Jason Howland Fishing
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 20 พ.ย. 2015
Jason has fished in bass tournaments for nearly 30 years. A former TV sports and news anchor, the outdoors has always been a part of his video life. He hosted a sports segment called "Howland's Headin' Outdoors' during his TV news days. No longer in TV news but still in the video communications field, this channel is a way for Jason to share his journeys in the boat - whether it's for a tournament or just fishing for fun.

I AM DANE, I LOVE YOUR VIDEIOS, I LIVE IN ALBERT LEA TOO, I AM GOING TO OKOBOJI CAMP NEXT WEEK, LAST YEAR I WAS FISHING IN EAST OKOBOJI LAKE LAST YEAR AND I GO 10 BASS 1 WAS A 20 INCHERE
It's been a weird bite down on boji last Saturday all they would eat was a drop shot
Been a very weird bite on boji this year! I blame El Nino!
Nice work man.Good to see you got some in the bay. After all the complaining I heard. I thought East Lake hadn't been so bad and it didn't look so bad in the end either.
Yes, East definitely showed out in the end. I've heard that the bite on East and West changes on a daily basis.
Hey im from albert lea but i cant really afford the nice baits like those! i got my kid and i some go fishing kits from cabelas with basic setups and stufff what do you recommend to use if i can spare a couple dollars? reminder the kid likes to lose em lol.
It's hard to beat the basics. A spinnerbait if it's cloudy and a good old texas rigged plastic worm if it's sunny.
I grew up spending every summer at a family cabin right on this lake.
what lake was this in lowa jason howland am from sioux city iowa
Jason G is a sandbagger!
Do you still have the Living Room Furniture or the Gazebo?
Great video Fun time
hey man nice rig. how much of a difference would you say the 2075 handles the rough water compared to the 1875? im trying to decide wich size to get. i fish mainly bigger and rougher water but i dont think i need the size of the 2075 but if its makes a huge difference i would definatly consider it.
It makes a difference. The 2075 definitely manages big waves better, but the 1875 was great too, and better than any glass boat.
Yeah buddy. You guys got on some nice bass. Just subscribed to the channel. Keep up the great work and tight lines.
Hey bud Mn looking on heading down there in a couple of days to fish either okoboji or saylorsville. Any ideas, tricks, or thoughts?
Water temps are really cold (under 40 degrees), so fish slow.
This same model won the Classic last year! Great boat.
With 8 ft raptors and 250 pro v does the boat fit in 7x16 garage door opening?
My garage door is at 6 feet 11 inches. The boat fits barely under the door with the motor trimmed down. I have to obviously deploy the raptors halfway to get them under the door.
Holy shit - thats soooo unlucky ...... I hope you recover fast and you can even walk in a shoe without pain. Happy new year!
Do you recommend raptors over talons to hold this boat, most of the videos and pictures have 1 or 2 talons and never raptors. I’m very so-so right now on which anchor to buy. Any advice?
We have a 1875 variant if that helps too
I've never had Talons on a boat, so I can't speak to how well they work. In my mind, the Raptors are more solid in holding you to the bottom. They are ROCK SOLID. They also adjust to the type of bottom you are in. I also had PowerPoles on my previous 1875 Pro V Bass, and they worked well too, but I don't think they were quite as solid as the Raptors. One benefit of the Talons would be the tilt bracket, which would make it much easier getting in and out of the garage.
Would you think One raptor could hold an 1875 pretty well?
One raptor could hold you in place, but the issue with using just one shallow water anchor, whether its a Raptor or Talon, is that the bow of the boat has a tendency to move or "spin" more if there is wind. @@Galactic-jew22
@@JasonHowlandFishing alright thank you 🙏🏻
Jason, as the first contestant called, you had the choice of which podium to go to. You did the right thing by going to the last one, which gave you the advantage for the first one-bid. You don't know how many stupid contestants don't make that choice and pick any podium willy-nilly. Speaking as a fellow contestant from 1997.
12:25 -- Oh I've seen this played out so many times at the time...the first Showcase contestant is found to be way under their bid and react like now they got no chance...but forgets that the other guy can go OVER!
How come on TPIR at the time they could never get the color of pool tables right? They're supposed to be green!!
The rule change You can be contestant on the prices right again . Before the rules was that you can only be a contestant one time, but after Drew took over, you can be a contestant every 10 year from the tape date
Man I was just finishing my junior year in high school when this aired! What an awesome experience I’m sure that was!!!! You got to meet my inspiration for going into broadcast journalism!!!! RIP Bob!
Also for each of those 2 Showcases, I would have guessed the following. 1st Showcase: $12,800 2nd Showcase: $16,500
Hah ha! Thank you for posting.

Hi, just wondering how you like the graph mount now and if it has helped with your back issues?
I love it. No back problems all summer!
Thanks for making this video.
Go fishing at brook side in Albert Lea
The mad dash for fish and rod all with a dart in mouth is incredible. New favorite bass fisherman no doubt. I’ll be on pelican in a couple weeks. Great video, have a good one 👍🏼🤘🏼
It's a great lake. I got my butt whipped on it!
Hi Jason
Pelican. You have to find rocks. That one area you were by the buoy. You were close And there’s some islands you can sit and knock them dead off of the points where rocks and grass meet
Bass can be good if caught at the right time in clean waters. Can taste mossy if caught in a warm farm pond. Uhhh!
What lake is this
I have a very similar bow graph mount setup. I went with the Beatdown Outdoors Flex mount. I have the Echomap ultra 126 and the UHD 93sv mounted up. Works great and no more bending over and having back or hip issues while fishing. Thanks for the video.
that beat down looks even more sturdier and better quality build how u liking it?
What lake was this? I'm from SW Minnesota and I'm itching to go real bad
Can't spill that info, it's a secret. If you're from SW MN, I'd suggest hopping across the border to Spirit Lake or Okoboji. There's some pigs in those lakes, smallies or largies.
nice job, as it seems, there must be no pikes in that lake?
I believe the lake is essentially pike-free. I've never caught one anways.
@@JasonHowlandFishing fantastic!
I love it!!!! But I have a hard time paying that much for an aluminum boat. I've always purchased glass boats.
What kind of prop and pitch do you have? I’m considering switching to get better rough water performance , thinking a mercury bravo LT…
Tempest 21 pitch is what I have. It's what's recommended by Mercury for that motor, and haven't had any issues in rough water.
Are they actually better is a shallow water? They seem to be the same weight as the ranger?
Yes, I had a Champion glass boat before and I'm able to access shallower water in the Lund and the hole shot is phenomenal. I've got the Lund up and on plane extremely quick in 1.5 to 2 feet of water.
Keep making these videos.
what type of trailer steps are you using?
boatefx.com
Yo that’s me!
How’s the boat in the wind?
If you're asking about rough water, the deep V hull is great. You don't spear waves. If you're asking about how it fishes in the wind, it's not like a typical aluminum john boat that is hard to control in the wind. It's just as good as any fiberglass boat.
Cool I was more concerned with how it fishes in the wind. Cross winds in current- rivers & Great Lakes
Hi Jason, I wanna get the 1875 Pro V Bass one day. Can you recommend the correct Atlas jackplate for the 1875? Would it be the same size as the one on your 2075? Thanks!
Check with your dealer, but most of what I've seen on these boats has been a 10-inch jp. I had a 1875 before this, and had a 6-inch jp. It worked fine as well.
Awesome boat. That's the one I would get over all the glass boats
Never would of imagined L having so much weeds this time of the year.
Curly leaf pondweed, that stuff is thick right now! But it will be gone in a month!
Great content guys! You got my sub
Awesome, thank you!
Badass little boat
Thanks, but it's not that little!
@@JasonHowlandFishing it's not big 🤣 meant no offense. I come from San Diego where boats are much larger.
@@DeezzzzNutzzzz Yeah but not bass boats. 21' is about the limit. You're comparing apples to oranges
@@neekopeeko9054 ya or I'm comparing boats to boats. Small boats are small boats like bass are small fish 🤣 don't get your panties in a bunch
