Welcome to the Stay Unqualified Podcast. We’re Jon and Anam and we’re excited to have you join us in our conversations as we navigate through relatable and difficult topics, while relating our experiences to God’s word.
When God Says, “Consider Your Ways”
This year, we’re focusing on building God’s temple. In the book of Haggai, the Israelites were discouraged and ended up building up their own houses while God’s temple remained in ruins. How was God supposed to dwell with them? Protect them? And how were they supposed to atone for their sins? It just wasn’t happening.
Haggai’s message resonates with us. What are we doing that doesn’t allow God to dwell within us? Are we too busy focusing on things that God has given us, rather than focusing on Him? Are we looking for purpose in our relationships, our careers, our degrees, rather than just being with Him? Are we open to God dwelling in the depths of our hearts and being our portion, regardless of whatever situation we’re in?
Bible Passage:
“Now, therefore, thus says the Lord of hosts: Consider your ways. You have sown much, and harvested little. You eat, but you never have enough; you drink, but you never have your fill. You clothe yourselves, but no one is warm. And he who earns wages does so to put them into a bag with holes.’” Haggai 1:5-6 (ESV)

The Best Christmas Gift Ever
มุมมอง 34หลายเดือนก่อน
This Christmas, we’re hitting pause on the all the holiday chaos to talk about what really matters-the reason we celebrate it in the first place. It’s easy to get caught up in gifts, parties, and Insta-worthy moments, but let’s be real: Christmas is about so much more. God gave us the ultimate gift in Jesus Christ, but how often do we actually stop to think about that? Let’s take a moment to re...
Be Still
มุมมอง 94หลายเดือนก่อน
We hear “Be Still” a lot! But what does it really mean to truly…be…still? We go into Mark 4 where Jesus calms the storm and then asks the disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” It’s hard to be still when we don’t trust who God says He is and His promises. We talk about unbelief and what that does to us when we’re going through storms in our own lives. How can we start t...

This is good man. Thanks for that insight
Excellent discussion. God knows your heart. He loves and is with you due to his deep love for you. Your heart is akin to the heart of God.
Thank you for the encouragement!!! 🥰
Theres a song that my family would sing in family worship called “be still and know that I am God” there’s like three verses (I can teach yall one day if you want 😀) . But I really appreciate this topic specifically because it prompted to read Mark 4 again. The past few months have felt like an emotional roller coaster of anxiety, calm and sadness with so much negative world news. Calm-knowing I have hope because Jesus is coming soon. Anxiety- not knowing exactly how or when to adjust future plans according to Gods will. Sadness- not knowing if people I care about will be saved. The anxiety I feel/felt is similar to the disciples asking Jesus “do you not care if we perish?”. But his response in verse 40 puts into perspective that I should fight to not be fearful by strengthening my faith. Especially considering that unlike the disciples, I have access about what to expect (Revelation etc.) and can trust that the chaos on earth (which is getting more ghetto by the minute🥴) is moving closer to an expiration date and can be swapped for heaven. Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much!!! 🙂 and that was super insightful! Really glad this is helping to just keep getting closer to God and not allow fear or discouragement to get in the way. It’s necessary to acknowledge the emotions we’re feeling but we can’t allow them to separate or distance us from God! God will keep pursuing us though, we can rely on Him to do that.
Well lookie here, she made a straight up fact. Subscribed ❤❤
Counterpoint, maybe "the pain" comes from the realization of following fictional, characters from thousands of years ago aren't the best moral compass
THIS is beautiful. I’m stepping into this, which for me is a bit hard as a man.
You’re not alone bro🙏🏽 I still have my days where I struggle with this but the important thing to remember is you have other in this world to help you in those moments💪🏽 I’ll send a prayer out for you honestly, keep at it bro!🙏🏽
Keep your religion in the home.
He doesn’t though . Why would he just want good for you when ppl suffer & loved ones die so does he care about them or what ?
Great message! Just went through that last year with God. He's calling on his children to learn to depend on him MORE and depend on ourselves LESS. It's difficult, but definitely a MUST! It's testing of complete TRUST. Keep shining and sharing! 🌟
Thank you so much! Definitely feels nice that we’re not alone on this journey towards God! 🙏🏽
Amen
is kanthonymusic the beatmaker?
Thank you for having.
GOD don't need us, we need GOD
Amen!!🙌🏾
Well said!!! Amen!
New subbie
Thank you!!🙏🏽
Whatt a fellow Belieber!!!! Justin Bieber is my Mansss 😭. I agree , some of his songs, content wise aren’t the best. But I do think (imo) he’s one of the the most down to earth celebrities who reflects Christian values in his music and actively tries to remain grounded. In My younger years I had to make the choice to remove some songs by Tory Lanez from my playlist. The beats and his voice might’ve been smooth but the lyrics? A SET UP for foolishness 😂
We’ll always be beliebers deep down🫶🏽 lol but yessss!!! Certain artists and musicians, we definitely had to let go of. It was hard though but you’re right, it’s just foolishness.
Can you demonstrate satan exists? If not, why would you believe things you cannot demonstrate are true? Just because someone tells you? Just because a book says so? Really?
❤
This has impacted me positively
Super grateful!🙏🏽🙏🏽
Awesome!
Acknowledge that there are no gods and you will be free.
When we don't have community, we try to insert ourselves or make some type of community. We want to belong to something. This is profound in a few different ways. Very cool😊
Absolutely, we can sometimes get swept up by counterfeits, when we’re really looking for something more authentic and whole. And we definitely appreciate the encouragement! 😊
This is really important: escapism is often leading us to what we need
It’ll definitely point out what we really need! It’s always good to analyze why we even gravitate towards certain things.
Soon to be NY Best selling author Natasha Richards!
honestly pray y'all get the attention yall deserve. Keep up the work and dont let give up!!
Thank you! We appreciate the prayers and encouragement 🙏🏽
Truth my brother!
Imagine how surprised I was when I learned God coaches us through reps and sets!! Love that He is interested in every detail of our lives!! Thank you for putting this out ❤❤
We’re still learning to entrust our entirety to God, and it’s honestly a journey of deconstructing old understandings and being blessed by understanding him truly 🙌🏾
Love this! True Christian spirituality is holistic, incorporating the spiritual, mental/emotional, and physical. God overall plan and will for us is to excel in and though him in all of these areas as one. Great discussions brothers, blessings!
Thank you so much bro 🙏🏽🙌🏾 definitely giving the credit to God
This was so sweet 🫶🫶thank you guys for sharing your knowledge with us 🙏
People forgot the point of marriage. It is to make civilization stable, because community starts from the family unit. Without strong parents and family bonds there is no society. When you marry someone you've chosen to merge them with your family. Your partner IS your family as much as your brother, sister, child, mom and dad. Without that, we have nothing.
Great news, keep it going ❤
These two are so chill and relatable. Thanks for sharing the wisdom!
Thank you so much ☺️ we really appreciate the support!🙏🏽
Happy 3 years Anniversary 😍❤
Thank you!!🥹💕
Amen!
🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Yes !!! This is wonderful!
Place Jesus first and hold on
Amazing job, God bless you ❤
WOW.
Not just for you 😅… literally in tears needed to hear that 🙏🏽
PREACH!
That's not true fyi 35% of the population in Philippines is Christians and 55% is Catholics c'mon don't use this for clout , if you are trying to get more views pls don't used bible for this non sense
The Philippines is a 95% Christian country the other 5% are Muslim and live in a small area in the south……. Just leave them alone they know who god is lmfao half their city are Christian and they get along well they just have there own religion. You make it sound like you went to the Middle East or something 😅. They don’t even stone people in the Philippines. This is like if a black guy say he went to Atlanta city and said he was threatened if he start saying black lives matter the kkk was gonna come to his house and shoot him.
Fear no evil ..
Amen
