Dank LIRR on the PRR
So here is a showcasing of my AI specific route building techniques. I put way more effor into WSY than intended, but the quality falls after leaving NYP. The OG track work in sunny side yard though awkward, works and with a few adjustments, LIRR to Jamaica is possible. Track distance is 100% authentic, build is 100% not. Reminds me of MSTS routes made around 2003.
Side note, I've been practicing with AI train yard switching using some of those advanced shunting features and they may appear in the next video so stay tuned.

Done with my PRR updates. A little bit of scenery will be added here and there but as of now, track work is finished. A big shout out to captain82 on trainsim for rebuilding the track around the D.C. area. No promises but Acela Activity is next.

A small but needed change on the PRR with scenery to follow suite. Holly Interlocking to Chester is terrible and needed a redo for years. Finished the "MARC Activity" for those of you who waited so paitently. The real answer is I got a lot to fix when it comes to the Maryland portion of the PRR. Re-doing Edgwood took around 4 hours so you can imagine how long Baltimore is going to take. My 5 day project that I planned 5 months ago..... This area sucked to redo because track, roads and scenery had to be torn up and redone from Trenton to MP 61. The base PRR used curves that were only good for 50mph. In real life these are built for 110/100mph. While not 100%, track grades had to scale with the incline to Morrisville yard while connecting to the existing track along the Northeas...

OR just keeps on giving, so enjoy a complete trip from NYP to NYP with cringe commentary sprinkled around. This activity contains a mix of loose consists and 54 active AI trains. The activity uses the 2016 timetable for both AMTK and NJT.

Added the ATC/ACSES system to ACS-64 600. A challenge, but properly enforces signal indications. Even AI trains behave accordingly, obeying the restriction instead of the track speed. I didn't use the overspeed setting as the overspeed monitor is buggy. All credit should be given to the YT channel below. A short video showcasing a bug with AI trains when making activties with TSRE5. Sometimes when an AI train departs a station, the train will have its speed dropped to 0 and then proceed at 0-0.4mph. I still have not found a fix for this issue yet.

Oh. I hear that the trackwork is done so I guess that means you won't be modding the track layout anymore. Good call. Don't overkill it and don't push yourself too hard. And if Vince decides to allow you to release this, how much of the trackwork has been changed? Then I know how hard I'll have to work to rebuild broken activities.

Just how much exactly are you planning for this? If you’re extending the route to Boston, then IDK.
Track with no scenery is built out New Rochelle (makes it easier to schedule Amtrak AI traffic). If I get approved to release this, personalized expansions will be reduced to one stop or removed entirely. For example, Hoboken trains will end at Secaucus Lower or Newark Broad street. Other than that it will still be just NYP to D.C.
@@inactiveair4680 Good call not going to Boston. NYP is a crew change point so there is no point in making the route longer.
@@inactiveair4680 If you're planning to redo any more trackwork based on track charts, for the love of God, PLEASE DO NOT! The route is good as is and the inaccuracies with just retrofitting newer stations into older trackwork will be fine as-is. Just be sure that Newark Airport's platforms don't cover any tracks and that's all. I don't want you overkilling it.

Had to build em up myself. Original track at newark was dug up and shoved the right, then I built out from there.

Are you using the stable or weekly OR builds? That could be the reason for the bug
I've tested it on stable versions 1.3 and 1.4 and the problem still persists. I'm a bit lost because player trains running under auto pilot make stops just fine, but the AI train's bug out. Going to run a performance test. I usually run using a 1.00 instead of .75
Can you send this route to me personally? I will NOT redistribute it
Until the original authors allow for extensions of the route to be publicized, It is a no go. Besides, a lot of the extensions I've created go without scenery for ages.

I hate to be that guy, but I'm curious: any plans to ever release this map? I've been dreaming of the Boston & Providence RR and Stonington line forever. Seems like you are the only one to actually do any sort of attempt at it!
I would release this if I could, but getting permission has been rather difficult. This addon is connected to the PRR Eastern Region and the creators will not allow releases that extend the original route. It sucks, but unless enough they change the terms and conditions, I cannot do anything about it.

Odenton, Bowie State, and Seabrook stations were one of my first station models and we're originally supposed to be in an NEC MARC station package to Baltimore. I also modeled the predecessor to New Carrollton, Capital Beltway Station used by Penn Central and early Amtrak for the Metroliners. New Carrollton was modeled by Ryan Murphy aka Murjax here on TH-cam.
Excellent models. Would be nice to see a new baltimore penn, but I'll work around the default one for now. Almost used the New Haven platforms for New Carrollton, but they were a bit long. I may add Capital Beltway for classic amtrak activities. Time will tell.

Nah, these are just the demo auto sounds off of the OR manual. Not messing with them anytime soon.
Looking good so far. GCT is a pain in the a$$ to build 🤣🤣🤣. I sent you a copy of my old version and if you prefer those GCT platforms, you're more than welcome to use them.
Excellent, those platforms are way better then the originals. GCT is a pain, but needed a rebuild. The amount of broken track that is removed is a TDB saver.

I enjoy Openrails more. Added the Harlem/Hudson to the existing New Haven Route, Now I can run all 3 routes with AI and player trains during MP sessions. It's pretty dope.

that acela looks just like the acela from trainz. i wonder who ported it into MSTS/open rails?
This acela was made before trainz even existed. It was ported at a later date.
Where can I get MSTS at
Download the prrbeta1-8 off train sim, then install a program called Openrails. You can install other routes onto the prr folder since it is a mini route.
