Giving the 592 a run with a 36 just out of interest, pulls well and oils well.

This was a nice Sitka Spruce which had a fair bit of light earth and debris around the base which as you can hear slowly affected the chain !

This was my first proper run with the 500 since it returned home from being "seen to" by Jack and I'm very pleased ! Just need to find were it's happy on the chain.

Hey i was just catching up with hotsaws 101 and he has not posted anything in 10 months. Do you know if he is ok ?
Just came across you comment after I was catching up with hotsaw101 uploads and noticed he hadn't posted anything in quite some time. Did you hear if he was ok or just taking a break?
Hotsaws101 just posted a new video yesterday (12/28/24) Hopefully this channel will post again as well.
Good day m8 how many drive links are you using
Thanx for sharing !
I love that outfit!
Very cool!
I wish i knew what chain you were using
How are you doing
Is it normal for a saw to be able run a 16 18 and 20 bars?
Love my 550mk 2 use it for firewood cutting And harvesting firewood (felling) the farm i work at sells firewood so i use it there great saw
Good work. Am thinking a 18 or 20 bar...!? I've got the same saw its on a 16
Hell yeah
Hell yeah
Why no Humboldt undercut, perhaps tree are not going to sawmill for boards? Most saw mills, if not all, in the Sierra Nevadas in California up into Oregon and Washington want the log end cut flat, saw mills head rig would lose some on the notch. Jack, does it have something to in scaling board feet measurements?
Jack Beeler is the real deal, gentleman, scholar and a timber faller❗️
Have you ever converted the 572 to .325? Any pros or cons from switching between the two?
Are you happy with that 28” duralite? I’m thinking about upgrading to one from the regular Stihl brand 25” that came with my 500.
How are your doing, it’s a long time since you put up a video? Cheers for Lofoten Norway
The ms500i is just too damn overpriced here in Canada.
What bar and chain are you using?
Hi there, nice you stay safe. It's time to go to another saw aboth the echo 7310. Question is: 500i or 592? Your recommendation sir?
Hi, what's your thoughts on this 20" bar? Running some skip chains? A few years back I tried a 20" Cannon bar with a 1,3mm 0.325 semi skip chain on a very steep hill. It worked ok in bench but I would never use a semi skip chain again.
Great video
Is it worth the upgrade?
Can you compare is to a 462??
Finally someone that doesn't waste a whole bunch of time with wedges and stuff
That 500 rips!
The 500i is a friggin beast. Beats my 271 by a little bit lol.
Still sounds good them have been some pretty nice trees
How come you weren’t happy with the cut? Does pulling wood affect the timber inside the log?
Awesome! That thing really rips and a sharp chain as well. Hand filed I imagine. What 2 stroke oil do you run in your saw? Thanks and have a great day!
Beautiful falling Mr. Dave, as you have stated much credit to Mr. Jack no doubt...the operator and maintenance personnel are doing a great job also....
Nice, no messing about less than 2 mins including the camera walk real world cutting. Saw sounds like it pulls well. What chains on it?
Hello, quite some time ago with this saw I was told I was far to carefree and you have looked and saw just as I did, wind behind me a bit of a lean the right way so get it down. Thanks for seeing it from my side ! As Jack said hand done Stihl RS which is not my first choice but easier to get here for the .063 Cannon Duralite
@@outinthewood3578 It went on its own but you had the wedge there as an incase the wind swayed it, only little bit of naughty I can see is the old school step to pop it off the hinge. Not used a Stihl chain in a long while the 063 058 is a bit frustrating especially as far as I can tell seems they use narrow stuff quite often on Stihls in US.
Great to see you, and Jack's (@hotsaws101). Work working. Cheers fellas.
Thanks Dan
howdoodly doo, how ya been anyway?
Hello Mr, been keeping an eye on your stuff and your no nonsense style is the business
@@outinthewood3578 thats cause im fat and lazy lol
@@northmanlogging2769 no it's because you know what you are doing ( most of the time lol) 👍
@@outinthewood3578 shhhhh dont tell anyone lol
Dave G'-dy Nice air filter system, lol. I hope the viewers can appreciate the way your chains cut - handfiled no doubt! That saw seems to be moving right along as well. Top of the day to you.
Evening Jack, well without you and Joseph we would not have the pretty dam good far better than OEM airfilter kit so a big thanks and the fact that you and J sent me over the kit even more thanks ! I posted this just to make the point that a saw that is highly modified is still a reliable and not a short term investment. In fact the "375 XP" you did for me nearly 5 years ago is still cutting. Now I do rotate my saws but even then the 500 and 375 have at this stage cut a lot of timber. Not to mention the 562, 357 and 385 I got form you are all still doing there bit is testament to your work
Still sounds good your country is pretty
It's in County Wicklow which is known as "the garden of Ireland" we tend to know it as "hell" lol
Thanks for the video ! Can you tell me if the 395 dawgs will fit on either / both of these power heads. Thanks from British Columbia.
Hello, no very different mounting on 585/592. There is a bigger set which I did fit to my 592, have a look on instagram- outinthewoodagain and you'll see them

Hello, just curious to know how you run in your saws out of the box? Hope all is well, cheers 👍🏼
Hello Tom, I just run them with no special treatment, however, I would avoid a sale of windblown timber as with the best will in the world your chain will not be as sharp as it should be all the time so not a great idea for a new saw running hard in that type of timber like wise I would avoid a big day of rough dirty edge trees as again long back cuts and ugly tough de limbing not good until a few tanks later. Buy the best mix oil you can get, sharp chain and clean air filter is the most important thing which I'm sure you know !
Thanks Dave I didn’t know that I will get on and order one Once again many thanks for the reply
Good evening Dave how do you rate the Husky tough lite bars . I’ve been trying to get a 28inch TSU but none about until early next year would the husky bar be a alternative Thanks
Hello, the Husqvarna bar is a TSU bar which I'm sure you knew but there were some photos prior to launch of 585/592 which showed Sugi bars which caused a bit of confusion. I've been using TSU for several years and like them.
Looks good!
Very nice Mr. Dave....
