Cleaning the Throttle Body on a 2010 Pontiac Vibe
มุมมอง 28711 หลายเดือนก่อน
I noticed a sudden change in my vehicles ignition and performance. When starting the engine I found that it was revving higher than normal and took a couple minutes to settle, at which point the engine would stutter and sound like it was going to stall or die. I also found the car to be using more fuel and having to give more gas than usual to accelerate and maintain that speed. I found minor i...

มุมมอง 55ปีที่แล้ว
After spotting this gem at a garage sale I was so excited...sadly the heavy staining was a major disappointment. This lead me to the message boards and found that many claim to have success removing staining by using Hydrogen Peroxide. The results were great. The staining had disappeared. you will need: - A clear container (I used a take out container) - Hydrogen Peroxide 3% ( can be purchased ...

2010 Pontiac Vibe/Toyota Matrix VSC off, traction control and check engine light
มุมมอง 23K2 ปีที่แล้ว
This morning when i started my car I saw that these three icon were illuminated in orange. After a quick check online i could see that many Toyota matrix and Pontiac vibe owners have experienced this behaviour. The most common reasons seems to be related to the Gas cap and wheel sensors. My situation was the gas cap. In some circumstances the car may still have the three orange indicators on. i...

If anyone frequently drives through mud or snow, here is how to disable traction and stability control on the Vibe. To disable only traction control, look for the button on the lower instrument panel, with the car and wavy lines. Press and release to turn off traction control. Hold for 5 seconds to turn off traction AND stability control. Both the traction light and VSC light should illuminate. Systems will reactivate when the car is turned off and restarted.

After changing the gas cap, my mechanic told me to safely ignore a warning that was build in to satisfy the EPA and no one else.

I’m a jet engine mechanic. Had this same problem. I do most of my own maintenance and was able to solve this problem with the help of my code reader. After replacing all 4 struts I took the Vibe to my mechanic for a wheel alignment and told him about the VSC lights coming on at the same time as the evap codes I was getting. He told me that Toyota’s VSC lights will come on when the car is experiencing just about any other problem. Even though I knew better I was still topping the fuel tank off after the pump automatically shut off. Luckily either my charcoal canister dried itself out or the new gas cap did the trick. I no longer top off my tank…lesson learned!

What size did you use for the PCB bolts? I tried the smallest two I had: 4mm and 5/32" and both were too large.

It can also be wheel sensor, MAF sensor, or either up or downstream 02 sensors as well. Maybe more. A code reader can be helpful in diagnosing this.

interesting. I was thinking of popping the tuner knob and swapping with the broken radio power button knob. I may do that and still fix the broken one and put it on the tuner side.

I think will be good to put a little epoxy inside the new bottom to prevent cracking in the future.
