Hey Nick, Could you or one of your guys do a video on installing steel tracks?
Does it take def
This unit does not use a DEF system
What’s the difference between the Zh and Bh
The enclosed cab BH is 1100lbs heavier and an overall better built machine machine and cab setup. The ZH40 is worth considering if your looking for an open cab machine that size.
How do you adjust the drive tracks hydrolics so they move at the same speed. Mine are way off. Would love a how to video pls
The functions can be adjusted at the valve body, we may make a video on that soon
Great vid fella.
How will Trump's tariffs affect Groundhog Equipment?
We'll either find a way to make it work with our partners or we'll shift some aspects of production domestically
How do you get the grease out of the grease tensioner? Do you check the track with it in the air or can I check while the track is on the ground?
We prefer in the air. Use a wrench to loosen the bleeder valve or fitting slightly. Be careful not to remove it entirely, as grease may shoot out under pressure. As you loosen the valve, grease will start to come out slowly. To speed up the process, gently push the front idler inward using a pry bar (make sure the machine is safely supported if it's off the ground). Let the grease bleed out until the track tension is reduced to your desired level. Once you've released enough grease, tighten the valve securely to prevent leaks and clean any excess grease from the area.
As a mechanic for 50 years you got me sold on your product. I want to buy a little quality when I do buy one. I like your detailed video .I once ordered a well submersible pump 460 3 phase motor. both units weigh like 200 pounds each. Customs called me and ask what they were, So I explained to them in detail. and told them how they work. and they let it in from the Canadian side. They had no clue what they were or how they worked. But were smart enough to make a simple phone call. Those pumps were like 300 rated gallons per minute outflow. Most people will never see those types of pumps.
Hello. could you give me the spring dimensions? (length, thickness and diameter of the spring) I'm making a track drive, but I don't know what kind of spring it should be. thank you
What model are you looking for the dimensions on?
For this white one on the video. I have rubber track 200x72x44. Thank you.
Thanks
Yeah and it costs twice as much so whats the point
You won't have to wait days for a response from another country, We'll answer the phone with US based customer support and service. Our network of dealers helps justify the price point for most customers.
Nick I love watching these videos. It’s really great to have the business owner explain specs and teach usage himself rather than a salesman. Thank you!
Why do you put the tracks on the joystick and not the thumb(aux) that seems way more important to have on the joy stick. Also you really need to set these up the a main pin thumb its way better.
Is the expandable drive an Eton drive?
That's not an Eaton drive on that model
Where do you get parts for them
Any Groundhog dealer would be able to supply parts or perform service work
Hi, would like to see a little test video on this machine
My issuse is the tracks keep coming off on both of mine. Tried various tensions.
Can you bring it into one of our dealers to take a look at the track tensioning system?
I seriously can’t wait to be apart of the groundhog family. Got my feet dirty with the Agt h 15 decided I need an upgrade. Can’t wait. -Frankie.
this is Frankie on a different account, i was wondering do you guys have most parts available if they break?
i have that exact jackhammer and a rhinoceros 1 ton excavator but it wont work. how much pressure do the auxillary of the excavator need to run it ?
They run on our ZH12G's that only have 4.7gpm to the thumb lines you'd hook it up to on that machine.
@@groundhogequipment whats the thumb lines working pressure on the ZH12G
Fantastic tips. Thank you for sharing, I’m sure this will help a lot of people if they are lucky enough to see it before picking up a machine.
Thank you for the informative video.. i have been looking for something for my property for a while.. i found your videos about 2 months ago and love what your doing.. when the time comes, ill be getting a groundhog.. thank you
Thank you!
Are those 1 1/2” or 2” pipes? I have the same track, took the zerk off and compressed the idler to push the grease out. The back track slips off every single time I almost get the front on. 2 days and tried everything. Put it on the ground and tried walking it back on with a crow bar. Tried putting it in the idler and using the pipes to get it on the back sprocket. Nothing worked. Seems like a god awful and flawed design
Music is too damn loud jiminey crickets
Where are these ground hogs made?
We work with manufacturers in China to engineer our line of equipment, most of the assembly is then done in Middleburg, PA then distributed to our dealers.
How can I become a dealer in Covington Va
Fill out the form at the bottom of this page and we'll get ahold of you within two business days groundhogequipment.com/dealers/
All your R&d is being used against you. You might work directly with them but they don’t work directly with you unfortunately
We have a close and productive partnership with our manufactures.
Music doesnt mesh well with the video
How’s the longevity for these Chinese engineered units + kubota engines?
They are very durable machines, We have some machines going on 4 years of use.
Look all you dart throwers. I think the guy is being real and honest. If you don't like his product go buy what you have the money to buy
So I’m in the market for an excavator about this size. I’ve narrowed it down to either a Bobcat E35, this machine or Kymron’s XH42 equivalent. It looks like the same basic machine as this. There’s things I like about this better. It seems like you do a better job with hose management on the dipper stick. They aren’t popping out everywhere like the Kymron. The other thing you do better is you offer a pattern Control selector and I’m a backhoe guy. There’s really 3 things I’d have to address either from the dealer or me fixing myself. I just don’t know if it’s possible. 1) The main thing is I need a thumb that hinges with the bucket because I’m gonna be picking up lots of brush. And I need a beefier thumb on par with the name brand machines. While I appreciate that these come with thumbs, I’m gonna be really using mine so something made out of 3/4 inch or 1 inch steel is a must. Do you plan on working to get a better quality thumb maybe as an upgrade? Possibly a thumb control on a joystick switch instead of a floor pedal? If not, what do you think about someone fabbing their own beefy thumb? I’m a welder so I can build one but what about getting longer pins to run through the same pivot as the bucket? Are they standard size pins that I can maybe get at a name brand dealer? 2) Do you think if I were to install an aftermarket suspension seat, if that would raise the seat hight up too much? I’m 5’ 10”. I realize you offer the SH36 with this feature but I need to keep my cab height no taller than 8’ 3”. 3) Third is, does this model have a cup holder anywhere? Such a simple question but Kymron won’t even give me an honest yes or no answer. And if “no”, do you see a place anywhere in this cab where I can mount a simple screw down cup holder? I can’t drive to see this machine so I have to rely on dealer info and every video I see seems to show as little can footage as possible. If not, I’m kinda forced to go with a Bobcat, Sany, Kubota, Case. Any name brand that I can go in and see. At this price I’m not expecting it to be on that level. But I’d like to know I can upgrade that stuff myself with a little work. Especially since I have the ability to weld and fabricate. I’m not great with electrical stuff so Im not sure if adding a thumb switch on a joystick is gonna be possible.
Thanks for reaching out! We do offer a beefy thumb bucket, We are working to offer more thumb options for our machines but nothing else yet. You can fabricate something fairly easy, while the pins are not widely available but can be purchased through us or online. We can do joystick thumb controls. If you were to install a higher seat you'd have about 6-10 inches of room to work with. It does not have a cup holder but I recommend a suction mounted cupholder.
@@groundhogequipment Hey, thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. That’s a huge factor for me. So just to make sure, if I wanted to order a pin that’s longer in length than what’s standard, you’d be able to do that? If so, that’s great. I’d just use the thumb that comes with the machine while I fabricate a new thumb that hinges to the bucket pin. Then just slide that longer pin in to accommodate the wider thumb.
We can make almost any pin you'd need
So which is it starter or switch? If you can start it with push button.
The ignition switch would be the problem in that case
Whats the total lift weight?
safe operating load is 700lbs while tipping load is 1200lbs
@@groundhogequipment are these specs listed on your website? I am wondering about the 20 series as well.
Not all safe operating loads are listed, the 20's are around 900lb safe operating load
@@groundhogequipment thanks for getting back to me!
I'm absolutely amazed that people are paying this kind of money for chinese crap. With only a 1 year warranty. And you get the privilege of changing the parts out yourself. I guess the old addage of a sucker is born everyday is still alive and well.
We don't think of it that way. We work with our partners to bring a stronger machine to the US market with a warranty, US based support and we keep almost all parts in stock. We're also here to support the chinese excavators owners as well with parts, attachments, and service.
what is the gas?
Nitrogen
Lots of great features.
On your larger BH40D machine does the blade have "Float" function for back dragging? Thank you
It doesn't have a float function, the zh70d does have that option
@@groundhogequipment Thank you
Nice machine and i understand the need for a quiet machine with no exhaust that being said id be very leery about that bomb they call a lithium battery theyre selling the whole machine for half what the battery costs in a name brand digger how about one that runs off 220 that can be plugged in with a long chord instead
Thanks for all your videos! This looks like an awesome machine. Thanks for your staff too. Over the past few days i have shared emails and talked on the phone to Clint, Diana, Tasha and Maddy. All of your staff has been extremely responsive, informative, courteous and above all patient. All this combined gives me a lot of confidence I am dealing with the best company. I am very particular in choosing a company to business with. For anyone considering doing the same I personally, highly recommend the folks at Groundhog Equipment LLC.
Whats the best machine for the money if you could only have one. All around best size power etc.
The KH25D at $23,900 comes fully loaded, If your ok with a standard machine the ZH24D-2 would be a great option.
That’s the same charger I charge my house with on overcast weeks. Can you specify what lithium technology is used in the batteries? Lithium ion is now a pretty vague term.
Lithium Iron Phosphate Single Cell, Rated Voltage 3.2V, Rated Capacity 100Ah, Standard Continuous Current 90A
Can you charge at 240vac or higher voltage? Is there any intermediate or long term feedback from users?
240 and under only for charging. No long term feedback yet. We've made some adjustments since the first run to improve the overall mobility
I would like to see some of these machines work on a slope. Mine will run down a slope quickly if you’re not careful.
If they didn't upgrade the chassis, a high torque electric motor will just tear up your excavator that much faster.
The chassis is reinforced on the electric units
How long does it take to fully charge the battery? And how many hours of work is it capable of doing on a full charge?
6 to 8 hours of work 8 to 10 charging
6 hours working, 8-10 hours running, and 8- 10 charging
Do you have a dealer in Washington State?
We don't currently, the closest would be our dealer in Wisconsin.
Your transparency and honesty as a businessman has made it a no brainer to do business with you.
Making a machine for him is some serious big brother shit! ❤ Touching video with an Awesome Machine. Well done.
Dude. These New Machines look way sicker than the Big Name Excavators with the big name Engines. Killer Branding and obviously the factory is getting their shit together. And literally Half the price. No Brainer.
Dam good salesman and thoroughly explains what I wanted to hear. Terminology and painted the picture for us. Looking into these machines now.
Are the drive motors 310? Is the swivel motor a 250 or 315?
I still like the orange the best
