Yikes, this album is atrocious! Good Vibrations is an excellent song: A 9 or a 10. Heroes and Villains isn't as strong, and I'd give it a 5 out of 10. The rest? Yes it's that bad. As you stated, who would desire to listen to She's Becoming Bald or Vegetables after they already heard them once ? A major problem is that most of the "songs" on the album are really not songs at all. They are song fragments. As I've stated before: One way to describe this record is that it's a rejected third rate soundtrack for The Wizard of Oz. One can label it Avantgardism or Dadaism, but this still doesn't negate the idea that it sucks.

I agree with you that Anderson .Paak is still totally underrated. I see so many talentless people like Ice Spice in the top 10. Thank goodness he got some recognition as Silk Soinic so he could do this magnificent follow-up to Yes, Lawd. I've been impressed with him since Dr. Dre's Compton album. You just can't figure out the music industry these days.

Sloop John B is the worst song you’ve heard so far is wild!

The idea for this album was basically capturing a journey across America and capturing childhood joy. These sessions were also recorded right after the single Good Vibrations which was a huge hit and revolutionary in that it was spliced together with snippets of different musical pieces and ideas and this album was supposed to utilize that same concept. Also I'll go to my grave praising Surf's Up as one of the greatest compositions ever written and recorded

Session musician Hal Blaine on drums! I'm surprised God Only Knows didn't hit you as hard but I love your honest reactions and glad you loved the album! It's an incredible album, still resonates today and changed pop music production and even lyricism

Just heard the whole album for the first time and this was the only review i could find. I thought it was a pretty good album, a little bloated but i definitely enjoyed alot of tracks
