0:38 if you do make a clock insert tutorial v2 i think you should include a tool to help with scaling the image bc currently if you want to rescale the image you need to go through the process of making the inserts all over again im thinking maybe like a google drawing with the clock insert slightly transparent (so you can easily line up the image the way you want to)

For learning csp? I'd recommend learning cases from an alg sheet (there's a bunch on the sq1 discord server) and then using squanmate to drill the cases one by one. I'll maybe make a more in depth video covering csp and how to approach learning it soon.

Is anyone else having the problem that with the inserts, it turns a lot slower?
Yeah, generally inserts will slow down the puzzle a little bit, however you can make the turning faster by enlarging holes that the pins go through to ensure that the pins don't rub against the paper.
The pins are fine, it's just the dials that turn slower
@@sailE_gnohC yes, but the pins rotate when you turn the dials, and if the holes for the pins are too small, the pins will rub against the hole when you turn the dials

Why didn't you vapor polished the ball core one right away? Could it ruin something?
The ballcore rs3m v5 has UV coating , so it would be redundant and also very damaging to vapor polish it.

Will the cube polish wear off eventually??
Nope! When the acetone vapor polishes the cube, the plastic itself melts and hardens, so the polish is permanent.

I would not recommend vapor polishing a uv coated cube, as it would most likely destroy the finish and leave a bad texture.

Yes, in fact that's actually what I used here.

UV coating feels smoother, and I think I prefer it a little more to vapor polishing, but I like the vapor polished modded standard rs3m v5 better than the stock ballcore because the standard has stronger magnets.
What about for big cubes?

This worked out very nice for me and the cube still turns well. The coating is extremely similar to pvc coating or uv coating. I would be extra careful when handling the cube while it is still soft. Also do this in a well ventilated room breathe too much acetone and you will pass out. Do this with a new cube because the vapor polishing shows all the imperfections
How long should i wait before doing another side??
DISCLAIMER: I didn't mention this in the video, but acetone is a flammable substance, and the vapors that it gives off could be harmful if you breathe it in for too long. If you do end up vapor polishing a cube, I'd suggest doing it outdoors or in a well ventilated area with a mask on, away from any open flames. As long as you're careful and use common sense, acetone is pretty safe to work with; just make sure to wash it off of skin thoroughly after use, as prolonged contact can cause irritation.
How long should I let the cube rest?
I'd say about 10ish minutes, though you can do a little longer to be on the safe side.
What if you vapour polished a cube *after* the matte plastic has become glossy? Would it be even better? 🤔
No, all that happens is that it strips away the top layer it’d be the samw

I'm so afraid of handling acetone, could a spark be enough to ignite it?
I know that acetone is flammable, but I also know that it's commonly used as nail polish remover (which is what I actually used), so as long as you're careful, you should be fine. I probably should've put a disclaimer in the video, but I'd recommend either vapor polishing outside or in a well ventilated area with a face mask on.
A spark shouldn't be enough to ignite it (like from static electricity), but you shouldn't go using acetone anywhere near an open flame.
