thank you for taking my recommendation :D higurashi is a 8 part visual novel series, and it's my favourite story of all time, it's a mystery visual novel with some horror elements, it's also a very sad story, and yet it's very beautiful and uplifting at the same time, the series consists of 4 question arcs, which serve as the foundation of all the questions in the story, and 4 answer arcs, which serve to answer these questions in a narrative way, higurashi is a very emotional story, the most emotional story I've ever seen, and I'm not ashamed to admit that i cried reading it more than i did for the past 10 years, it's the kind of story you only get to experience once, and it's one of the only stories i can't pick flaws with, and even if there were some flaws, the positives far overpower them, and speaking of the track "you" listened to (pun intended), it's indeed the main motif, it's used in many other tracks, and it also has its own vocal version, the track gives that feel that life goes on, even with all the sad stuff that happens, there will always be hope, there are always good things to look forward to in life despite everything, which is why the song has this sad melancholic yet almost hopeful tone to it, that's just life, with all its difficulties, there's always beauty in it man i yapped for too long there, thanks again for reacting to this, i hope you one day get to experience higurashi yourself, it's the kind of story a lot of people need in their life

First time i played this game was back in 1990 on the TurboGrafx-CD console, in fact i bought the console because of this game. Going from the original NES to a game with animated cutscenes, voice acting (this version lacks the VA tho), and Redbook CD quality music was like going from a skateboard to a formula one race car.

I really feel like I played a demo of Folklore or maybe I rented it for a short time, either way I remember playing this a bit. I don't really remember much about it beyond that except I thought it was a fun idea.

God Eater failed for me because it was so repetitive having to go to the same places over and over and over and over and over just to hopefully get the items you need to upgrade your stuff so you can do the same thing over and over and over and over, time and time again. That's in addition to being forced to go back to the 'hub' area after every mission and to leave you have to select a mission. It's BORING and ANNOYING! I haven't played much Monster Hunter (I think I tried MH:World for a couple hours but didn't really get into it), but if that's what MH is you might like GE. I got around all that crap by...cheating, yup, screw that junk, I just gave myself unlimited items so I only had to collect each one once. The story isn't bad by any means. What I enjoyed about God Eater was the characters which ranged from 'okay' to 'pretty fucking good' with a few 'fuck that I hate you', oh yeah and the best part....it shares a world with Code Vein and uh..yeah, that's basically it. And yes, I have played all 3 GE games. If I disliked them so much why did I buy and play all 3? Cuz I kept hoping they'd get better. I saw potential in the 1st and 2nd games, but after the 3rd..well, I'll probably never touch another GE game unless it directly interacts with Code Vein.

If they really are working on a new Sakura Wars, it NEEDS to be an SRPG, faithful to the series.

Sakura Wars has been on my radar for a while, but I'm waiting for all of the earlier games to get fan-translations before I start.

Sakura wasr would be really really popular if it was fully released on pc,buut,we have what we have. Radkata stories was good but ending was really shitty, one of actual few jrpg i HATED,second is blue reflection.

....I know this is based off each person's opinions but I gotta say most of the statements about Tales of the Abyss just seems...wrong. Mainly cause when it comes to Tales games it's generally placed around 1st to at lowest 5th place in almost every list I've seen (I put it at 3rd after Symphonia at 1st, Berseria 2nd) for both hardcore Tales fans and other jrpg players...for mainstream gaming in general I guess they likely don't hear about it much at all as that crowd doesn't really play/bring up anime style jrpgs much at all so at best they may have heard of Symphonia, Vesperia, or Arise (this last one due to recency, winning jrpg of 2021, and the game's graphics being close to modern gen unlike the past games for their release time frame when comparing to the 'best' graphics of their era). Other Tales games like Hearts R, Legendia, and Graces F feel more like they'd fall into 'underrated' more so than Abyss tbh even within the Tales fan base (Hearts R would probably be my Tales pick as while the story isn't great it's still solid, the combat is tied with Xillia 2 as the best in the series imo, the side content was great, it had easily the best ally AI and AI management system in the series (Arise is the worst due to the management being party based and that's the biggest issue with that game) and the characters solid...only real issues it had were being Vita only thus it had limited distribution and the translation sucked/was half assed and obviously completely AI generated before AI generated became even remotely competent). I also feel games like Rogue Galaxy, Infinite Undiscovery, and Lunar Silver Star Harmony would be better off instead of a Tales game on this list if I'm being honest same with a couple other games here to get all 3 of these on it as they're all great games but I can definitely tell you they don't get mentioned nearly as much as they should (granted infinite Undiscovery may be a controversial pick though...I liked it a lot though, the other 2 though definitely fit this list better than any Tales games which would likely fall more into more well known than overrated as a series as a whole).

I've already played through it and I can say the hate for act 3 is greatly over blown this arc is more character focused the main plot kinda takes a back seat while setting up more that will cross into the main story

as someone who has been playing thru the series from FC, i def think the payoff for starting from the beginning is immense and theyre all great games, but also its a lot of games lol

I have seen "underrated rpg" videos to the point that I have seen most of the games on the list. Still, the only game I have played is God Eater.

Stella glow on 3ds is a great gem I wish would get ported to the switch so everybody can experience and enjoy it
