    any equivilent that is unique to a material? Materialinstances seem to only allow color, I made a material that jitters like PS1 graphics for cheap flame effects (spiky shape made wavy) and want the parameter (a single number 5-20) different for different ships This works as a medium solution where it applies to every ship and just isnt too noticable on the enemy ships to be a problem

    Hello thanks for this usefull tuto! Currently making an diorama isometric diorama, your technic works well with walls but I'm facing a problem with glass shader wich is not using opacity mask in his shader becuause I'm forced to use transluescent blending mode. Any advice or tips? Kinda new on UE5. Many thanks in advance!

    Nice tutorial, but you must use input system to make code more readable. P.S. 4:27 - Why do you use "Break Rotator" node? Just use split struct pin!

    • @ascendantdawn
      @ascendantdawn หลายเดือนก่อน

      I sort of prefer break rotator etc for visibility. Yeah input system is good but it takes a bit of time to set up.

    keep up the great work! can anyone help me find a video covering Procedural Content Generation with map seeds where every time you play a new game its a new world I am pulling my hair hair and I saw that you have this in your game!

    • @ascendantdawn
      @ascendantdawn 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My game isn't procedurally generated apart from the cities. Procedural generation in terms of landscape etc is generally hard in unreal.

    You just making it harder with your quick mouse moves around and talking 1000 word in a sec. At least put the mic lil bit away from your mouth its so annoying.

    you sir, may have just given me a solution. I need to rewrite a sub-pixel value by sampling a value based on an offset gradient. as a way to pixelate my color values. So far I couldn't find native functions that did this.

    What's an example from a game that this would be used for? I imagine if it was set to something that detected loot crates and automatically highlighted them with a material that was gold with opacity or enemy player in red on detection or something. Is that a reasonable assumption?

    • @ascendantdawn
      @ascendantdawn 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There's the example from my game and since bannerlord does something nearly identical that'd count too.

    How large is this map in Km ?

    • @ascendantdawn
      @ascendantdawn 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's not really possible to state a km measurement because it's a map not to unreal engine's scale. Sort of like how mount and blade doesn't have a scale for its maps. Though considering the diversity of biomes and time to traverse if you wanted a real life equivalent it would be several thousand by several thousand kms.

    Doing it with Enhanced Input System takes like 15 minutes at most and doesn't require as much repetitive actions. Try that, it's really cool. You probably know how to do that, if not, I can explain. Would be cool if you made another tutorial on that for people

  • @kaywinters1835

    is there a way to do this the other way round? Like when you walk towards nothing, that when you get closer the wall appears?

      Can't remember exactly what I did in the tutorial but using a 1-x somewhere would probably do that.

    Dude, its great! But could you do one that resembles the controls of Dota 2? (Drag with middle mouse, no rotation, just drag and maybe even edge pan)

    • @ascendantdawn
      @ascendantdawn ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't played dota 2 so I wouldn't be able to get the controls right. Though you can probably use this tutorial and ones made by other people to figure out how to do that by essentially remapping the controls.
