    Its funny, the very first thing I thought of when I saw what today's video was about, I thought about Andy telling Opie and his friends ghost stories when they went camping in the mountains on The Andy Griffith Show. The stories scared Barney and Gomer more than they did the boys. LOL The Haint Blue is new to me, good thing to know and understand now when you see the blue ceilings and porches. Cool fact Michael! The Kentucky Goblin stories reminded me of the old Twilight Zone episode about the Goblin that attempted to crash the airplane. William Shatner was the guest star, and they re-did the episode in the movie years later. They had the same "look". My grandparents never really talked about ghost stories from their time living down there. They weren't the kind of people that believed or talked about "such things" my Grandmother would say. LOL Enjoyed this one Michael!

    Watching this one a little at a time, kinda busy up here. LOL Love the Team Name by the way, don't think I said that last week. I guess I would be Old Boomer, but really Gen X Like my wife right??? 1. 10 Surprised you haven't seen that movie Julie, as Heath is the star. 🤭 2. 5 plus 1 so 6 maybe? 3. I know the movie, but guess I don't remember a number when it came to the box. 7 maybe? 🙁 Great movie though! 4. One 5. 8 Mile in Detroit 6. 101 but the sequel was 102 so..... 7. Oh I love this movie, 500. He was and Architect. 😉 ( I know why you watched it so many times Jules...) 8. 12, Come on Michael this is a classic AWESOME movie!!! "12 Angry Men" and he was on the jury. 9. 300 10. Don't have a clue. 16? Just a guess. Bonus: 961 1. Baby Got Back to the Future 😵‍💫 2. Hail Mary Shelly 3. Addams Family Feud 4. No clue about that one. 5. Beauty and the Beast something... 6. Nope, sorry Julie, I really don't know her songs. 7. Freddy versus ?? 8. ?? 9. ?? 10. Jack Black Swan Bonus: Betty While Sox First one I missed Number 10 but I guessed one off not bad. 😁 Are you sure you got 3. correct? Addams Family Values was the name of the movie, add Steve Harvey, Family Feud So Addams Family Feud. but I missed 6 of them so you still beat me anyway. LOL 1. Black Hole 2. ?? 3. Big Bang 4. Barometer 5. Botany 6. Huh?? No idea. 7. Well it's an antacid, but no clue what it is. 8. Wow it's been way too long since school... No idea. 9. Want to say forests but obviously not correct. 10. Bubonic Plague I think. Bonus: Bandwidth is the only "B" that comes to mind.. Where is Marshall when we need him? 1. Huh? Barack, Donald, George, Joseph...... this makes no sense. 2. "Radon" 3. Michael "Dorn" played Worf, but have no clue what we're doing here. Worf was a Klingon in the Tv series/Movies series.) 4. "Don" (King), okay but I still don't get what the first questions President name is. So add a letter to radon to get a Presidents name. 5. It's got to be "No" right? 6. Force would be Newtons or "N" I guess. which fits... Thinking it was either Newtons or Oxygen for the answer, so has to be "N." Agree with Michael, it's always N equals something in Physics isn't? Man that was a long time ago. 7. "An" Yep N was correct. 😁 So back to the President, keep thinking Reagan but that doesn't fit. 8. "RNA" Oh crap I had it, but thinking last names.... You're right Julie, "Ronald", removed the "L" to get radon Duh.... 9. Oh wow, this one stumps me... Only names that comes to mind is Rona, Dona, and Nora... 10. I call it a stove. 🤓 Only other name that comes to mind is a Range but that means with an oven I think. Hot plate? Bonus: Gonna miss this one I'm sure... Okay so the only name that has RNA in it, is once again Reagan. He went full circle here. So we added an E and G in the last two answers. Aren for 9 maybe? Then add a G to a stove with burners? It was range.... Oh man Julie saying it then it clicked..... Okay I cheated thanks to Michael teaching me, asked ChatGTP to make names with those letters and what do the names mean? Hey you turned the sound off and we couldn't work together, but I'm betting "mom" figured it out. 😉 The name is Erna, never heard of it before either but mean serious in German.... I know I cheated but after an hour I had to know. LOL Nera, Rane and Aren were the only other names it gave.... Cool music choice Julie!! Not sure how to score this one since I cheated but oh well, did get some of them right. These trivia nights would be so much fun as teams!!!! Round 3 Scores Got 6 including the bonus, not very good. Dang it. Round 4. Well I cheated so doesn't matter, but Earn isn't a name, but Erna is according to ChatGTP and it does mean serious in German so.... And Thanks to Julie did finally figure out Ronald, which was my Father-in-laws name. OOPS... So missed the name and Stove along with Ronald... That was fun to watch!!! Congrats on finishing 3rd You Two!!

      Good morning, Mustang! I'm way behind on comments again I see.. very sorry about that! It's been such a busy October for us so far. I check in & read your comments on my phone sometimes, but unless I have time to pull out the laptop, I know there's no way I can properly respond to the whole thing! So this morning thank goodness it's a slow morning. I haven't even had coffee the last couple of days! Imagine what a basket case I am without coffee HAHA We have been the Elder Millennials for years now, my best friend and her partner (who is a good friend of Michael's) actually came up with that name, and the 4 of us used to do trivia under that name every single week. This was the last few years before we moved to Florida. We really missed them dearly and missed doing trivia when we moved to Florida, and we tried to find good trivia & good trivia buddies in Melbourne (without success!). So it feels good to be back in NC and able to do trivia with our friends again!! It feels a little weird using our team name when they're not actually with us (I wouldn't film a trivia with my friends there just so we wouldn't be rude talking to a phone all the time LOL) but it does feel great to get the name out again, even though we never even make top 3 winners LOL. Wasn't that a weird round where we subtracted and then added a letter to every answer?? I thought that was so fun though!! Never done anything like that in trivia before!! Once you get the hang of it, it does really help making coming up with the answers easier, although you see we still bombed haha. Uh oh did the sound cut out at one point? I wondered if it might. TH-cam had told me there was copyright music playing in the background, and I had options how to fix it per their guidelines, but I couldn't actually re-watch my video to see how the edits sounded. One of the options was diminish background sounds, but voices were supposed to still show up. So you're saying it muted the whole thing altogether? For how long? That's super annoying. I feel like I barely know how to edit with iMovie, and now if TH-cam is adding new edits for me, this is a bit over my head LOL. I certainly didn't turn the sound off on purpose, how freaking annoying, TH-cam! Surely there's a way to listen back to how TH-cam edits the video, I'll try to figure that out next time... Anyway, trivia nights are sooo much fun, and actually filming & editing the videos is super fun too! We are working on 4 trivia videos for October, but we might occasionally put ones up after October is over because I like doing them so much! I'm almost done editing October content and already starting to think about November. Do you have any suggestions? I have ideas for about 1/2 the month but am not sure what direction to take after that...

      Hi Julie! I figured you were busy over the weekend, off on another exciting adventure perhaps, or just taking care or personal stuff, trust me, I know how that is. I spent all day yesterday on the road, just didn't have time to do much of anything except drive. Although I did wish I had thought more about it, got to see some really beautiful Fall Weather, trees changing colors.... One of these days I'll start thinking like a YT creator before the event instead of after maybe...🤓 Trying to imagine Julie without coffee for a few days, kinda like the fasting you did before Colombia perhaps? You poor girl, Julie needs her coffee!! Is a cool name you and your friends use(d). I've never been to a trivia night like what you two have been doing and it does look like so much fun! I can't see Stacey ever wanting to go to one of those, she would if I asked her of course, but she'd probably say it wasn't much fun and wouldn't be able to answer many questions, but I know she would and could. I love how you two talk about the questions and what one may not know the other does, and when your friends were there, would even be more impressive hearing the four of you combining knowledge. Yeah that round was confusing at first, and if you didn't get the first "question" correct, made going forward really difficult. But if you could answer a later question, then work backwards, like we all did it helped. What go me was his explanation of how it worked. Once we figured out what we we're doing, it was really fun. especially when it got down to one letter. N or O, then work backwards and forwards. Actually made it that much more fun. 🙂 No I don't think the sound cut out, but maybe it did? You and Michael were discussing the answer and your voices were muted and music started playing, I assumed you did that in editing. But maybe the music in the background triggered the copywrite and TH-cam played the music? I know what you're talking about, the one "short" video i did from the beach, when I tried to upload, TH-cam said there was a copywrite violation or something, did I want to over write it so it could be published. I selected yes, but it uploaded anyway with the music still in it. It was like right after the MC stopped talking and maybe they played music in the background, and as soon as they shut the music off, the sound came back. Maybe that was what the issue was. I'm sure this is someway to remove background music in the editing, but no idea how. May have to look into that sometime. Guessing it takes some special equipment of software but still possible. November, hmmm well I'm sure you already have Thanksgiving themed content planned. Really the only other thing that is talked about that month is Black Friday and Football. Well and the NASCAR season ends in November Two things you don't want to do. Maybe college basketball starts around then too? Another thing is a no. 🤣 Speaking of NASCAR, the races this past weekend were in Charlotte, looked like you had beautiful weather down there! There is Veterans Day on the 11th, I know you would do a great one that day. They normally talk about Thanksgiving about the Pilgrims and the Native Americans sitting down for dinner, but has turned into Remembrance Day for Native Americans now I think I heard? Too early to start the countdown to Christmas? I seem to remember the day after Thanksgiving was the day people started Christmas decorations up, now it's the biggest shopping day.... I know, I'm not much help. 🙃

      Good morning, Mustang!!! :D. Congratulations again on your new job, I hope you are enjoying it!! You found a new one really fast! I had confidence that you would. I hope the hours & workload are better than the other job. You said you were happy to be on a normal shift again and I bet Stacey is happy to be on a regular schedule along with you!!! :D. Having one person on day shift and the other person on nights is really tough, I know!! We absolutely love trivia. We went out last night with our friends that I was telling you about yesterday. My best friend's partner's parents are in town visiting, so there were 6 of us at the table! I was the youngest one in the bunch HAHA. We had an awesome time. We actually were hoping NOT to win, because the winners get gift cards to the bar, and none of us wanted to be responsible to keep track of a giftcard and/or have to remember to come back to the bar. They actually gave out prizes of 6 packs of their beer! Our team came in 2nd place and got 2 6-packs as the prize, although we sent our friends home with both of the 6-packs lol. A 6-pack of beer would sit in our fridge til it haired over, we just don't drink at home. But we have a ton of fun with them. It was the first time we've done trivia with our old trivia friends since last year and it was so great to see them again!! You and Stacey should really try it. Even if you don't know the answers, you're still learning things and having a great time. The atmosphere is always entertaining even if you just like to people watch! And new food etc to try out... It's kind of a win all the way around, if you ask us! :D Once we finally understood what the directions were, that was our favorite round we've played in a long time, where you +/- a letter each answer. That was so cool!!! I didn't go back and play this whole video ON TH-cam to see what their edits sounded like. Hopefully that won't happen again! :) Yeah November is a toughie! Don't worry, I have Veteran's Day completely covered!! I'm very proud of the ideas I'm hatching for Veteran's Day. I have started making notes and doing some research and think I'm going to have about 1/2 the month of November booked easily. Not sure past that though. I do enjoy Thanksgiving but have no idea how to make content out of it. I definitely would not want to vlog our family get-togethers, and how many carnivore recipes does our channel need, etc. There is of course plenty to be grateful for but I'm not sure how to to turn that into a video. And you are right, SPORTS and NASCAR are OUT!!!!!!!!!! :D heheheheheheheh

    Well I must say this was a different adventure for you two. But first your advertisement report; First one was for tires, Apparently Firestone has a sale going on, and the second ad was for a car with "Alexa" built in. It started with the lady driving, she activates Alexa and says, "Feed Rocky." Which makes an Bluetooth dog feeder feed their dog Rocky. 🦴 (Getting used to hearing my name from time to time on your channel, but not trying to feed me. LOL 🤣😂🤣) There was one for cell phones again, and finally a scented candle ad at the end. My knowledge about mills isn't very good, and this would be a great video to show my Grandfather who did know some about them, I'm sure he could answer all of your questions about how they worked. In the county where we live, there is three forks of a river that come together and go out the south end of the county and eventually flow into the Brookville Reservoir State Park, a very popular camping, boating, fishing location not far from where we live currently. The East fork of The Whitewater River ran just behind our house and was between our home and my grandparents home. We spent a lot of time in and around the river. What I wouldn't give to have video of that old Iron bridge that crossed the river we crossed thousands of times on our bikes. I do know that mills were a big part of the county and the city we live near now because of the river(s) coming through and they built mills along them and all over the state. There is still one near the church where attended. My Grandfather used to talk about that one a lot when we were growing up. I wish he was still around to be able to talk to and tell us how this mill worked, what all of those parts are for.... Really enjoyed listening to the water near the end, reminded me of my childhood days playing along the river. Miss that more than I can say here. 😁 Fun video, now I'm going to look up our history of mills in the county. ☺

      Good morning Mustang!!!!! I'm getting a real kick out of these advertisements reports! Sounds like they finally figured out that you don't live in Latin America, so they stopped sending you ads in Spanish!! Way to go, TH-cam!! :D. *insert clapping emoji here, if I were on my phone..*. So now TH-cam knows your name is Rocky, and you like dogs, and somehow it got the idea you're a dog?? This is just too funny, I can't LOLOLOLOLOLOL. They really went rogue with the scented candle, maybe they thought you needed Christmas present ideas or something LOL I really like abandoned things like this, always have. Back in my younger days, I wasn't above urban exploration of anything that I could get into without physically removing a barricade, crossing a "No Trespassing" sign, or having to do any damage to the building to get in. Seems like places like that are getting harder & harder to find, or perhaps I've just grown up a little bit. But I couldn't resist exploring this one. My dad was always a big fan of grist mills, so I remember going to see many as a kid. Active, working ones, or at least restored ones, that is. It was really nice to see this one, which although unfortunately it burned down and fell to the whims of nature, is still standing pretty tall & proud. It really brought back memories of places I've been & seen as a kid with my dad. Relics of that era are going to get harder & harder to find.

      Good afternoon Julie!!! Sorry, started the new job today, well orientation anyway. Officially a City Employee now. 🥸 Glad you enjoyed the Advertisement reports. LOL Still trying to figure out how and why I get the ones I do. And just so you know, every once in awhile i do still see some in Spanish. Usually and Internet or phone company. The latest ads have been mostly political though, both sides, and several for candidate's in Illinois. (I think because the IP Address returns to Chicago, a Starlink hub maybe?) It's funny when the ad starts, I usually look over to the right side to wait for the skip button, but then heard, "Alexa, Feed Rocky" . HAD to see that one. LOL Just waiting for Stacey to try that one. Well I'm glad you don't remove barricades or ignore No Trespassing signs. While I'm sure those places, as few as they are anymore, would be interesting to see, not worth the trouble you could get into if you did trespass. LOL I did look up the mills in our county, there were at least 22 at one time. Some neat pictures, before and after, stories was pretty cool. Found out a man that my Grandfather used to talk about actually wrote a book about mills as well. Pretty cool how this adventure of yours brought back memories not only for you but for me as well. ☺

    Thank you for placing flowers at Brandi's graveside. Brandi is my cousin and was my best friend. I was on the phone with her Wallace came to her door and she let him in to use her phone. Once she and i hung up Wallace began his attack on her. Its wonderful that Brandi continues to be remembered❤

      Hi there, George, I am so honored to hear from you! Thank you so much for taking the time to watch the video that I made and leave a comment. Reading what you wrote about Brandi, as well as what happened when you spoke to her last, truly touched my heart. I can tell from your comment how much you loved her and cared about her, and it helps bring her to life in my mind from your memories. My heart hurts for you and for your whole family. I can't even imagine how deeply losing Brandi has affected all of you, and I'm so sorry that you all had to experience losing her. I didn't know Brandi in this world, but in doing research for the video, I learned that many people had said that Brandi was a loving and sweet person, and she had so much potential in her life. She is such a beautiful young woman in all the photos of her that I've seen! I am so sorry for the loss of your cousin and best friend, and I hope your family has found some peace and healing through all of this. Thank you for still loving her so much as you do and for helping to keep her memory alive for those of us who didn't know her. That's a victory that no one could ever take away from you. 💐🌷🌸

      Hi there! We made the creme brulee in the video, but a quick crash course would be: 1 quart heavy whipping cream 2 tablespoons real vanilla extract 6 large egg yolks Your favorite sugar free flavoring (we use Skinny Girl) Mix, pour into ceramic ramikin, place in the over in a water bath at 325* for 90 minutes or until the consistency is what you want Hope that helps!! If you make this, please let me know how you like it! 🩵🩷💜

    I'm sorry, but how completely incompetent do these law enforcement officers have to be not to tie this sad excuse for a human being to these murders? The bulk of them were raped, and strangled. The same person attended many of the funerals of the victims. Not to mention how most of them all worked with this same person. Didn't fit the "profile"???????? Since when do criminals follow the profiles? Some do, some don't. Throw away the damn book and look at the clues, do your damn job!! Criminals follow the "rules" law enforcement just makes up??? It took 10 murders before they started asking questions of the victims families?? 🤬😡🤬 I agree with the families of his victims. The police and FBI completely dropped the ball on this. And if they did so as the families claimed, because they were "African American, or party girls" or whatever, they should all be ashamed and no longer be allowed to work in law enforcement. They were ALL young beautiful HUMAN BEINGS!!! This was amazing work Julie! Bravo!! This is one of your best to date!!! I agree with you completely, the moratorium on death sentences needs to end. This "person" does not deserve to be housed and paid for by the citizens of North Carolina. Every penny that has been spent on housing this "person" in prison needs to be given back by the state who has also failed to do it's job and given to MOM-O. Sorry Julie, I tell you this is one of your best videos ever, then say that it left me extremely mad and disappointed. These young ladies didn't deserve this, and it's sickening to think just how recently this happened, how long it took law enforcement to put two and two together. 🤬 Thank You for the work you put into this one. 🌹🌹 Very proud of you my friend!! I could tell by the end of the video, you aren't happy either. But just know this, you did these young ladies and their families proud! ❤❤❤❤❤

      Good morning Mustang!!!!!! Is this not the most infuriating true crime case?! I mean since last week's most infuriating true crime case, Kim Thomas. It just boils my blood honestly. I'm glad Wallace will never see the outside of a prison again, but dang, he has been given decades to live his best life under the circumstances. He even has a wife now, he married a former prison nurse in a room in the prison right next to the execution chamber that they no longer use. I don't know what that just pisses me off when criminals marry prison nurses. I guess because I am a nurse, I just want to shake these women and ask Why. This man has devastated the lives of so many women, broken hearts of these women's mothers, left (how many?) children without their mothers. And you'd want to MARRY him?!?! Knowing he will never get out of the prison?? I think the piece that boils my blood the most is how the FBI agents dipped in and said Nope! And left more women to get killed. I just feel so angry about that, the way this whole side of town was looked at, as if they deserved what they got, as if no one in law enforcement cared enough to protect them. It's absolutely infuriating. Making this video was emotionally really difficult for me. Thank goodness he is in prison, but man I wish they would just fry him already. What a useless human being. All those taxpayers' dollars going to keep him up. Some of these women are buried in graves without even a marker, and he gets 3 meals a day and a bed. And a wedding. INFURIATING. I am really pleased you enjoyed this video. It's okay to tell me that you enjoyed it while simultaneously saying how angry it made you, because believe me, I feel exactly the same way. This video was really hard, the more I researched, the more incensed I got. But it's important to me that things like this don't get forgotten and I enjoy sharing. Most of all I enjoy talking about it and trying to keep things alive <3

      Yes it is!! I thought about it a lot yesterday after watching it, couldn't even comment on it like I normally do. Then went back and watched it again to comment. I know we're being "armchair quarterbacks" here, but certain things just kept sticking in my mind than anyone with just a little common sense couldn't have missed. Why would a certain person keep showing up at several murdered ladies funerals? Ladies that were murdered pretty much the same way. That they all had some ties to this same person? It stinks to think that the police just didn't think that the murders were worth investigating because of who was murdered if what the families claimed is true. And the fact the CPD did apologize later makes you think or feel like the families were correct. And "we investigated ourselves and found we did nothing wrong" is the biggest line of BS coming out of police agencies in the whole country, still today even!! He married a prison Nurse?? This story just keeps getting worse... Stacey was recruited by a local prison after she graduated Nursing School. I'm a pretty laid back kind of person, I'm not controlling at all, especially when it comes to our relationship. In this case I told her no way should she even consider that job, and I didn't care how much they were willing to pay. And explained why. My sister does work for this prison, she's not a nurse. But works in the office, the stories she could tell, oh my. 😡 What's wrong with our society that the criminals are treated better than their victims? I've never understood that. I do understand the protection of cruel and unusual punishment, but look at what he did to not just one, but 11 young women!! Can criminals be rehabilitated? Sure some can, some can completely turn their lives around. But some can't. What's the point of keeping people like that alive? And don't get me started on the FBI......🤬 I could tell how you felt about this video just by watching it and listening to your tone. But I'm so glad you did do it. You really did a great thing here. You opened my eyes to it and as time goes on, more and more will watch it too. And most will feel the same way we do. These young ladies deserved so much more than what they got from those who are supposed to stop these terrible crimes from happening. And you Young lady, did a wonderful job telling this story! And I know you well enough, that you're not going to just forget about it. Just like you won't about Kim Thomas! I can't say it enough, Thank You Julie for what you did here and will continue to do. I think this case is unfortunately, done and dusted, so far as it will ever be. Unlikely there will ever be any more updates. He has not appealed his sentence since 2005, which I'm assuming means he has run out of appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court denied his appeal back in 2001. So unless we get a headline that he has passed away in prison, this story will probably end here. My heart hurts for all his victims and their families. I hope they all have found peace and joy in this world despite what happened to him.

    Grrrr. I swear I copied and pasted my comment here, but it's not saved on my notepad. Now TH-cam is working with Microsoft and deleting my comments here and on my computer when I do save them..... I really like this story, When people said they were smelling smoke, I kept thinking, "its a fire station, when they come back they smell like smoke. Duh..." Then you brought it up. Great minds think alike don't we? 😉🤭 As someone who has lived through two fires, you know about the house fire we had, in my first job, working in a Hardee's, the building caught fire while we working. And they wouldn't let us leave. I kid you not, someone pulled up to the drive-through, "Hey did you know there is a fireman on your roof chopping it with and axe? I want a big deluxe, large fries and a large coke." People actually got mad when the dining room started filling up with smoke. They re-built that building and it burnt down again a few years later. LOL Anyway, that smell, it never goes away. To this day when I smell it, turns my stomach. We still have a few things that we salvaged from the home, it's been 12 years now I think, still smells. So yeah, of course they smelled smoke. I also said something like I had an idea about turning the station into a restaurant. Something about a Spaghetti place seems to fit into an old fire station. I went to one once in an old railroad depot, and even back then, I thought this would work better in an old firehouse. No idea why, just something that has always stuck in my mind. One of the old stations here in town is a sub place. Firehouse Subs. I must not be the only one who think fire stations would be a good restaurant. LOL i did really like this story but man, do something with that building. Yeah I know, it's nice and plain looking, but it's so cool looking. Shame its just sitting there with people apparently breaking into it. Hey I know, the Charlotte Chapter of Ghostbusters!!!! 👻 Who Y'ALL Gonna Call. 🤣😂 👻👻

      Good morning Mustang!!! Oh nooooo not TH-cam problems again!!! I'm so sorry, that sucks so much. They're working together now I guess, that's just wonderful. I'll try to remember to copy paste all my responses to you too. I know I lost one comment when I was leaving the barrage of comments on your Arboretum video (I hope you don't mind! It was just easier to post a new comment every time I clicked in to watch a few minutes than do one long comment and risk it getting lost). Fortunately it was a short enough comment I could basically recreate it. Great Minds Think Alike for sure!!! I keep wondering why the firehouse smells like smoke, since it was never actually on fire itself, but surely the firemen's uniforms and gear would have brought some smell in, so would that be enough smoke/smokey smell to linger for all these decades later? I hope this video didn't bring back any bad memories for you, I didn't even think about putting in a disclaimer or anything at the beginning. You & your spaghetti!!!!! :D. LOL :D :D :D :D :D. Firehouse Subs is my favorite sub restaurant, although to be honest I haven't eaten a sub in over 2 years at this point. They do have GREAT meats & breads! I believe that chain was started by firemen from NYC, it would have been super cool if they could have opened all firehouse subs in old fire stations, though! Charlotte is definitely suffering an extreme housing crisis right now, it's really sad. I've been in cemeteries frequently this month, both for the channel and off camera hanging out with friends, and I have to keep my head on a swivel because there are so many people calling these cemeteries home now. It didn't surprise me at all to find this firehouse was home to a few people. It's just so sad. I found out about a meeting happening in Charlotte that I want to go to just out of curiosity sake. I'm going to copy paste the information on the Landmarks preservation committee's website since I can't share links here. I'm thinking of going to this if I can just to learn more. "Join us on October 24th at the Dubois Center at UNC Charlotte Center City for a discussion on historic preservation and affordable housing with Donovan Rypkema. Find event details here. Mr. Rypkema is one of the foremost experts in the economics of preservation, and he will discuss how vital it is to preserve existing housing in a community. You can read more about him here. Mr. Rypkema is extremely effective in using data to demonstrate that there is a negative effect on housing affordability every time an older residence, regardless of its value, is demolished."

      Goood Morning Julie!!! I wish i could understand the deleted comments, I've seen errors while trying to post comments a lot lately too. Mostly from my phone but even on my computer too. Not having those problems on any other platform, but using this one a whole lot more than the others so maybe its just normal. Who knows?. I think one of you comments was double posted on the Arboretum video. No big deal of course, but just shows the comment deleting seems to be working both ways sometimes. LOL I think once material, of any kind gets exposed to smoke for any length of time it just starts smelling that way. After the fire, we had been told that the smoke damaged clothing could be salvaged if it was washed a certain way, and since we didn't have anything except what we wearing, we tried everything that was suggested to us. Some of it worked, some of it didn't. But no matter what, the smell, ever so slight was still there. I had a leather jacket, that years later still smelled like smoke after being professionally cleaned. I just tossed it. The video didn't bring back bad memories, just memories. Not like you forget things like this happening ever, you just move forward and do what you can to make sure it never happens again. The smell however does bring back the bad memories. That's when you remember, think about what is gone forever, that you'll never have or see again. And that smell just doesn't go away ever. So that's what I think these people are smelling when they "think they are smelling cigar smoke." Its not the same smell compared to a bonfire, or camp fire. It's a completely different scent. I smelled it after getting off work early one morning this past Spring as soon as i walked outdoors. Found out later, a house up the road caught fire. Didn't need to see it, I could smell it. 😟 That's cool there are people out there working on repurposing older buildings and actually trying to make them into places for people to live. It's not really just Charlotte but all over the country. Not to mention our neighbors to the west of you after Helene, and the folks in Florida after Milton. I know what it's like when suddenly you have no idea where you're going to sleep tonight. Or where will you find clothes, food, toilet paper....

    Hmmm... Potters Field...Probably a coincidence, but one of Patricia Cornwell's books is Titled that I think, or something close to it. Interesting stories, and once again can tell you did a ton of research. The entire time I lived and have visited Virginia and the "South" I can't say I remember ever hearing of the Belk department stores. A few years ago, the was and possibly still is a "Belk Bowl" football game. I had no idea what "Belk" meant. Still trying to figure out how I've spent so much time in the south and had never heard of them. (I'd never heard of Dillards until they opened a store in our mall just before people stopped going to malls. LOL man I've lived a sheltered life huh?) I had heard of Governor Morrison, if I remember correctly, his name came up a lot when they started removing Confederate Names from buildings. While obviously not an American hero, still think it's wrong to erase history. The log cabin marker is amazing looking!! That took some real talent!! The Potters Field section is sad to see. But do think it's a great thing they have and continue to do there? Another AWESOME Job Julie! If you get an extra hour, did finally post my Arboretum video. ☺ Few mistakes I've seen, and I still need to work on my voice over skills, but I'm learning. 😊

      Good morning Mustang!!!!! What a coincidence that we're talking about Patricia Cornwell again! I went to an antique consignment store with my grandma last week, and they had a huge stack of her books!! But I think they were all fiction. I'm specifically looking for her book on Jack the Ripper, and if I find it I'll read it! Potter's Field is sad, especially to think only the poorest of white people could be buried there, as if they weren't "good enough" to be buried in Elmwood, but "too good" to be buried in Pinewood. The whole situation is so bizarre to me and I'm so glad our world has changed so much, away from such ideology. CANNOTTTTTT believe you've never heard of Belk!! What the absolute F!!! Belk's are everywhere down here, I can't think of any mall I've ever visited without one. Including all over Florida when we lived there. The furthest north one I've visited was when we went to Huntington West Virginia, although I can't remember if I ever saw one in Ohio. Belk's is kind of a staple here, possibly the most common department store, much more common than Dillard's, I would think, based on malls I can think of that have Belk's but not Dillard's. You are correct, the department store sponsors the Belk football game. Even me, with my likited sports trivia knowledge, knew that one!!! 😂😂😂😂😂 I'm so glad you enjoyed this video! It was so much fun to film & put together. Where we are living is super close to this cemetery, and I've been over there many times now. I've been going there for years to get out and walk, and Michael likes to run there, although he's on a treadmill kick nowadays. The Florida heat kind of ruined him for running outside 😂😂😂

    • @Mustang-6-The-Force

      Hi Julie!!!! Patricia Cornwell's newest book just came out this week. I have all them pre-ordered so Stacey gets them the day they are released, but she won't pick it up until we go to Florida next year. LOL And how she lost last years book. (We did find it after we returned home by the way. 🤣, so now she has two copies..) So while looking into her books, I found out there are two versions of the Jack the Ripper book Cornwell wrote. The first one is called, Portrait of a Killer: Jack the Ripper―Case Closed. Then it was re-released with a different title, Ripper: The Secret Life of Walter Sickert. From what I've read, the second book incorporates material from the first book, adds 8 new chapters and includes maps and pictures. (This sounds like it's right up your alley!!!) The second one is available on Kindle Unlimited which I think you both have?? Look it up and see if you can get it, I bet you'll really like it! The first one isn't right now, but the paperback isn't expensive at all. The Potters Field book is one that I keep mixing up with another book of hers. I haven't read them, but Stacey tells me about them. Potters Field is about a murder in North Carolina, which may be why it struck a chord with me, and The other book is called the Body Farm. Cadavers are put in various stages of death in a field so they can study what happens to humans left in the elements after dying. I think these are people who left their bodies to science rather than being buried. Maybe why I thought Potters Field Cemetery was tied to her book. But the story of that book did happen in NC, so who knows? Well Belk doesn't exist up here, at least I've never seen one anyway. LOL If there was one in Harrisonburg VA, where I lived, I sure don't remember it, and it is a college town, so you'd think it may have been there. This was the mid '80's too, don't know if that matters or not. But when I heard about the Belk Bowl, I had no idea what they were saying. Then I saw the emblem, Belk. What is Belk? 🤓 I did however see Belk stores on the way to Florida this year and last year. All thanks to the football game. I guess it does pay to advertise huh? 😂🤣 I really like listening to the the history and the people you talk about. Can tell you've done research and that really interests me. There is SO MUCH history in just about every graveyard. It's sad that people seem to forget about people once they die. And maybe it's creepy to some folks, stories like these are so fun to watch and listen to in my opinion anyway. ☺

      Good morning Mustang!!! Currently, I think you have delivered to me the best news I have heard all day! I've been looking everywhere for Portrait of a Killer, but it's currently out of print! I go back and forth on the Kindle vs. physical copy situation. I absolutely hate owning a huge collection of books that we have to move around with us every time we change homes or put into storage. About once every year or 2, I have a huge box full of physical books to donate to a second hand bookstore or library. But reading on the kindle is just not working out for me. ADHD maybe? I just cannot seem to dive into anything on the Kindle. I get burned out and bored not having a book in my hands, and I rarely ever finish a book on the kindle. I really wanted to find Portrait of a Killer in physical form, but you can't buy it anymore anywhere that we shop, and I've been looking in used bookstores in Charlotte (and even when we were in Louisville!) and just can't find it. But now that I know she wrote a 2nd book, I'm way more excited for that! I will start the hunt all over again for a physical copy of Ripper. I think I"m going to need to read it in a physical copy so I'll try to find a used version somewhere. If I can't, maybe I'll just get it on Kindle. I'm really excited for it though! I've been really busy trying to finish up videos for October. They're almost all done being edited at this point, I've been focusing all my time on working on TH-cam. Hopefully I'll be at a good stopping point soon. I' have a few ideas for November, but I'd like to take a breather break before starting in on those! :D. A nice book to knock out reading in a day or 2 would be heavenly! I'm so pleased that you enjoy these little bite sized history videos so much!! I can't even tell you how much I enjoy making them. I've always loved history, but it does tend to go "in one ear and out the other" for me. I've found that filming, researching, editing, watching it back over, things really start to sink in for me and turn into long term memories for me. There are so many resources now a days to make spending time in cemeteries so enjoyable and help you learn more about who is buried where. There's an app for find a grave dot com, which often links photos and obituaries or other relevant articles. I'm already starting to feel like I have friends buried all over Elmwood & Pinewood and other cemeteries around town. It's so bizarre to think these people never knew me, but I'm eating up as much information about them as I can find.

      Amazon has both of the books, they are pretty cheap. You could probably get whichever or both pretty quickly. Then you'll have to do a book report on it. of course. 😁😉 The first book is $14 Hardback, $9 for paperback. The second one is $14 for hardback as well. I think we saw it on Merritt Island, Books-a-Million store, but Stacey didn't end up getting that one when she restocked her collection. Can't remember if she read it or not. She really likes the Scarpetta Series. LOL Well you know me and history, I love learning new things and even if its learning from their grave, it's fun to watch and learn. Its cool you do these like you have. 🙂

      oh cool is Portrait of a Killer back in stock on Amazon?? It was "out of print" last time I checked, but admittedly that was quite a few weeks ago when we were first talking about Patricia Cornwell. I'll have to check again, although now I really want the Ripper book instead haha. I'd like to check some local used bookstores first though just in case. It's so cool to meet people with similar hobbies for sure. I was so surprised while doing this series, how many like-minded people I've met here in Charlotte and talked to!

    Ashamed to say, have only read one of them. The Mist. I have read several books, Christine, Cujo, and Pet Sematary when I was in school. And part of The Green Mile later on. Have to admit read some of them because of the movies. Have always wanted to read Rita Hayworth, but the movie was just so good, and finding out it was just a short story, worried it might not tell enough of the story. Honestly think once he started talking more and more about politics, and especially the gun culture after supposedly some of his books/stories were bases of some shootings, I stopped paying attention to his work. Plus as Julie knows, I'm more of a biography, docu-drama, fiction reader now. Although if a good science fiction book comes my way, I've been known to read them. Sorry I only know three of the titles, heard about 1408 the movie and wanted to see it, but still haven't come across it. Will say you are very correct about the ending of The Mist. Ouch!! I did write your list down, I'll have to look for them on the Kindle once I clear up some space on it. LOL

      @michaelandjulie 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hey Rocky! Thank you for the comments. I have to admit that I've never read Christine. I watched the movie first and hated it, lol. Stupid car movie. The only read the Green Mile a few months ago for the first time. I remember when the serials were being released but never picked it up and then the movie came out and loved it, so didnt feel the need. King was channeling his inner Dickens publishing that way. I will say Shawshank has more depth in the short story but amazing movie too. Top 10 for sure. I will also agree on the political side too. There were several years I put his works down and found/discovered other authors. YES for real. Read Rage and you'll see. It's banned now and out of circulation but if you can find a used copy it's amazing in the sense of him getting into the psyche of a disturbed kid in high school. I'm not sure if that one is even available digitally. However, I will say that Kindle does a great job of offering one story at a time for $0.99, so you don't have to purchase the entire book of short stories. Thanks as always friend! Have a great day.

      Hey Michael, I actually liked Christine, both the book and the movie. While I realize it was a car movie to a point, to me it was more about the young man and what the demon possessed car did to him, or made him become. Was kind of they young man I was growing up, good in school, but a nerd, ignored for the most part. Best friend, the star athlete... The Green Mile intrigued me because of the movie, but just couldn't get through the series of books, I don't think I finished the first one. Just one of those books you put it down and never pick it up again. Just didn't grab me. I just don't understand people who have made a name for themselves, sticking their nose into politics. Never have. More so now than ever, politics is a dirty, nasty topic. And I don't care what side of the isle we're talking about. What I don't get is why a basketball player, movie actor, or a writer for example feels the need to state what they think of politics. I don't care. Then when you open your mouth, it ruins your reputation for me in your chosen profession. My grandfather never spoke about politics, would never say who he was voting for. Always said it was best to keep politics out of conversations. Although we all knew what type of person he was, who he voted for. He was a no nonsense, common sense man. Some dumb reporter sticks a microphone in an actor/celebrity/athlete face and asks "who are you supporting/voting for?" The answer is simple, "I don't talk about politics, and you shouldn't be asking, it's none of you're or anyone one else's business!" Then walk away. Hope you have a great day too and a great weekend too my friend!

      Agree with you totally. It's just unprofessional to talk politics when your career or reason for fame isn't relevant to politics. I with more of them could just focus on being good human beings and not push an agenda, and let people vote as they feel fit without making anyone feel guilty. Totally agree with you. Hope you & Stacey have a great weekend! The weather is beautiful here in Charlotte, hope it is for you too!

    Interesting Creepy story. At first I thought maybe it was a diseased tree, but I'm sure if it was, the city would have had it removed by now. I mean if it is the same tree, strangest looking Maple tree I've ever seen. (Just finished cutting one up today that the storm took down.) Pretty nice looking Victorian Churches in Louisville also.. I think I've visited Louisville there years ago, but can't remember why. Stacey does go to the Dog Show there every March/April. They schedule it at the same time as March Madness, and isn't one of their favorite shows. LOL Something tells me there is more coming from Louisville...... ☺😁

    • @michaelandjulie
      @michaelandjulie 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hey Rocky! Thanks for the complement. I had read about that tree for years and years and never went to see it; but it was one of those stories passed down by locals about weird events in your town. There were a number of people that showed up that day. It took forwver to film by ourselves. Unfortunately, it will be the only video from Louisville. We wanted to see my Mom and bring her back with us, so I tried to kill two birds there, lol. And you might hear my Mom in the background, she comes to trivia with us sometimes. I know that dog show you're talking about. I've never been but have seen it on local TV many times. We're also over here worried to death about Florida and what this new hurricane is going to do in a few days. Are you and Stacy finished traveling there for this year? I don't know yet what Jules and I will do. We've been contacting friends there offering our place here for shelter if needed. Anyway, you guys stay safe and as always, thanks for the conversariin buddy!

      Hi Michael!! It is an interesting story and fits really well into the theme this month. Pretty cool how you could get this story and pick your Mom up all at one time. I bet Julie would like to do a story on some of those churches next time you're in Louisville though. They looked like they hold a lot of history in each, and you know Julie and her history story telling. I know what you mean about the next storm headed towards Florida. Know people in the Tampa area, and family all over the state, so ALWAYS worried when these storms happen. Stacey and I do hope to still go to Orlando for the National Dog Show in December, but with my new job, not sure if we can both do that now. (I haven't started yet by the way, passed the background check, then on to the drug test and physical which I passed this morning actually. Will start the new job next week.) Still keeping in touch with my brother and Sister-in-law in Erwin Tennessee as well. They were hit pretty hard and being ignored for the most part. 😠 You all stay safe to Michael!! Great to talk again! Miss our daily to and from "workout" chats! ☺

      Thank You! It’s technically a 1st shift job, but not really 1 shift hours. 10am to 6:30pm. It’s a maintenance position with cities transportation. Part of the duties will be locking everything up once buses return, that’s the different hours. So more normal than what I’ve been doing. I hope so too, but can’t count on being able to take the time off. But fingers crossed also. Yeah Sticky won Best in Show in the only two shows he’s been in. Not bad for a puppy huh?

    Now that is really cool. And the pictures before and after, really made the story even more amazing. I love that they were able to keep as much of the original building like they did. The floor alone is magnificent, even with the oil stains from car engines. I adore old wooden floors like that. I do think there needs to be an Historical Marker for the school, which may exist now? But in this case, needs to be two of them. One at the museum and at it original location. I'm sure you agree Julie. 😉 Hope you do get to visit the museum and spend a few extra minutes in this school house. Thanks Julie and Michael!!

      Good morning Mustang!!!!! I'm so thrilled you enjoyed this video!! There's a special place in my heart for this old school, even though I couldn't show it in the video, and I'm for sure going to go see it as soon as I can. It will make me feel so connected to my younger adult years, and I have much more of an appreciation for it now, knowing its history & significance. Don't worry, I will for sure take the vlog and show you!!! I agree with you, ever mark and defect just tells more of the building's history and is precious. I also agree, it absolutely needs a historical marker! 🍎 🏫 ❤️

      Stacey and I went to a consolidated school system. It used to be 4 different systems when our parents went to school. So most of the small schools were closed and we have several around our county that are no longer "schools". Some were torn down though. I always liked hearing about the smaller schools and seeing where they were. Especially the really small "one room" schools. Just seeing the floor of that school, was something that reminded me of the small schools around here. Plus you've probably heard or seen the movie "Hoosiers", even though it was about basketball, I know you're not into sports, it showed what the small schools used to look like here in Indiana. 🙂 They used real locations for a lot of that movie. (The school the movie is based on, is close to where we live.) There is a radio re-broadcast here on TH-cam of a game my father played in back long before I was born. ☺ The school my parents went to, had about 20 in their graduating class. They were playing the big school in the county. So fun hearing them talk about my dad as the game goes on...🙂 Wonder why some places listed as a Historical Places don't have markers? As we learned in Memorial May, sometimes they did exist and then disappeared. But seems like they should all have them once they are listed on the national registry. 😐

    • @michaelandjulie
      @michaelandjulie 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Good morning, Mustang!!! No, I've never seen or heard of Hoosiers... not surprising though if it's about basketball haha. I'm sure Michael has. I do feel like those smaller schoolhouses were a lot more common to stumble upon years ago than they are today, though. I wonder if they were collected and preserved or just torn down? I can think of a few around NC that I remember from way back when that are gone now. Hopefully, like Siloam, somebody repurposed them into something different or at least collected them for living history museums and is preserving them! :) I'm stumped about the marker situation myself too. Unfortunately, I've learned a lot doing these historical marker videos.... In my naivity, I assumed that having a marker meant there was a funding or group of people or organization dedicated to preserving the location or at least maintaining it to a level where it was safe and attractive for the public to visit. Unfortunately that is definitely NOT the case. My first experience was when Michael & I went to Yeehaw Junction. Not only was no one doing anything to restore that property, but there were active rumors that the historic building was going to be demolished!! (and sadly, it has been demolished since we were there). I just assumed because it was on the national registry of historic places, that someone somewhere with money and the proper backing was looking out for these places. It was just assumed that someone had stolen the historic marker at Yeehaw Junction because that was such a cool, unique place. Very frustrating, and sad, when you truly love history and especially love to go experience the locations first hand, and then you get there and it's just a marker... or worse... :(

      Hi Julie!!! Kinda shocked you've never heard of that movie. Do believe you've never watched it though. LOL It's always on some ones list of Sports Movies you MUST See! (Which means Julie will never watch it. 😂) Gene Hackman was the star, Dennis Hopper is in it, Barbra Hershey... Up until just a few years ago, Indiana had a "classless" High School basketball tournament. All High Schools participated no matter how big or small they were. Of course the larger schools teams almost always won the State Championships, but every once in awhile a small school would do really good. Back in the 50's a small school went all the way and won over a big city school, that's what the movie is based on. I bet Michael has at least heard of it, came out in 1986 I think... The smaller schools were a lot more common back then. We have 5 schools in our county today, there were over 20 years ago. The school my parents went to was partially torn down, part of it still remains. (The old Shop class rooms are now a home. LOL) Some of them are just rotting away, some are homes, rec centers, storage places... It's kinda sad. I often wonder what's the point of listing some place as a Historical then later tearing it down. I understand if the upkeep is too expensive, it's a safety hazard, best thing to do is get rid of it, but if it's a Historical Landmark, at least put up a marker that tells part of it's story. At least this place has a new home and is being recognized in a museum.

      Good morning, Mustang!!!! OK, so you said there's lots of ads on this video. Very curious, I wonder if they stuck more ads in sporadically throughout the video because it is so long? I mean, it's WAY longer than the normal videos we post on our channel. I really don't know how TH-cam chooses what ads to place and where, but then again haven't really investigated that yet. We haven't even properly set up and signed into a Google Ad Sense account yet. Scanning through your answers, sounds like you did better than we did!! I knew you would be proud of me for knowing the Star Wars one!! I couldn't believe Michael was about to miss that one!! Gloria GAINOR!!!! You're right, we just could not remember her name!!! Was she a "one hit wonder"??? I thought this was super fun, we really enjoy trivia so we are filming a few of our trips to Trivia games lately when we go just the 2 of us. Editing trivia night videos is so much fun!!! Takes a really long time because the video is so long but I think it's a fun change in direction. I am bringing sooooo much sad/tragic/heavy/dark content to our channel this month, and Michael is bringing some really niche lighter hearted content to the channel, so I thought this was a nice mix to shake it up and enjoy some fall flavors with learning some fun trivia! :)

      Hi Julie!!!! It started out with lots of ads, I mean there were two before the video even started playing. Then a few minutes in another one. No idea what causes them or what selects them. I got political ads as well, local and national from both sides. Some are in Spanish. I did however notice, as I was stopping the video to type my comment, the ads slowed way down. Last 15 minutes or so, there were no ads until the very end. And No I'm not going to send even $5 dollars to some political campaign.... LOL Obviously because you're so popular now, they are throwing in the ads. 😁 I think I used to be a lot better at trivia than I am now. My mind just goes blank so much now a days. That old age thing I guess. LOL And I was very proud you remembered the Star Wars one and Michael did almost miss it, come on Michael!! Julie has never even seen the movies. LOL makes me feel good that we continue to teach each other things. 😉 I think Gloria Gainer probably was a one hit wonder. Wasn't the song from Flashdance? Maybe she had others, wasn't exactly my fav type of music, disco, but it was popular so..... I liked this video a lot! Was a change-up and pretty cool to watch and play along. And Like that you threw it in the middle of the Darker creepy time of the year. 🙂

    I agree with @TheFloridaBikeVlogger, this is very good Julie. There obviously is a lot more to this story the Police and District Attorney are not saying. Releasing the evidence earlier this year, is more than enough to at least charge and try the suspect, yet they haven't. Are they perhaps waiting until the suspect is closer to release date from his current conviction? Or is there more investigations going on? When you mentioned the part about Dr. Friedland perhaps hiring Gales to be the hitman, it would explain how Gales suddenly came into money. Although, I do understand how a husband doesn't know how much money his spouse has "on her". I have no idea how much my wife has, and I know she has no idea how much I have. There are lots of "Twists and Turns" to this entire story. And what sticks out most to me, is they do seem to have more than enough evidence now to charge and try Marion Gales. So why haven't they? There has to be something else going on that they are not saying. I know you well enough to know if there is any updates, or news about this horrible crime, you'll be right on top of it and let us all know too. 😉 Thank You Julie!

    • @michaelandjulie
      @michaelandjulie 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Goooooood morning, Mustang!! Yep this case is a doozie, isn't it? I continue to be bothered by this story every day, knowing that Marvin Gales is about to be released from prison next year in MY CITY, and we've had these DNA results for almost a year now and nothing has been done. I've been talking about it a lot with Michael actually, trying to figure out if there is something/anything that we can do because I can tell you this, this case sure isn't in the media, on the news, or in the papers. It's as if because the case is so old & so cold, they're just not doing anything with the new-found information, and the public is probably just completely unaware of what is about to happen if they release this guy. I'm really thinking about writing or contacting the proper authorities just to be a squeaky wheel, I guess you could say, but I don't know if that just makes me obnoxious and I would just be ignored. This really REALLY does not sit right with me at all. Trust me, if I do anything, I'll turn it into a video in hopes that other people will see it and pile on with me. I'm going to come to Dr. Friedland's defense here and just throw out my 2 cents that I just don't believe he was behind it, even to the extent of hiring a hit man. He might have been a slack-a-daisical husband from all accounts, and maybe he did want the marriage to end, but I just can't believe someone educated to such a high degree would hire a hitman who already had been arrested so many times and has a track record of getting caught, and who could possibly rat him out also. But it was definitely a theory worth investigating, and I'm so surprised it that it never came to anything. It's as if the cops were determined from Day #1 that Dr. Friedland murdered his wife, with or without the aid of a hitman, and never actually investigated said probably hitman to see if he had possibly done the crime himself independently. It's so telling that Gales is in prison today for a completely different murder. I just can't imagine what a nightmare this must have all been for Dr. Friedland. Geez. He literally had to leave town and I don't blame him, but I'm sure this has haunted him all of his life. I know true crime isn't exactly "halloween/spooky season" content, but it was important to me that both me & Michael bring to our channel the kind of content that we enjoy personally (both together & separately) this time of year. For me, Halloween is much less about costumes & pumpkins & scary movies, and much more about the darker sides of humanity, tragedy, sadness, and even haunted ghost stories which I really only find interesting because they are usually associated with a tragic, violent, or unexplained death of a human, feeding right back into the darker side of humanity. I hope that makes sense. I found 5 true crime cases from around Charlotte to bring to our channel this month, and I really really enjoyed making the videos. Learning about them was so much fun, and actually going to locations to feel the energy from the places where these things happened was really sobering. I filmed all 5 videos and then explained them to Michael, and he helped me pick which order to release them in. He said the Kim Thomas murder was the LEAST interesting (I have to disagree, this one is one of my top favorites) so it should come first and they should only get "more interesting" every week. HAHA. I took his word for it and am editing them & getting them scheduled in the order he thinks they should go up. All of that to say, if you liked this video, I think you'll like the rest even more!!! :)

    • @Mustang-6-The-Force
      @Mustang-6-The-Force 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Good morning Julie!! I think what sticks out in my mind so much, is the newly, almost a year old now, evidence that was released. Why'd they do that if they had no intention of pursuing the case any further? While I doubt its a top priority case, it's still an open case, and they are still working on it. Like I said yesterday, possibly waiting until closer to his release date before proceeding. It's giving them time to make sure they have everything thing need, no mistakes, in order to get the conviction. I'm sure Dr. Friedland's attorney knows a lot more than he's said in his news interviews as well. That's what I hope anyway. I understand your defense of Dr. Friedland, and agree with you. I doubt he really did have anything to do with the murder, but the hitman angle does also make sense. As I'm sure you're aware, many criminals have been known to be highly educated, or have high IQ's. There just seems to be something else missing in their brains that turned off the moral aspect, and maybe they don't know right from wrong. Not saying this happened here, but it sounds like at some point, they did investigate that possibility. It's very possible the Doctor did hire the hitman, and did so without the hitman even knowing who he was. Let's say he did want her dead, hiring a hitman that could "finger" him later on would always be a possibility, so he figured out a way to do it and the hitman didn't know who actually hired him. A go between, or a series of "contacts" who arranged the "hit". A couple of years ago around here, a former, retired, local police officer was arrested and charged with murder. Highly respected, high ranking, police officer. It was one of those stories when it "broke", nobody believed it could be true. We actually knew him, was technically part of our family. I actually spent time with him, while he was on the force, and after he retired. Was just one of those situations, that just couldn't be true you know? I knew this man. But as it turned out, he did do it. (He passed away in jail while waiting the trial.) To this day, I still can't believe it. To me still just mind blowing.... I'm more like you when it comes to the Halloween season than Michael it sounds like. While I don't seek out the darker side of humanity, it does fascinate me to a point. Like everything is with me, when I hear, read or see things, I almost always want to know more. Try to figure out what really happened. To think of it in ways that perhaps others hadn't thought of it. At one time I thought the TV show Criminal Minds would be a great show to watch. The cops would put themselves in the shoes of the criminals and solve the crimes that way. Maybe that's my engineering brain, work on the problem from the inside out. Of course the show, while good, didn't satisfy my desire to figure out why the crimes were committed. You can't do an hour TV show and tell the whole story. Jumped to way to many conclusions, that surprise! Always turned out to be correct. I do understand what you're saying, I hope what I said made sense. LOL So Michael says Kim's murder is the least interesting?? Oh my this is really going to be a fun month then!

      Mustang, this case really sticks in my craw, I'm just so frustrated and annoyed that nothing is being done to further justice here. Not only is the man responsible about to walk free next year, but Dr. Friedland has had to live with this hanging over his head and so many questions for all of these years. I can't tell you how peeved about this I am.. I never meant to get myself so worked up just to make a TH-cam video, but it was like the more I learned, the more hooked (and angry) I got. I certainly hope the delay is for the reasons you mentioned, making sure all their I's are dotted and their T's are crossed, but something tells me it's just not a top priority and the ball is being dropped here. If no one in the public is making an obnoxious outcry, then perhaps the squeakier wheels are getting the grease, and this one is getting forgotten. I mean I'm pleased the DNA evidence was followed up on, but why in the world then not turn around and DO something with the new findings?! I really want to push back on this case but am not entirely sure how to do that. I check google news every couple of days just hoping there's a new article out, but nothing has come out since January when the DNA evidence was released. It's like they just forgot about it.

      Well lets hope the next news that comes out isn't that the suspect has been released from prison after serving time for ANOTHER murder and is walking free now. I really do hope they are just waiting. Hopefully the lawyer is going to pounce on the DA if nothing is done. Dr. Freidland and his son deserve justice! As do the citizens of Charlotte! I wish it was something "normal" citizens could do something about, ask questions and get answers to. But I also know that's not something we as citizens can do really. Very Frustrating!

    When you say you're at work, editing and putting together your video's, you weren't kidding. I had no idea Duke University and Duke Energy were related in any way. Duke is huge even up here, although it's not our power company, but is for most of the areas surrounding us. I cracked up with your review of the ghost story. 😂 I kept thinking, "You never mentioned an Avery owning the house, where does this fit in? It started with the original builder all the way to the current situation." Makes the whole story even more creepier if ya ask me. 😉 It is a beautiful house though. Really do hope you do get to tour it sometime, would love to see the inside! This reminds me Julie, next time you two are back in Kentucky, or going there, let me know, I have a wonderful Adventure to send you on across the river into Indiana. A couple of old hotels I have a feeling you might like to explore. I visited them when I was a teenager, and the memories of that visit still to this day WOW me. They are a little over an hour away from Louisville...... 🙂

      Hi Mustang!!! Yes I've been working really hard.. or at least putting in a lot of time over the past couple of weeks. I realize that October is going to be a really busy month for us and potentially we won't have a lot of time to create content, so I'm trying to make sure I have a video to go up every day. I'm actually ahead right now, and very pleased about that! Haven't felt this kind of pressure since Memorial May HAHAHA. I didn't realize Duke Power & Energy were related either! I just leaped to the assumption that maybe they were created by the same family or business or something. I swear, it boggles the mind how little I know. The older I get, the less I know! :D LOL. And if I hadn't just come across this big mansion in search of a silly ghost story, I might have never known they were invented by the same person. Duke is huge everywhere! We had Duke Power when we lived in Florida, and Michael said that was the power company when he was living in Kentucky too. What a massive empire! I always just thought it was for North & South Carolina. I'm really proud of my state for being the originator of the power for basically the entire South East! I love a good campfire ghost story as much as anybody, but I gotta admit, I'm generally the humongous skeptic. Michael absolutely LOVES ghost stories, and I really wanted to give him the research/script to narrate on all my ghost story videos. He's really too busy to expect him to do that though, so unfortunately the channel is stuck with me narrating, and I guess my contempt will show through sometimes LOL. I enjoy the stories, I just can't get worked up enough to get properly creeped out by them! :D I'm monitoring the Duke Mansion website in hopes there is a public tour. So far have not seen one :(. I would LOVE to see the inside!!!! I think you can rent rooms for the night which might be fun to do, but I'd rather just have a guided tour and learn! VERY INTERESTED in the hotels near Kentucky!!! Urban Exploration? We would love to check them out!

      I love that you do look look at this channel is your actual job, I noticed that A LOT when you were in Colombia. And the rewards you get from doing your work means so much to you. Seeing and reading the comments others leave means a lot to me too, not that I have ANYTHING to do with it but that others feel the same way as I do about your work! And I've found other really cool channels to watch as well. I can't tell you how happy I've been after discovering you and Michael months ago!! The Duke revelation was exactly what I so enjoy! Learning new things, and you've taught me so much in the past year, sometimes I think I'm running out of space to keep it all in. You're right Duke is everywhere. When they bought the big power company up here years ago, I had no idea they had anything to do with the College. Well that they were somehow related in any way. It's no longer just the southeast, but in the Midwest too! I'm trying to imagine how much different the ghost story would have been with Michael behind the mic. As you know, I love chatting with him as much I do you, and also understand he can't put as much time into the channel as he'd like I'm sure, but I bet he would have had a blast giving his spin on it. I'm sure he's thought about it too! Well lets hope at some point either they see your channel and offer the chance to let you in or you do find something at some point. I'm guessing the history of the place is amazing. Just what you've told us so far is extremely interesting. The Resorts/Hotels in Southern Indiana have a interesting history from what I remember. I've wanted to revisit them ever since I learned about them oh so many years ago. Just this video reminded me of them, and I thought I bet you'd love to know about them. I hadn't really thought much about them until I watched your video. They really aren't really near any large Cities except Louisville if I remember correctly. Wouldn't surprise me to know that Michael has heard or even been to them to be honest.

      Hi Mustang! Wow your comment really got me in the feels, thank you so much for your kind words. Yes I do view TH-cam as it it was my job, especially now that we have hit 1,000 subscribers and I know it's going to get pushed out even more. Only in the sense that I feel like I need to take it as seriously as I can and really think about the kind of content we put out. Michael is 100% in agreement with that also and we talk about the channel often. I like to think of it as a place to outlet our creativity and also as an extra good excuse to get out & about and see new things, learn new things, and then take accountability to share those things. I've always felt a huge sense of gratefulness for the experiences that I'm able to enjoy in life and I don't take any of it for granted, but there's a part of me that accepts a responsibility along with that gratefulness to try to bring it to other people who maybe don't know about or can't get to see some of the things I've seen. Experiences really change and shape who you are and who you become. Sort of like with Colombia, I had hoped to "debunk" any myths people might have about the country, people who had never traveled there and never known anyone from there, people who only ever heard of the country through maybe the mainstream media, etc. I don't take it lightly and I hope this channel will always be a place of positivity, learning, and sharing. I truly, truly cannot tell you enough how much both of us appreciate the level of kindness you extend to us and our content and your constant support because it reminds us that this channel is fun and games, but so much more on top of that, and this is really my happy place. Michael stays so busy with his real job and the gym and "the other things" going on, and he puts as much effort into the channel as he has time and energy to. He asks me constantly about what's going on today, what are people saying, what video got posted every day, etc, and I always try to point out to him when there's comments he needs to see or reply to. He's not totally out of the loop! He does wish he had the amount of time I have to invest in it of course. He has a few video ideas for the month of October that he is doing all by himself, I don't really even know exactly what they are yet. He's been working hard on some of those videos mostly without my help, so I'll probably be watching them about the same time you are! He also has big ideas for things he'd like to do on our channel down the road, once we're able to get more situation in a more permanent type of house and he can set things up exactly the way he wants them. I'm so excited for what this channel can continue to be. It really feels like we've hit our stride and it's become the perfect spot for sharing and conversation and you are tops on that list!!! :D :D :D :D :D

      Wow now I'm really blushing, you gave me way to much credit here Julie, I'm just a fan like everyone else. I just talk too much sometimes. 😂 But I do obviously enjoy talking, sharing, learning and watching everything we've done and taught each other. I've always been the type of person who takes everything I see, hear, read with a "grain of salt" so to speak. One of the reasons I can hardly stand to watch or listen to "news" stories anymore. I want to know more, learn if what I'm seeing is the whole truth. What I found in your channel especially is someone who feels the same way, you are that type of person as well. You ask for ideas for the channel, a lot. I understand why. You honestly do want people to give you ideas, places to go, look into, explore, that you may not have thought about yourself. Not many channels out here can or are willing to do that. Your time with Mari and Marshall, was very eye opening to me. While I don't think badly of any other countries, I also don't know a whole lot about them either. But I do now. Thanks to you and your work. Thank You for that my friend! I'm honestly not surprised by anything you wrote here about about Michael. I know he enjoys the channel as well, and I've watched him "grow" with the channel this summer. The White Shirt video was NOT the type of video her would have a done a year ago. Sure he would have still done his "review video" but not like this one was. He put a lot more effort and had a lot more fun doing this one, as he did in the movie review as well. Am I surprised he's working on other videos for later on? Nope, not at all. He really does have fun with them. Trust me, I get that now. I'm the same way. It's fun and I spend more time researching and talking than I should, because the video is just sitting there waiting to be finished and posted. 🙃 Thank You Julie and to Michael as well of course, you have no idea how much your words mean to me. I'm very excited to continue to watch your channel grow and become what it surely is becoming!

      Nonsense, there's no such thing as "talking too much!" LOL! I look forward every morning when I'm making my coffee to hopping on the laptop to see what Mustang has to say. I don't even bother checking your comments on my phone anymore because I know I'll just be dying to respond back to you and it's just impossible to type this much on a phone!! :D. HAHA. I never thought our little TH-cam channel would turn into actual real friendships like this one, I think it was always my hope to connect with like-minded people, but I never thought there would be someone like you who we chat with every single day. We've shouted you out in a few upcoming videos just to see if you're paying attention!! :D. We are both so much like you when it comes to the news and just wanting to close our ears to the BS and the white noise and try to learn the truth ourselves and bring it to the channel as best as we can. Speaking of asking for ideas for the channel, we are currently in the middle of a situation where we have TOO MANY ideas and not enough time to bring them all to life!!! :D. It's the most wonderful time of the year, after all! :). But I'm thinking maybe that will be our first TH-cam short, when I have time to make one. Either a short asking for video ideas or maybe open the door for questions & answers or something. We have not forgotten that we need to celebrate 1,000 subscribers, we just haven't had the time to slow down and do it right, and we don't want it to feel rushed or knee jerky. I showed your comment to Michael last night and I wish you could have seen the beamy smile that you put on his face. He really took his time with the Teeshirt video and was hoping it would be well received. He truly got a kick out of your compliments. You're right, a year ago, he wasn't doing anything like that. He really didn't know how to do anything when we first started our channel, what I mean by that is he had never really watched TH-cam before we started our channel. He only really watched interviews, podcasts, and music videos, but he didn't even know small creators doing stuff like we are doing existed. I have been watching TH-cam for YEARS, probably almost a decade at this point, so I kind of had a vision what I would like for us to do. He really "got it" when I started showing him other vloggers that I liked to watch. One of his favorites is Adam the Woo haha, not sure if you've ever heard of him or watched him, but I watched a lot of Adam the Woo back in the day when he was traveling around in a van having the most random adventures. Michael really liked his style and for the longest time, he would come home from the gym with his video clips he had taken and tell me that he tried to talk to the camera like Adam the Woo does LOL LOL LOL. I think it was so cute but it really helped Michael figure out how to talk to the phone and be comfortable on camera. It's really awkward sometimes talking to a phone knowing there is no one within earshot, or knowing that other people around are looking at you funny!! I always take a deep breath before I push the red circle and remind myself I'm just hanging out doing something fun and telling my friend Mustang all about it LOL. Then it gets easy!! :D

      Good morning, Mustang!!!!!!!! Yes I spent a LOT LOT LOT LOT LOT of time over the past week & a half of September trying to get videos researched and filmed for the month of October. I hope it shows!! I felt like a fire was lit under my @$$ because we have so many things coming up in the month of October that we will have to address, both with me and with some other things that we're keeping off camera, and I know I may have limited or no time to work on creating new content for our channel. It was easy to film multiple videos in one day and now I have tons & tons of footage I can work on from home. Kind of like how I did Memorial May. I'm almost done filming videos for October. I know you like to try to figure out timelines HAHA. I have a general idea what order they're going to get uploaded in but it won't necessarily be in chronological order, just whatever order I can get them done. It's going to be a really busy fall but I'm determined to keep the daily content uploading going as long as it's physically possible. I hope you enjoy the series of graveyards!! I didn't realize there were sooo many interesting cemeteries in Charlotte, but doing research was so much fun and I enjoyed every minute of it!!

      Good Morning Julie!!! Oh yes it really does show, and just listening to your voice over shows you've done a lot of research.. It also shows you're thinking of your subscribers and wanting to keep us all entertained while "life" continues to go on for you, Michael and your families. Can't speak for all of us, but I'm sure several us would agree, we really appreciate the time and effort you both put into this wonderful channel. (Yeah I know who does most of the work, but Michael is so supportive and does his part too you know! Not to mention the real Star! 🐕😉) And the best part, you're enjoying do this and it shows so much Julie!! Yes I'm always trying to figure out the timeline, and understand, it gets jumbled up from time to time. I also respect and understand how and why that happens. Also know what's coming up for you and hope you know I'm so pulling for you and Michael both my friend!!!!! As always, looking forward to the series! You know me well enough by now that I love to learn about new things and places. So I can't wait to see them!

      You know, I"m still trying to think of ways to make a video of Abra from her point of view. We considered strapping the Go Pro on her head for a day, but you know she wouldn't tolerate that, plus the Go Pro is KAPUT now (still no word back from GoPro dot com). She truly is a little ham, our little star, I think it would be so fun to make a whole video just about her. Just haven't figured out how to film that yet, anything I've tried using my phone just comes out kinda sea sick HAHA. We would like to continue to be daily content creators as long as that is feasibly possible. At some point, we should probably transition over into "quality" instead of "quantity," but I have no idea what that would even mean or look like. We're just thoroughly enjoying holding our shaky little iPhones so much and shooting things on the fly and I love it that way. It's so effortless & easy to grab a video when the mood strikes instead of having to pre-plan. I'm enjoying that any work that goes into a video pre-planning is research based instead of planning the actual shots & footage, and I wonder if maybe our channel could always be just that. I'm overthinking this aren't I LOL. I'm officially *almost** a full month ahead in videos, thanks to a few long hot days "out in the field" over the past week. Not quite a full month, but close. That will give us time to take days/weeks off during this month and next if we end up having to or needing to, and still have videos to go live every day, and of course we will still be in the comments section daily!! But we won't have to worry about filming content, and editing can be done from anywhere. I think you will enjoy the video series I have coming out. There's 5 true crime stories, 5 cemetery explorations, and 5 ghost stories coming out from me alone, plus Michael & I are working on a few "quick & easy" type videos together, and he has his videos he's doing independently of me. We are REALLY excited for October, spooky season, fall, Halloween, it's our favorite time of year and we each wanted to bring to the channel exactly what "spooky season" means to each of us. In my case, it was true crime, the "dark sides of humanity," cemeteries, murders, graveyards, etc. For him it was more about his favorite literary hobbies and movies and spooky stories. I think it will blend together to be a nice mix! After living on the hot equator for the past 2.5 years, we got a little jazzed up for the good fall weather and what we each think of as "halloween" content and we're SOOOO excited to be sharing it now!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D

    • @Mustang-6-The-Force

      Yep you are over thinking this. LOL I love how each new video may or may not be something different. I've told you more than once, I love the "on-the-fly" videos. We get to see something so real and unplanned. When you're just talking to each other about whatever, it's just so real! It's like sitting down with friends and chatting about whatever comes up. Then of course the planned video's you put so much effort into, it comes out so very well. You're like me, you don't want to leave any stone uncovered. You keep looking for more information to tell the story and if it's out there, you'll find it. (Linking the two news story video's to todays mystery video for example.) When the GoPro situation gets resolved, 😞 hopefully you can figure out a way to have Abra carry the camera around for awhile. I'm sure there are harnesses made for our furry friends that hold the cameras. Maybe start training her to wear one when she goes on her Adventures so that it becomes "normal" to her and see if something like that works? Something to think about at least. It would something different anyway. I keep hoping someday there is an unplanned video about how your luggage from Colombia has suddenly shown up. 🤣 Well we all knew October was going to be a special month as you've told us how much this season is your favorite. Being back home closer to the actual Fall weather is just going to make it even more special. Lets face it, seeing you on the beach during Halloween would just be a bit "different". LOL (Not that anyone would complain of course. 😉) I'm still thinking about todays video and will for days to come trust me. So Very much looking forward the rest of this series!! Edit: Okay Sorry it took me awhile to check on this because we went Dress Shopping. Nurses Gala at the Country Club in town this weekend, we had to go out of town to find a dress and shoes. (We're not lucky enough to have a local seamstress to make a dresses like some people we know. 😉😂 Wink Wink.) Stacey is going to look amazing as usual in her new little black dress. ☺🥰 Anyway, I looked up GoPro Dog harnesses, and of course even GoPro makes them!! Found several videos here of people reviewing them, showing how they work and so on. The GoPro version is called "Fetch." When you have a few minutes, you and Michael check them out. I bet if Abs gets used to wearing the harness, you'll be giving us the Point of view videos soon!! 😀 Assuming GoPro comes through and replaces your camera soon. LOL Just imagine watching Abra chasing the ball in slow motion! 🥰

      I have certainly learned to link my sources! I'm surprised how often someone has come to me and told me that I got something factually wrong over the couple of years we have been doing TH-cam. I'm always open to criticism and correction, of course, I'm here because I want to learn just as much as I want to share. But generally when I ask questions or tell the commenter that I'd love to be corrected where I'm wrong, I never hear from them again! :D. LOL. I put the links in the description box ALWAYS when it's relevant now, just to prove that I'm not over here making things up, but it doesn't seem to stop people from telling me I'm wrong and then disappearing LOL The lost luggage is an ongoing saga and we will probably end up posting a story time video if there is ever a resolution! What a mess!! :D. LOL Oh that is SO cool that Go Pro makes a harness for little doggies!!!!! wow!!!! I have seen some footage of dogs wearing cameras before, but always thought it was something their owner had to rig up to carry the camera. Had no idea Go Pro actually made a mount like that!!! I wonder if her little tiny head could support the weight, can you just imagine how much she would be grumped out about having to carry the camera!!! LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL. I can just see her mad little face now HAHAHAHAHAH!!!!! Maybe if I tell her Mustang said she has to wear it because it's a CROWN and she is a QUEEN, maybe then she would tolerate it!!! :D. HAHA. I am cracking myself up over here. It's 8:15 and Abra is still sound asleep. She is the laziest dog I've ever met in my life HAHA

    Maybe you should suggest to them what cheese options for the omelet they should offer if you ever make another visit there. The restaurant was mostly empty probably because of bad reviews. Is this the Grills Seafood/Tiki bar off of US1 close to Pineda Causeway? I see that place all the time when i drive on US1 to my house and always wander about that place is good to eat?

      Hi there! Yes this is the location off US-1 near Pineda. We didn't normally look at reviews before going out to brunch around town simply because we were on a mission to try every restaurant (and almost succeeded!). This restaurant definitely deserves any bad reviews it gets. There were no cheese options to add to an omelet; and while we would probably never eat there again, I would absolutely make suggestions in the future if we did for cheese 😂. It's a shame because the restaurant itself is really cute & very nice inside! But the food is just not that great. We definitely don't recommend. ❤️❤️❤️

      We would love to try out a new restaurant!! Unfortunately, we moved away from Florida over the summer, but we do hope to be back one day!! We will definitely put Ford's Garage on the list if we're ever back in the area!! Thank you for the recommendation!! :)

    Melbourne resident here: This was tastefully and respectfully done, good job. It's brain bending that had he lived, he'd be 81 this December - and ALL his living contemporaries of the 60's are in their 80's. The reason John Tice wanted to have him interred here: 💰💰 Look these up: - Former West Melbourne Deputy Mayor John Tice had his charges formally dropped as part of the plea deal, but still had to pay back the $7,000. - And: MELBOURNE - John Tice is out as the executive director of the Liberty Bell Memorial Museum after disagreements arose over a trip to New York City and his Brevard Hall of Fame.

      Hi there Thomas! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video so much. Hard to believe so many legends are gone now, and hard to picture the ones who were "too fast to live, too young to die" as they would have been. I can't imagine Jim at 81 -- he will be 27 years old for eternity. I had no idea about the situation with former Deputy Mayor John Tice... wow. I'm very surprised that didn't pop up when I was doing research for this video. I would definitely have included that information. Thank you for telling me. What a scam, it's a good thing he has been removed and perhaps the rumors about relocating Jim Morrison's body can finally die out and he can rest in peace. Thank you for your thoughtful comment ❤️🤍💙

    Aren’t you living in North Carolina that was hit by a devastating hurricane recently? And here you are talking about…..this?? Your level of shallowness left me speechles

    • @michaelandjulie
      @michaelandjulie 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hello there Blue Tuesday. This particular video was filmed almost 3 weeks ago, when we first moved back to North Carolina from South America and long before anyone knew a devastating hurricane was headed for North Carolina. As daily content creators, we generally film things in advance and schedule things out of order, and the videos are not reflective of what we are doing in real time. We have chosen not to film any of the hurricane damage in NC or talk about it on our channel because we do not feel right exploiting the situation that other people have suffered to use it for content. We believe that would be shallow. We are very fortunate and grateful that our families have not suffered any major damage. I hope this clears things up for you. We are far from shallow people, but we are not comfortable exploiting the situation that has devastated the lives of other people for our own content.

    Have to be honest here, I had no clue what show you were talking about. "The Bear", completely new to me. (Is this what working 3rd shift for decades does to a person?? LOL) I do know who Jeremy Allen White is though, as I did watch Shameless..... eventually. 🤓 We do have Hulu, but I don't think I've ever used it. 🙃 So once again you're teaching me. 😂 The Buck Mason you can tell is high quality, really doesn't look like a T-Shirt to be honest. Interesting review. Little off topic, does this mean your luggage still hasn't shown up? Pretty cool video Michael!

    • @michaelandjulie
      @michaelandjulie 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Exactly Rocky! Our luggage STILL hasnt showed up. That gave me an excuse to do this video. And you're right, totally off topic from our normal content but I thought it might be interesting since I've been seeing so much online about trying to find the brand of T's these guys are wearing on that show. I have to be honest, I haven't seen it either but has seen Shameless and then these articles from GQ, etc., so thought I would give it a shot. Subsequently, I have returned the other three shirts and ordered two more of the Buck Mason Field Cotton ones. Love them! Thank you for the opinion good sir!

      Oh wow, the airline better do a lot more than just say they are sorry once this is resolved. My luggage was lost once, Florida to Indiana, put on the wrong plane in Atlanta they said, but I did get it like two three days later. I guess I just don't understand how this can still be happening. At least it gives you the excuse to buy new clothes though, especially since most of your belongings are still in Florida. Will say the buck Mason shirts are nice looking!

    Really nice to meet Glinda! Always fun when we can put a "face" to the name, and you know how love southern ladies, considering my grandmother, great grandmother, aunts are southern ladies. 🥰 Was excited to see you and she did this review. Like you both, was a fan of the first one, and like you Michael, opened my eyes to Tim Burton films. Wasn't thrilled to see there was a sequel to the first one but curious about it. Like you and Julie, we're not big movie theatre people, I think we've seen one movie since 2020, and to be honest, I don't even remember which one it was. Very rarely do we see a movie that we say, "We have to go see that." The last time that happened was "Bohemian Rhapsody" which we did love. Michael Keaton's Beetlejuice character was the best part of the original of course, so the only reason I'd consider this one, but still not a "Must See" in my eyes. IMDB gives it a 7.0 BTW. Great review, best part was hearing your mom agreeing with you and I think I may watch it if it appears on Max. Thank you Both!

    • @michaelandjulie
      @michaelandjulie 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hey Rocky! Thank you as always buddy. Haha, yes, I get you. It's always nice to put a name with a face. Mom was excited to be on the video and was initially excited to see the movie too, having thought the first one was hilarious. She has always been an encouraging voice to let my weird out. I grew up loving things that should have scared children. More out of interest rather than anything else. I was reading books on ghosts, particularly poltergeists, when I was in elementary school because I wanted to know what they "really" were, lol. And she trusted me to watch and read things that were outsode of my age just because I would get fascinated with something fantastical. So this was a special moment with her, having a second Beetlejuice come out when I knew that I was like 6 when the first came out and just kind of coming into my own personality and seeing where I "fit" in the world. Yes, completely agree that you should wait until it comes out on Max. Do NOT spend your money on this. And of course, Bohemian Rhapsody was amazing. We saw that one twice in theaters alone. Thank you again! See you in another one.

      Hi Michael! I think that was really awesome that your mom was excited to be in the video and to see the movie. My mother is going to be in one of my videos coming up, but she wont be talking much at all. We went to our local Arboretum with my little sister and when I mentioned I might film some of it for a video idea, she said, "Oh, well okay." The video is taking much longer than I originally thought, you'll see why once it finally is posted. LOL Just think it's so cool that our families are showing up from time to time. See you Soon Buddy!!

      Good morning Mustang!! Can you believe little ham is 4 years old already?? Seems just like yesterday she was my tiny baby. She's just growing up so fast & sometimes I feel like time is slipping away. She is just the most perfect dog there ever was, although sometimes it's hard to believe she's a dog 🤣. She's such a little human!! 😂🤣 I hope you enjoy our Charlotte content!! I'm all jazzed up for October content and have been going out a ton the last few days to get a jumpstart on it. Our plan is to upload a video every day in the month of October, although we are definitely done "daily vlogging" for the foreseeable future. Michael has some cool ideas he's working on too. I hope you enjoy what we post!! We're definitely trying to bring to our channel what October/Halloween/Spooky Season means to us and I'm super pumped about it!!! 👻🎃

      Good Morning Julie!! Although by the time I "reply" it's going to be the afternoon I think. LOL Time flies by doesn't it? I have to agree with you, Abra is so well behaved, it's amazing she's really a little furball. And she does think she's human, you can just tell. I loved watching her sitting in the back of the car, just looking around, enjoying the view. I think she's glad to be home too. She enjoyed her Adventures in South America of course, but there no place like home. Still can't get over how she's always smiling too. So much love in her furry face. 🥰 Like I said before, I've never really spent much time in North Carolina, and never been to Charlotte. Although over the years have seen the area on TV with the Racing you hate, college basketball, and Football. (My team played in Charlotte yesterday as a matter of fact, sorry but the Bengals beat the Panthers.😊) So it's going to be really fun getting to see the city and area from you and Michael. Seeing the things and places I've never seen I'm sure. (Can't see either one of you going to the NASCAR Hall of Fame right? 🤣) PLUS I know how excited you are about the season we're entering, and I just know you're going to do a fantastic job and it's going to be very fun to see!!! 👻🎃

    I visited the Wasa (aka Vasa) in the early 1970s (over 50 years ago!) while it was still being chemically treated. It was basically a dark hulk being sprayed with chemicals. Many pieces of the ship were placed in chemical baths in surrounding exhibits. Seeing it put back together is dramatic. Loved your video - especially the close-ups of the brightly colored model. Nicely done!!

      Hi there!! I'm so pleased that you enjoyed the video so much. Thank you for taking the time to watch and leave such a nice comment!! I truly enjoyed this trip to the Vasa and learning all about it. We have a similar situation here in the US, a submarine called the Hunley that was in the water for over 100 years that was pulled up and slowly preserved so that it could be lifted out of the water. It's been so cool to watch that over the years. 💙💛

    The building at 1310 S. Harbor City Blvd. that says "Birthplace of Jim Morrison" is not the hospital where Morrison was born. He was born next door before that building was erected.

    • @michaelandjulie
      @michaelandjulie 17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi there Jay! Yes if you watched the video, I did explain that the building across the street (which I filmed extensively) that you are talking about, is the hospital where Jim Morrison was born. It's a wound care clinic today so I did not try to go inside or risk violating anyone's privacy. There's no signage on that building to honor Jim, though. I appreciate that the building next door has such a big sign to honor the fact that he was born nearby. Hope that clears up the confusion & hope you enjoyed the vide! 🎸🤘🏻🎶

LOL Links, always, but usually want bacon if I have the choice. ☺ Yep Please stay away from the Death Wish Blueberry coffee. Enough said. Really did enjoy your Colombia Adventure, going to miss Mari and Marshall too, but so glad you're back "home". Taking me awhile, but I'm catching up you two!! And agree, bacon is needed with everything!! 😅 I hope the job search & hunt is going well for you!! I know you've been so busy lately and my fingers are crossed for you & your family, always! The perfect thing is always just right around the corner!! We are missing Marshall & Mari very much also! They are currently out West in the U.S. celebrating their birthday month of September on an extended motorcycle ride and doing a lot of rock climbing also. I really love the Sausage McMuffin with cheese. 🙂 And of course a lot of people like the sausage biscuits too. LOL I hope Maybe Mari is showing some of their trip out west on her IG, if I can figure IG out, LOL. Bet they have having a lot of fun. I really do hope to see the Grand Canyon sometime, but I've never been any farther west than Texarkana Texas, and only went there to say I've been in Texas. Oh right, sausage sandwiches, I forgot some people like those 😅. I haven't had a breakfast sandwich in so long I forgot they existed! Links for the win!! I'm sure Mari will share her out West adventures on her Instagram!! She is months & months behind sharing content though. She doesn't post regularly or in the moment, she just shares when she has time. Currently I think she is still sharing their adventures in Vietnam, and that was over 6 months ago at this point. She & Marshall lived in Asia for many months, and then Canada for one month, before we all moved together to Colombia. So what she's posting is from earlier in 2024. But still super interesting content!! They have been all over the world!!!
