Smooth as butter

It took about 250 hours of flying before I could land on a spot. Same technique applies to any heli with some exceptions. For the hellcat, you need to add collective sooner as it takes longer for the rotors to spool up. And, since it's heavier, it's a tad slower to respond to cyclic inputs and is not as maneuverable.

Thanks for stopping by and the kind words. I started flying with mouse and keyboard, then went to ps4 controller, then used joystick and throttle before ending up with the transmitter. I had the transmitter from flying drone simulator software and had actually forgotten about it. It allows super precise control of the heli and is second nature for me. I've got reforger and Squad but they only allow Xbox or mouse and keyboard for flying so I don't play them often. Hopefully reforger will be armas controller options.

Thanks for watching my vids and the question. The number one way to scrub speed while landing is to pull back hard on the cyclic. One item that is rarely talked about is the perception of speed. I'm my landing videos, it appears I'm flying very fast and then all of a sudden I'm landing but if I was to perform a landing while starting higher off the ground, it would look like my landings are slow. It's almost like an optical illusion and the lower you are when you start your landing, the faster it appears. Finally, the smoother you are when landing, the easier it is to control speed.

@@realgrumpyjoe makes sense, i gotta lot of practice to do. your landing videos really helped me though. first ones that made it make sense now i can consistently land without crashing. just working on more calculated landings and getting it exactly where i want

Yes, I use the Taranis to fly. Yes, you can assign each stick to which ever control movement you want and you can assign the switches to controls such as look left, look right, push to talk, zoom look, etc

Hi, you've actually touched on a topic that I left out of the video. Overshooting the mark is common when first learning to land and my advice would be that if you are going to overshoot the landing, do NOT try to turn harder to land on the mark. Instead, if you're overshooting, just continue the landing to a new location nearby and focus on the landing technique. Also, a common mistake that people make early on, is to approach the glide phase to the mark from a to narrow angle to the mark. Take a wide approach, you'll scrub more speed and will be able to make minute adjustments easier.

Just to followup, offset farther to the right when you start your glide to the lz. And focus on technique and landing closer the the mark will come with time.
