Sell direct to consumer since there are no Pontiac dealers left maybe that’s doable otherwise will see dealer markups to the hilt because I think IMO opinion it will sell very well.

I had a ‘78 back in the 80s / 90s, of course she rusted and I repainted it. Told my Dad I hated the ‘bird; don’t put it on. All other decals were added and the paint very nice indeed. BUT, as soon as I saw the car I knew she needed the bird 😎. A few weeks later the bird was back and I hit the road. By the way that was a ‘78, 400 4spd, w WS-6 suspension and a few GTO/ Nunzi parts throw at it.

Yes please bring it back I am not a muscle car person but I would love a V6 and something that runs on gas not an EV . . I just now had to let go my 06 Grand Prix after 218,000 mi. the transmission finally went😢 . . Plus I owned a 86 Fiero and a 07 solstice . . A two-door sporty Coupe would be fun too . .... The Firebird or Trans Am would be even better . . . COME ON GM/PONTIAC . ....LETS GO🎉🎉🎉😊

The American government gave them an ultimatum. Trim fat or no bailout. Came down Buick and Pontiac, gm was going to keep it alive in Canada because they sold well but gm decided if Pontiac couldn't be the true Pontiac they need to kill it. Rumors are, though, is gm is planning to bring Pontiac....once again the Phoenix will rise from the ashes.

Why didn't GM simply roll these cars into Chevy or Buick when they shut down Pontiac? It's not like they don't "own" the rights to them. Clearly people will still buy them. Having issues selling Camaros in this market? Try adding a few Trans Ams to the mix and you'll see your numbers go back up some. Use some creative thinking for heaven's sake!

I had a baby blue 78 Firebird Esprit, with the "Sky Bird" emblems on the B pillar and nothing on the hood, and there was nothing I wanted to do more than to paint that thing black and slap a baby blue Firebird decal across the hood. I never did it but wish I had.

If GM wasn’t exploring the option of bringing back Pontiac, their answer would have been a solid NO. The fact that they gave a “no comment” tells me it’s at least a possibility. Maybe they are wind testing a newly designed Monte Carlo for NASCAR??? Maybe a new 2+2 Gran Prix version for NASCAR??? GM is not going to lose out on the millions of dollars associated with nascar, so they are DEFINITELY testing something for the racetrack. I guess we’ll soon see!!!

I'm 50 years old now, I remember this car when it first came out, I loved that bird so much! And so did my dad!

I had a 77 Firebird, and I actually made my own bird for the hood, keeping in a similar style but sweeping the wings even further towards the mirrors (more like flames) and tapering into a stripe that went along the body towards the tail. I miss that car.

The black/gold 1978 Pontiac with the bird on, was for me the most famous of all. Everybody knows the movie.!! 11:02 you see a shot of the man on the video.

Never owned a Trans Am...but did have a Firemist/white vinyl interior/rooftop '72 Firebird Formula 400 with 14 inch rear slicks. Was the fastest ponycar that I have ever had. The other 3 were Camaros from the "Malaise" era. A '77 Type LT (new) a '79 Z28 (used) and an '80 Berlinetta (used). Wish that I would have known about those '81 Yenko Turbo Z (28s) as I would have driven to wherever they were being modded and paid for one! PA?

The sniff test says this whole thing smells like a ton of bullshit from the marketing😮 idiots to see what folks are willing pay and how ready to buy something. There is so stinking much invetory out there unsold. Put there money where mouth is. Show us and stop all the tease, otherwise folks will write you off forever.

In just about every genre you can imagine, not just cars, I keep hearing the same story over and over again. Someone has a great idea but some stuff shirt doesn't like it so it gets canned and then the person has to go their own way to make it happen and then it becomes bigger than what the person who tried to can it, is. Moral of the story, if you got something good, don't let people tell you no. Make it happen, even if you have to build your own company.

If- IF GM was to introduce Pontiac as a sedan, coupe and pony car division, I might stay with them. As it is, they are forcing me to choose only from SUVs, cross-overs and EVs, none of which interest me in the slightest way. I resent that. The decision to discontinue the Cruze, as one example, was utterly foolish- they had the market to themselves on this vehicle! Take my choice away from me and I will take my business away from you. Pull up your socks, GM. Otherwise, I am buying foreign next time. Get moving.

I bought my new 1979 Trans AM in February of '79. I ordered it special, fully loaded. It took 18 weeks to arrive. When it showed up it had $700 worth of damage including the bird being scratched by the car carrier. Many other issues as well. Total value of the deal, $9,435 delivered! The fake gas shortage was in full swing by then. I had to give the dealership another $10 just so I could get home! The Pontiac 400 was no longer available by Feb 1979. So I opted for the small block 403 Olds Automatic! Myan Red with black hob nail cloth bucket seats. Power everything! Tri-band antennae. I loved that car.

What was the 27,274 on the windshield of that car? was that how many that were build that year?

Mine was a non bird formula she was a beast 455 accelerated like a rocket was a very fun awesome car. No fire chicken for me.

I have always wanted a widebody modern GTO firebird. Camaro is obviously closer to a trans am, but they kinda sucked. 400 hp 2006 gto with the 2 doors and a supercharger are awesome.

It really started people putting art on cars. I am excited to see the return of Pontiacs for american muscle. We hardly even have the mustang anymore.

Was never a fan of the bird. Looked hokey, tacky. The lines of the car and paint color is what it made it attractive.

This is the first time I have seen your site and already you have my full attention! I am a full time car nut and currently my #1 collectable is a 65 Lemans convert. Slightly modified but still a Pontiac, including the running gear. As a teenager I worked at a Pontiac dealership and I was present when customers would come in looking for a GTO and leave in a foul mood as they weren't available in Canada at that point. Many ended up with a Canadian Pontiac and most of them were happy. When the GTO became available in Canada they did sell alongside the Canadian offerings and both did well. When Pontiac disappeared I don't think many tears were shed as the brand had become stagnant, but then again, most of GM's offerings were that way. If this was a real "thing" then it would have to be well thought out and there would be no room for a bogus or half-assed product line. Nuff said? I along with many others will be watching.

Bring back Pontiac, but not as a bastardised Chevy. Think back GM to Pontiacs history 421 Super duty, GTO, Tempest, Firebird. Time to raise like a Phoenix from the ashes.

Don't forget also the European brands have sedans and they're losing market share to them too.

They need to bring it back and make sedans again through this company as they're losing market share to the Japanese on this and the Koreans still making sedans.
