Be wary of the auto renewal. I thought I purchased one month. Three months later I was charged $42.70 for 3 months. They will not refund. As for the content, meh.
No useful info on whether natural language input lets me enter info like “dentist 12 pm tomorrow” and have it fill in the info for me? That’s what I want and need, but I’m tired of fantastical after so many years.
Thank you! I’m trying to get off my dependence on my phone and Big Tech, so I won’t subscribe 😢 but I’m really grateful for this succinct review, based on which I’ll go ahead and buy Forest, because I think it’ll help my mad ADHD brain 😅 Thank you so much for your trouble in making this video for us 🥰
My calendar keeps changing the date back to 1st month plus I change the colour and with a few seconds changes back to default colour. And ideas why. I save it every edit
Looks like a decent solution for newbies getting started with GTD, but I see at least a couple of deal-breakers for more established GTD practitioners, especially typical professional business users: A) no integrated, robust calendar, with day, week and month views; it may integrate/sync with calendar apps like Outlook or google calendar, but to me that's cumbersome and convoluted. B) No "Contacts" feature (electronic Rolodex); contacts can have a major relationship to tasks, projects and appointments; even if one could use a tool like Zapier to integrate contacts in Outlook, Act!, etc, that would again be cumbersome and convoluted. If Nirvana could add these two modules, they'd have a game-changer that could be at the top of the GTD tool space.
Ohhhhh my god I felt every word you said about having a startup and doing so many smaller things that scheduling every single one is no longer sustainable. I feel...seen 😂. I was starting to think that something was wrong with me until I just grabbed a piece of paper and used that as my to-do, which is basically what this app is. I don't know if I am going to use the app you review here, I'm happy with my piece of paper after trying so many to-do apps, but your words gave me such a relief. I feel is the first time I hear someone from the productivity field say something like this. Thank you😂
This is why a lot of people just moved of to making tasks lists into Obsidian and nothing else.
The price is insane. Wouldn't these start up developers make more money and get a larger user base by reasonably pricing the app?
nailed it 💅
Seems like an expensive not so good version of Todoist. I can add a task to Todoist via voice on my phone and make it repeat - for example tell it to put the brown bin out every other Thursday starting this week. They need to do a lot of work on this to be worth the same as ChatGPT.
Old school question. Does it have some kind of task lists. Thanks.
It literally shows a task list in this entire video
@ How astute. Maybe I should have been a little more clear. Most task managers allow for multiple task lists so that you can dump your various tasks under various user created categories. That’s what I was asking about.
I stopped watching after the price
The best app no doubt. If you are looking for a GTD App. You definitely should download it
One of the best GTD APP out there.
Hello @Fransesco, thank you for the (liked) video. Could you please help : I have been usine Onenote for a long time, and tried Obsidian (still not sure about it). Which too would you recommend? Thank you.
he won't answer
I want to try to use it for my phone. I don't see anything at the bottom to indicate that I want to use help me write. I see it on my computer but not my phone in my Gmail.
How does Todolist compare against Microsoft To Do?
I’m a software engineer and it seems a bad fit for me. I have maybe 2 hours of meetings a week and the rest of the time I’m working through GitHub issues that take a day or more. I guess I should either break them up in smaller chunks of an hour or so or have Notion break them down for me but I guess my flow works for me so I won’t change it
I cannot wait for the new podcast you discussed. The subject is so interesting and I cannot think of a better person to lead the way into this new era that we are entering.
The longer you go the better the tree ?
Zinnia is amazing, and totally worth the price imo. (annual subscription comes out to less than $4/month)
Evernote is an outdated irrelevant and overpriced app in 2025.
Shady Billing Practices and Low-Quality Content - Avoid Headway! I’m extremely disappointed with Headway. At first, the app seemed promising, but their business practices are downright sketchy. They use deceptive dark patterns to sneak in extra charges beyond the subscription fee, and NONE of it is refundable. On top of that, the book summaries are not great. Customer support was unhelpful and just pointed to their terms and conditions rather than resolving issues. This feels like a cash grab, not a service that values its users. Stay away unless you’re okay with surprise charges, low-quality content, and zero accountability!
You repeated your point too many times. More complex than todoist less complex than clickup
Thanks🤙
I am really impressed with what evernote has done. I appreciate. I dont think they have kept the old Evernote smell. You can feel it's updated. I too have faith that it gonna get much better this year
When they decided to make the free version completely unusable by having stupid ads for the premium pop up to the point I can't even open a note. It was a big F-ck you to them for me
Evernote is doing a great job IMO, I don't think they are behind, I think they are travelling on their own path. Banging AI into things for the sake of it is not what they are doing which is the right choice, the AI they've implemented is useful and on-point. With some refinements to the tasks and calendar they'll have an awesome tool set that does it all in one place - I see task managers like Todoist / Ticktick etc being the ones that need to pivot....and fast or they will become pretty much redundant. Evernote is now a one stop shop for productivity (almost).
There is literally no tool that does what Evernote does with notes, calendar, and tasks as clean and uncomplicated. I doubt the reviewer has used all the other tools long enough to realize how good this combination is
In which areas do they lack by 4 to 5 years
Relative to its competitors Evernote was not doing well prior to Bending Spoons taking over.
Agree about the AI stuff but disagree that it's like it was in 2019. I think it's much further ahead than that. I left in 2017 so not really a huge fan of old skool legacy Evernote. Came back when version 10 launched!
Loving, structured daily planner app with its Pomo Dora Lake sound vibe. The sound pro task is amazing for multiple blocks for one task or a theme for the day was multiple blocks, including in it notes and sub tasks for some reason it gives me just enough to turn a task into a project and it doesn’t feel overwhelming not really sure why this is at this point, but it will be interesting to see what health tracking and other updates Structured has in store this year, especially when it comes to energy tracking and any more sound capabilities. It’s extremely artful and seems to easily adapt to life that is nonlinear.
I switched to exactly the same process as you after watching a video of Leo babauta about task management. When you think about it, it’s not strange at all to be more productive using a note because you focus more on the task itself than the tool. Using Todoist or other similar apps, you have a natural tendency to fidgeting and tinkering on the app itself and not the tasks. With a plain old white note, you are forced to think which is way more powerful.
a well crafted video 😁
I think the Journal feature in Logseq might work out for your type of workflow.
Is Craft becoming more like Amplenote and does it need to get better with calendar and timeblocking? What if Todoist adds a document feature? Will these apps also need more and more project management features like Asana to keep market share? Is Evernote also going in this direction?
I think there is something magical when notes, tasks and even calendar has a way to get it in one place. I have been Bullet Journaling for about 5 years now, and I think the reason why it works for me is that it works as a commonplace notebook
I have recently moved everything to notion. Adopting the same principle you have in this video. Todo list apps are ok if you have a simple life. As soon as you start to add in multiple businesses, projects, meetings etc.. it becomes a full time task just managing tasks.
zzzzzzzzzzz
Moving away from Todoist will be the biggest mistake of your life. Good luck
This is aggressive 😅
Such serendipity…as I found myself actually putting very work-related tasks into Craft today. I’ve loved the app for a while after moving from Evernote. I did try Notion and actually just tried Notion again, but remembered all the reasons it didn’t work out for me. It’s great, but not for me. And my task managers have been primarily Things3 and Todoist recently for managing billing (because of the calendar feature). But what I have loved about Craft is the visual and ease of using it. And for some reason, just this evening, I found myself with a load of tasks just happening in my day that needed more information and thought and instead of logging them in Things…I went to Craft. And it’s just that feature of being able to open them up as a page and write more notes, import documents, etc that was so great. I even went as far as using emojis in the description to tell me whether it was completed, in process, forwarded or just incoming (until Craft develops their tasks status more, which I hope they will). Anyway, just my thoughts about it and I found your video about it just pleasing to know someone else out there is thinking about developing task management in Craft like myself. Fun!
I do something similar with obsidian and a daily note, but its for like study session specific stuff. Anything i do which is actually important is in todoist like i have a house inspection next thursday etc. I haven't really found anything better thats also cross device plus the free plan is all i need so its free
in brief to answer you, Nope, not the goodbye time, not even to think about it
Quite sad, what is the sense of using a coffee brewer to make a cake. Craft is not meant to replace a to do application.
In many parts of the world, the cost of a MacBook-or even an iMac -can be prohibitively high, making them less accessible to the average consumer. Apps that are exclusive to Apple devices, like Things 3 and Craft, feel somewhat lacking in personality and fail to provide a compelling reason to choose them over alternatives. Additionally, the subscription model for simple apps, such as a To-Do list, seems unnecessary for most people, unless you're in a high-level executive position. The limitation of only 5 projects in Todoist’s free version is frustrating and feels restrictive. For my needs, the combination of Google Tasks, Calendar, and Keep is more than sufficient. It's simple, effective, and free from distractions-just the essentials for staying organized.
I like Craft a lot as an app but they collect a ton of data and their privacy practices make them not really a viable choice in my opinion
I got a refund from them and have switched because privacy concerned me
The blank canvas helps. I think having worked the simple "just write a task" mentality, you notice, "oh maybe I want to write how I got here, or what I'm thinking". While ToDoist has the note within the task, its just not built for that kind of thing. Workflowy helped me realized this, but now I'm migrating to Capacities as it's options really help the connectedness. Tough to move stuff over though.
is this is possible for windows
This reminds me of the recent movement about going back to Apple Notes for so many people. It looks like traditional task managers aren't good enough to adapt to dynamic work that most of us have been doing these days (i.e., things change, but in the task manager there should be multiple adjustments needed - say re-scheduling, changing priorities, even filters and tags and views and all the bells and whistles need to be adjusted if something becomes less important and something else becomes super important). A basic note list is perfect for this.
I've never gotten along with traditional to do apps. I find the lists just grow to the point where it becomes sort of meaningless. I have found that Reflect is a nice place for me to put my tasks. I enter them in my daily note when they pop up, then move them to the day I need to do them. This way there isn't one long list that seems insurmountable. I've been impressed with Craft's task management addition, though I think Reflect still works best for my needs.
lol just stop adding tasks just for the sake of it. I have three tasks today in my todoist
