    The centre has its own PUBLUC LIABILITY INSURANCE issues to folliw . The first aiders should stand at a respectful distance BUT just as THEY aren't allowed to ban real assistance dogs YOU as the owner of one CANNOT ignore or ecpect them to ignore THEIR insurance protocols! The obvious solution is for ALL assistance dogs to be trained within a properly organised and recognised institution akin to how guide dogs are trained. Tfey could then be 'licensed' avoiding situations like this.

    yeah so as someone who works in fast food because of health and safety whenever we see an animal in our restaurant WE HAVE TO ASK despite some people finding it rude due to medical privacy. If we dont ask and then it turns out that the dog wasnt a service animal (i say dog because that's most common but this goes for any service animal whether its a dog cat or a monkey yes really) and the Health inspector walks in we could get shut down. Now Im Canadian so most people are fine with me asking but I have had to ask a few customers to leave because their dog thats small and in their arms isnt a service animal. TBH if it were up to me I'd be fine with it esp if they're just grabbing something quick and leaving but health and safety disagrees. As a fast food worker here's what we're allowed to ask "excuse ma'am/miss/sir is your animal a service animal? I ask because of health and safety regulations." If they say yes then we leave it at that. What we are NOT ALLOWED TO DO IS ask "Oh if they're a service animal why aren't they wearing a vest?" or "Do u have proof of that/what is the animal for?" So yes we literally have to trust that people arent lying. However there actually IS a way to tell if the animal is a service animal. How do u do that? How does the ANIMAL REACT TO U? True service animals typically wont even react to your presence such as lunging or growling or barking as they're trained not to do these things. SO if the dog is lunging and barking and the owner says "they're in traingin" I say "no they're not because the first thing SDs are trained to do day 1 is to not lunge"

    She's right. The law that protects businesses is if the dog is out of control, you can be asked to leave. But you can't set your rules contrary to the law. This is why I have NO public life any more, because of this trash! She has the legal right to not use a leash when it interferes with the task. And when my dog is working with me, all I need is to be able to work with her unimpeded. No first aid required. She has been trained in ways people haven't. Interference just makes it worse. If we need further help, we'll let you know. Otherwise, BACK OFF!!! 😡😡😡

    It’s disgusting that people can’t live with in the law, and not be harassed for doing so There’s so many people breaking the law- any law every day that they don’t bother to chase up. They pick on the once they think are week and get them the quickest results.

    Assistant Dog Baily I BELIEVE DOGS SHOULD ALWAYS BE ON THE LEASH! IT IS FOR THE SAFTY OF OTHER DOGS, CHILDREN, AND SENIORS BEING ATTACTED; OR BITTEN! IF THE DOG NEEDS TO FIND SOMEONE YOU CAN LET GO OF THE LEAD, AND TO FIND THE PERSON! THIS IS SUCH A DISTRACTION I. STORES PEOPLE WILL NOT GO SHOP, BUT KEEP GOING! ESPECIALLY IF THEY SEE A DOG OFF LEASH! ALL THESE DOGS ON THE FLOOR IN THE MIDDLE OF THE MALL, OR STORE! THIS IS TOTALLY RIDICULOUS!! THEY PLAY THE SERVICE DOG CARD JUST TO BRING THEIR DOG! IF YOU DON'T WANT FIRST AID THEN GO HOME INSTEAD OF SITTING ON THE FLOOR IN THE MALL, OR STORE!

    • @assistancedogchico8617
      @assistancedogchico8617 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you aware of the fact that assistance dogs are highly trained animals? Assistance dogs absolutely do not bite and if they ever do, they are removed from work permanently. There are certain things that some assistance dogs do that may require them to be off leash, such as a crowd control task. If someone faints or has an episode they can’t necessarily just let go of the dogs leash, it’s not as simple as that. It’s also very very uncommon for people to work an assistance dog off leash anyway. Under the law, they MUST be under control at all times, and if they’re not, then businesses may remove them. I’m happy to give you more information on the matter if you wish.

    • @assistancedogchico8617
      @assistancedogchico8617 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also the ableism isn’t welcome here either, disabled people are entitled to be able to shop and have their assistance or guide dog do their job without being harassed by workers and forced to have first aid intervene and waste time when they’re not needed. You can very clearly see that the dogs are out of the way, and we are sat way out of the way of the main walking area - plus, this was filmed during covid, why would anyone feel the need to come near us? Just because we’re disabled and have struggles out in public, doesn’t mean that we should just stay home, that’s absolutely disgusting. Please politely educate yourself on the laws, people with disabilities and how assistance dogs work, and take your ableism and leave, thank you.

    There are blatant ones that are fake, but not everyone has the same needs. My muscles wasted away 5 years ago and I still today can barely walk, so she has been trained off the lead and I avoided people at all cost. I never socialized.. Mine has been trained to everything perfectly except for breaking her of her social side. She does not wear anything saying for her to be left alone. People see a husky around here and go nuts. It has forced me to be more sociable, confident and cope in situations with more that just 1 - 1. She will not charge off, but if there are people gesturing or calling to her, she looks at me and I say "go on then" and she goes. The moment I say "Ashe, here" she comes straight back to heel.
