we haven't covered in this video that would be helpful to know about LSL or the CA?
@ yes, fences! That is our biggest concern. We have two dogs. One of my coworkers mentioned that you can only have a fence if you have a pool
@@MDLazarus Yes, that is one of the most common concerns we hear! Only the immediate pool area & equipment can be fenced if you have a pool. You cannot have a fully fenced in backyard, BUT there is an allowance for a pet run where you can have up to 200 sq feet fenced in.
Interesting video. It took them long enough to figure out what to do with the mall. I worked one of the last days that sears was open, which was near labor day weekend in 2018. I remember talking to coworkers about the developer’s plans at the time to remodel the mall into some apartment complex/shop center combo. I also went to the skate park a few times while it was there. There was a way to get up to the then unused and empty second floor of sears, which was walled off from the main mall after sears closed. It was really eerie. I think the outlet malls are what killed the place. I’m also not sure why they’re wanting to build parks on the property when chesterfield park is right across the street?
Totally fair about the outlets killing it. I wasn't surprised when taubman prestige closed too since there were 2 outlet malls in the area which seemed like overkill. I don't think the parks on site are meant to compete with Central Park, but outdoor space is definitely a big focus of this development with 25% of the project focused on outdoor & public space
Laclede's Landing
I understand it's a promo video for realtors, but downtown St. Louis sucks nowadays, there is nothing up there. City can't fix crime issue, no much people on day time and neither late night. We have one Schnucks store in the middle of downtown, no interesting places for daily life. Anyone who consider moving to STL such suggest Mid Town, Mapplewood are Grove or South Grand :)
Valid points! Those are other great neighborhoods to consider!
St louis native for 25 years. Dont move here, this city is the slowest dying city in america in my opinion, many have tried to fix the infrastructure but at this point with the state of the economics and culture, its never going to happen. Its a wildly dangerous city even in the burbs and the "good parts" in the city are surrounded entirely by dilapidated neighborhoods that most developers know arent even worth gentrifying at this point. Love my city and wish we had govt power to enforce change but idk theres potholes older than me here so its not looking good.
❤ St. Charles!
Yes!! Our fave 🫶
Chesterfield is Metro St. Louis…do they think St. Peters and Arnold are also not part of the greater St. Louis area??
That’s a great question! Haha. It depends on who you’re asking. I think the confusion comes when everyone just says “St. Louis” but some people interpret that specifically as St. Louis City whereas others take it more broadly as the greater STL metro
For the love of God, don't do it.
How come?
@@LivingStLouis Highest murder per capita rate in the country for one. Dillapidated burned out city for two, and the weather is nasty.
needs wayyy more trees and maybe a fountain or 5. Saint Charles is meh to me because I lived in the city for so long but could use some green
Trees, parks, walking trails, and public outdoor spaces are already really big part of this development!
Ofcourse Chesterfield is St. Louis. For some reason, some city folks, like to say St. Louis County is not St. Louis.( Some kind of imaginary rivalry thing.)
Yes you’re right it definitely goes to show the City vs County rivalry!!
@@LivingStLouis ....and I dont mean to offend anyone, but its silly. St. Louis City and St. Louis County are both St. Louis.
I agree haha
LOL, thanks for admitting the confusion, its not just a me thing.
Happens to me almost every time! Haha
I didn't know there were so many strip malls in Chesterfield!🌷🍁
Oh yes haha! There’s quite a few
Single family homes too!?! I can’t imagine there’s enough space to fit very many, right? Appreciate the video and your thoughts! ❤️
They might be more condensed on smaller lots similar to the ones in Wildhorse Village!
@ thank you! ❤️
Very exciting development. I like they're not afraid to think big while still taking care of the details in the project. This kind of approach will pay dividends for the future of a community.
I agree!
This sounds awesome! Feels like the next downtown Clayton! But 20yo collage grads affording to live in Chesterfield? Not a chance haha
This sounds awesome! Feels like the next downtown Clayton! But 20yo collage grads affording to live in Chesterfield? Not a chance haha
Union Loafers… makes great pizza!…and Bagels..
Yes it's so good!
This is awesome, and I can only hope that this new residential area won't be super expensive!
Agreed!
considering it is in chesterfield and will be a "live, shop, work" area, it will probably be similar to the cost of a luxury apartment close by.
4:30 at least one grocery store should be built along with the residential to reduce the need or desire to buy multiple automobiles
The area should get a tiny home community going. Not a trailer park. But established cannot move tiny homes!
That would be cool!!
I live for the day that I run into jacob at Just Johns
It’ll happen sometime soon
Those homes are not timeless. No thanks
That’s definitely one take!
We moved to the Grove (FPSE) from out of state just a few months ago. Overall we are super happy with our decision. We are in a townhouse that is incredible inside and out. Rents are pretty high for the area but cheap compared to where we moved from.. This is probably the best place you can live if you are working at BJC hospital. The amount of reno and new construction going on is really wild with a handful of lots and rubbish houses still remaining that I hope are redeveloped soon.
I'm so so glad to hear you're liking it!! It's definitely a great spot for getting to BJC especially with how new a lot of the apartments & townhomes are it gives you some really great options
It's a racist city too
I have not considered The Grove but looking on a real-estate site it seems nice. I love how you show St. Louis in a very St. Louisy way. You dont hype up the city you just show and tell about it. Keep up the good content. I will definitely be looking to work with you if life brings me back to the area.
Thank you for watching! I try my best to tell it how it is without sugarcoating things. Here's what you might like and what you might not like. I appreciate your feedback :)
Tx Torontonian here. Appreciate a review of what appears to be a kool place to visit on a future getaway.
Definitely a place you may want to add to your list!! :)
Our little piece of heaven ...lol
Hahah yes!
